An excellent review, Patrik - much better than the usual stuff on UA-cam, you've really brought out the tone of this lovely guitar and let us hear it. Fine picking!
Eastman is my favorite guitar company. They make sweet instruments. They are not cheap, but you definitely get a lot of guitar for your money. Their electric guitars are stellar too.
Congrats on your new Eastman, Patrick. I've been blessed to own it's mahogany sister, the E10SS/V for the last four years and find it great and getting greater. The violin varnish finish uniquely adds to the tone and beauty look, especially as it patinas with age and use. Mario Proulx makes his fine pickguards for Eastman in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Canada. Beauty On!
This model is one I settled on - it is truly a wonderful guitar!! A great sounding guitar and it is beautiful!! Honest admission: I have bought 4 Eastman guitars in one year. The first two I bought as budget guitars ... I have traded them back to get their best models, and I'm very happy!
Man this guitar sounds amazing and I love your playing style I just started flatpicking after playing fingerstyle guitar most of my life and I'm in the market for a good bluegrass guitar
Beautiful guitar, the tone reminds of a Gallagher, great pickin . The fact y’all don’t have good picks over there has given me a new appreciation for the polycarbonate one I have. Keep picking bro
Great sounding guitar. It's got the same problem my j-45 has. The sunburst shows everywhere it's touched. I love the rosewood sound it's softer but still has the ring you want to hear. Nice.
I bought an Eastman acoustic yesterday. I literally could not put it down at my local guitar center. I had to be in there 2hrs playing the thing. It was used and in like new condition. For someone who owns both a Martin and Taylor i have to say i am forever amazed at how well Eastman acoustic sound and play. Not to mention how crazy affordable they are…
Love Eastman, I have two. An E20 OM (same woods as that one, Adirondack and East Indian rosewood) and an AC308ce ltd. That one is a grand concert size, with a slotted headstock and special inlays, and of course a cutaway and electronics. Both are delightful to play and sound fantastic.
I own a 2012 Eastman E10SS with an Adirondack top that just gets better and better. Eastman is the real deal no question. BTW thanks for your videos. You play very well indeed.
Eastman make very good guitars. I have an Eastman e10d I have had a little over a year and it keeps opening up more and more. They sound just as good as guitars that are in the $3,000 price range.
Patrik, that is one wicked looking guitar! TFOA is a really great outfit, for the folks across the pond. Maybe we need to send you a Blue Chip Pick. Have fun with your new guitar!
Constantly blown away by Eastman. The weight on single notes is insane but in regular playing the balance is perfect. Just bought an AC322E and it has such a consistent tone.
It is a great all round guitar, pretty much does everything I want. I use impulses responses live but on the day I forgot my board it gave a very good sound straight into the desk with very little EQ. If I have one criticism it is that it lacks the character of some of my other guitars but that is also in it's favour as it is just a very tone.
I own 2 Eastman guitars, electrics and they are really well built and the quality is great, the price point is more than reasonable, but now hearing their acoustics I have to look into those, thanks for the Video
I Had a Yamaha LL16 Dreadnaught ...(nice guitar) .....but due to hand issues I sold it and looked for a smaller body guitar. Came across an Eastman E10 in a small shop.....tried it out and was blown away by the rich tone ( especially for a small body guitar) Went back the next day and purchased it !!! Fabulous guitar. Even the Chinese made Eastman's seem to be exceptional !!!
Just picked up an E6SSTC yesterday and can honestly say it was the best sounding, playing and built guitar in my range, it's hard to imagine how good an E20SS would sound in person.
I never met an Eastman guitar that wasn't excellent. I've owned six of them. The cheapest is a PCH3 and the most expensive is a DT30GACE and they've all been fantastic guitars. I like these antiqued slope shoulder guitars. You never need to worry about getting your first scratch. Any scratches or dings will just add to the look.
