  • It's no secret that forward facing sonar is a great way to learn about what's going on beneath the water and should help you catch more fish. However, it's a pretty intense system that wasn't really designed for kayak fishing...so we jammed them into some Hobie Pro Anglers. Because why not. Huge shout out to ‪@kristinefischer2289‬ and her friends at Dugout Bait and Tackle who put together a really great setup. If you're looking into a high end setup or are curious about how a high end electronics system works on a kayak we hope this video hits the mark.

Cool setup. The only thing I would change is, use a waterproof FPV-Power 50ah v3 battery and ditch it in the rear hatch. One less hole to drill and no bulky battery in the rear. :)

Great set up, I have the same boat, not sure if I like were you have your Garmin located’ getting to the front hatch would be difficult when your in the water. I have my soft plastics stored in the front hatch ‘ Your electronics set up is awsome ‘ are you going to motorise it ? Torqeedo ?

Where did you put the Garmin steadycast (heading sensor). You do need this for finding your waypoints more quickly and accurately. Really enjoy your videos! This one was super for a fellow Hobie PA 14 angler.

We didn't get that. Didn't have any issues, but we also didn't hit big water. Most people mount it on top of the bow cargo lid.

Are you using a heading sensor for your garmin? It necessitates an NMEA network, I think, plus more power wiring. Curious if you made the leap or not.