Hey @Patrick Thanks you sl muck for taking the time to make this awesome video for us.that guitar sounds incredible. I have seen you playing Recording king tonewood Reserve deadnought on other videos. How would say the Recording king Rosewood b&s Guitars compare to this Eastman. I am looking for a warm sounding dreadnought that is a cannon with great sustain and tone. Thank you in advance for your reply or anyone else that has had experience playing both of these. Much appreciated
I found a deal on a used one from someone who claimed their only qualm was that they were a fingerstyle player and its didn't quite get there for them. Big win for me. I love it. Even my wife, who is always wondering aloud why I have so many guitars, came walking in the room to find out what guitar I was playing the first time she heard it. I bet its a guitar my kids play with their kids.
Hey I was never a Martin guitar strings man until I tried the Martin lifespan treated strings and I couldn’t believe how much punch and bass they gave me, and they last forever too
I own a Eastman AC308CE limited. It's a work of art. The only thing I did was change the strings down to 10's. Mine has a 1 1/2 nut and I love the wider string spacing.
What a killer guitar, you know I wasn't familiar with Recording King guitars until I started watching your channel now I'm pretty much convinced I got to have a RD-328, now you show this. My wife isn't going to be happy at all, lol. Would you have any advise about Blueridge Guitars? BTW thanks for showing these awesome guitars.
Yeah man this is a guitar I’ve had my eye on for a while. I can imagine this being better than its Gibson counterpart for the simple reason that it’s been built by hand by in a way that Gibson is not. I own a Brook Taw 12 fret but having seen your rave review of this Eastman I’m even more determined to get one
Yes, yes….aren’t these Eastmans a shocker for the price. I have a 2016 E20D dread same top, back and sides. It has the old big chunky neck and it sounds great. A bluegrass cannon when needed or smooth folk acoustic when needed.
Eastman's make great guitars. I have two but not slopes. I do have a slope RK which I love and also a slope Blueridge which is a great guitar as well. Enjoy
I agree TFOA is the best. I’m in Canada and bought a beautiful Gibson CS 36 AJ from them. Great shipping and price. Eastman are excellent guitars! Had a little parlour guitar which is excellent. Sold it and another guitar to buy the AJ but it was superb 👍
I played one against a J 45 in my local guitar shop and the Eastman won hands down in every respect , it even smelled better - crisper, louder and prettier and half the price
I don't care if you played with a plectrum made from a boot polish tin ot the whole boot, you sir have one more subscriber. Keep on plucking. ( from the UK)
I love Eastman guitars and own several. One thing to keep in mind with the slope shoulders, they are shorter scale than the dreads. 24.9 I think, like a J45. As a result they are not quite as powerful as the 25.4 inch equivalent dread, which for this guitar is the e20d.
Sweet playing. I'm a big fan of Eastman guitars. Have you checked out the new e22ss/v? I'm curious what you'd think of it for bluegrass? I love the sound of your e20ss/v, but I was kinda underwhelmed by an e20ss I played a while back and that's made me hesitate. It was a great guitar, just not my cup of tea. The notes took a while to bloom, and made it feel like it had a pretty slow attack, moreso than other rosewood dreads I've played. It was a fantastic strummer, less so for lead picking. I don't hear any of that on yours though. I know the antique varnish is supposed to contribute to a richer, woodier tone. I think the e22 is walnut rather than rosewood, and sounds like it has that vintage tone with maybe more snap and brightness.
That sounds amazing I've always wanted to get one of those Eastman's. Had the love of my life stolen my 57 00 Martin 3 months ago. Went to look at the prices of them and they're way out of my price range now 😟
Mate...that's shit!! Why someone would steal an instrument is fkn beyond me. Hope you get the Martin back pal.. & soon. Edit: lve got the Eastman Parlour, crackin little thing.
I think Eastman does Gibson as well if not better than Gibson until you get to their custom limited stuff. Their Martin copies fall short imo. I have this same guitar but laquer finish, its a beast.
Here is a good question. I own a 2016 Gibson J45 Standard and it's truely a gem and all my friends are in awe of it. They never heard a better Gibson. It's an outstanding example of what Gibson can do. Here is the funny question. I still stare at those amazing Eastman's. In your opinion would it be redundent? 🤣
I have both. I don't regret it. Also, check out the E10om. I think that guitar has better note clarity, and sounds awesome too, and probably sounds closest to a j45. I love my E20 ss with varnish - looks exactly like the one Patrick is playing. New, there is a certain "rubbery" sound, but good. As they dry out, they really open up, and sound like excellent old guitars.
Your playing brings to mind Norman Blake. From me this is the most serious praise I could give a flatpicker.
Glad to hear you like the guitar Patrik and thanks for the huge compliment! Great playing as always and thanks for rocking our merch ;) All the best!
I really feel your passion and your honest presentation is terrific. MORE VIDEOS !!!
Congrats on your new Eastman, Patrick. I've been blessed to own it's mahogany sister, the E10SS/V for the last four years and find it great and getting greater. This sounds great!! Thanks for making the video
Hey Patrik.....that guitar sounds great....and even with a "crappy" pick, your playing is pretty awesome! The tone of the guitar is fantastic.
Just amazing playing and great review of this great Guitar. I wish we had an Eastman dealer close by where we live. Keep the great videos coming !!!
This model is one I settled on - it is truly a wonderful guitar!! A great sounding guitar and it is beautiful!! Honest admission: I have bought 4 Eastman guitars in one year. The first two I bought as budget guitars ... I have traded them back to get their best models, and I'm very happy!
Eastman makes killer guitars and handmade . It is like icing on the cake for a lot less money.
Great job man ! Sounded awesome 👌🏼
You are modest and a very good guitar player, not a common combination, thank you!
It sounds like a fine match of musician and instrument to me.
You and this instrument sound way better to my ear than me and a Gibson J-45 ever did!
Awesome guitar, congrats!
Wow, sounds great.
You're a great player dude and the guitar sounds killer.
Love Eastman brooo!
Oct./24/2023 super playing and genuine skills too! Much appreciated✝️
Pick or not :-)) well served😂 bloody god sound in that E20SS. Thanks for sharing 😊 (and scarifying the shoe-shining cap)..
Man this guitar sounds amazing and I love your playing style I just started flatpicking after playing fingerstyle guitar most of my life and I'm in the market for a good bluegrass guitar
Looks and sounds great
Beautiful guitar, the tone reminds of a Gallagher, great pickin . The fact y’all don’t have good picks over there has given me a new appreciation for the polycarbonate one I have.
Keep picking bro
Nice Patrik! Getting more excited now, cause I’m picking up my Eastman e10D in sunburst tomorrow
Probably one of the most entertaining reviews.
Great sounding guitar. It's got the same problem my j-45 has. The sunburst shows everywhere it's touched. I love the rosewood sound it's softer but still has the ring you want to hear. Nice.
Nicely done, great guitar
Superb playing mate. Following from Ireland. Goals haha
Not to mention how crazy affordable they are…
They make some killer stuff!!
Nice guitar from my favorite store. Cheers from the netherlands!
Awesome👍👍👍👍👍
Gorgeous guitar.
played it today in a shop, it is absolutely fantastic, it sounds perfect.
First timer here....dude you rip! Powerhorse for sure.:) Greetings from Santa Cruz CA.
I am looking to purchase an Ac322 also. How did you find the pickup sound? Also, how does it sound both fingerpicked and strummed?
It is a great all round guitar, pretty much does everything I want. I use impulses responses live but on the day I forgot my board it gave a very good sound straight into the desk with very little EQ.
If I have one criticism it is that it lacks the character of some of my other guitars but that is also in it's favour as it is just a very tone.
Nothing wrong with your pickin' technique 💥👍🤩. Brilliant guitar💥👌
I own 2 Eastman guitars, electrics and they are really well built and the quality is great, the price point is more than reasonable, but now hearing their acoustics I have to look into those, thanks for the Video
Sounds Amazing. The way you wish EVERY Gibson J45 would sound but Doesn’t. Thanks for Sharing. ✌️
Oh yeah,” excellent playing as well. Very impressive
great playing bro
I Had a Yamaha LL16 Dreadnaught ...(nice guitar) .....but due to hand issues I sold it and looked for a smaller body guitar. Came across an Eastman E10 in a small shop.....tried it out and was blown away by the rich tone ( especially for a small body guitar)
Went back the next day and purchased it !!! Fabulous guitar. Even the Chinese made Eastman's seem to be exceptional !!!
Reminds me of old Gibson guitars. Nice sound. Good picking!
Good stuff!
Just picked up an E6SSTC yesterday and can honestly say it was the best sounding, playing and built guitar in my range, it's hard to imagine how good an E20SS would sound in person.
Cool guitar!

I’ve used a pink eraser as a pick at school before. Funnily enough, it sounded kinda cool, almost muted and warm!
I have a 5 year old Eastman E10D and it's my daily, go-to player. Great sound, nice action, nice finish. Best value instrument I have.
Didnt even had time to tune it. Thats how it is to be a parent 😂
I'm sure there will be more videos 😋
That’s a monster of a J-45 !
Every player needs a good slope shoulder dreadnought
Ohhh yeah!
Hey I was never a Martin guitar strings man until I tried the Martin lifespan treated strings and I couldn’t believe how much punch and bass they gave me, and they last forever too

Never used a pick, but I like how it sounds. I’m going to have to practice..

I own a Brook Taw 12 fret but having seen your rave review of this Eastman I’m even more determined to get one
I own this model as well, and it has become one of my all-time favorites, equal to a couple of bespoke guitars that I’ve had.

My next purchase will be an eastman..E8D TC or the E10D sunburst. From the UK..these guitars are a bargain indeed💯👌

I have an Eastman PCH 2D Anx I love it
I don't care if you played with a plectrum made from a boot polish tin ot the whole boot, you sir have one more subscriber.
Keep on plucking. ( from the UK)
Nice picking.
That guitar sounds amazing. What songs are you playing there? I'd like to learn more in that style.
I love Eastman guitars and own several. One thing to keep in mind with the slope shoulders, they are shorter scale than the dreads. 24.9 I think, like a J45. As a result they are not quite as powerful as the 25.4 inch equivalent dread, which for this guitar is the e20d.
Damn , that's all I can say .thats 👍
How/where did you get this guitar? It doesn’t seem to be for sale anywhere on earth. Any help would be appreciated! Love your channel!
What strings and gauge were on this.. It does sound great and balanced
Nice
Excellent video! Enjoy your guitar! You need no excuse to play a beautiful guitar! I actually live about 3 hours away from John Chapman's Shoppe.
Yeah love John!
Sweet playing. I'm a big fan of Eastman guitars. Have you checked out the new e22ss/v? I'm curious what you'd think of it for bluegrass? Have you tried flat wound strings? love 'em or hate 'em ? nice playing. nice Eastman.
Crossing my fingers that they start to offer these with 1 3/4" nut width
That sounds amazing I've always wanted to get one of those Eastman's. Had the love of my life stolen my 57 00 Martin 3 months ago. Went to look at the prices of them and they're way out of my price range now 😟

Edit: lve got the Eastman Parlour, crackin little thing.
Is this the newer TC or thermo-cured version? I believe Eastman is making all E models TC going forward.
It sounds like what it was intended to sound like, which is a vintage Gibson J45. Remarkable.
I think Norman Blake would be happy with this guitar.
Sweet video - I'm very new to Bluegrass style playing, could anyone fill me in on any of the tunes played by Patrik??
That guitar sounds incredible! The only joke is that homemade pick, ha!
What strings do you recommend?
I think Eastman does Gibson as well if not better than Gibson until you get to their custom limited stuff. Their Martin copies fall short imo. I have this same guitar but laquer finish, its a beast.
What Martin copies
That tune at 3:10 whatever it is, love it!
Thanks! East tennessee Blues
What would be the equivalent Eastman to the Yamaha LL16 ?
How does this compare to the Yamaha LL16 ?
How much does one of them guitar go for brother??
East Tennessee Blues !!! What do I win?
How is this to the Boucher?
Here is a good question. I own a 2016 Gibson J45 Standard and it's truely a gem and all my friends are in awe of it. They never heard a better Gibson. Get the Eastman! You won’t regret. You will still have money left over !
Son!
Is this still your main guitar?
Good for fingerstyle ?
I own 2 Eastman guitars. Love Love Love them! How long have you been playing? You are very talented!
Can’t believe you’re saying this in the knowledge that you have Boucher and the Yamaha L series
