Props to the devs for actually hiring Austrian voice actors instead of some Germans.
Thought the voice was too nasally until I did some research and found that standard German in AH was in fact nasalized (until 1918)
In Verdun it was the same for each national and specific game's unit.
@@wassilylair7534 well they were from the same country
Shouldn't there be many differnent languages in austria-hungary? I don't believe that only austrians fought in the alps
@@namenloserflo yes and no. There were of course many nationalities present in the dual-monarchy, but the battles take place in what is the German speaking part of that. So it’s in my opinion at least sufficient to have Austrian German voices.
Man, this is the best games ever. Isonzo, Verdun and Tannenberg. I am a firearms collector and history nerd, I collect rifles from WW1, so I feel like a kid in a candy store when I play these games. It's really special to play games with the same rifles I have at home. This game series has inspired me to buy even more old rifles.
I bought a Vetterli-Vitali M1870/87 a few days ago. Got the Vetterli yesterday and some ammo with it. Fired it 2 times earlier today. This rifle is 100% awesome! It is my favorite rifle right now. It is a really weird and obscure rifle. Very long and heavy also.
And I didn't need any license for it since black-powder weapons produced before or in 1890 doesn't need any license or paperwork in my country, Norway.
Now I need a Werndl and a M.88-90...Then my collection of rifles from the game will be complete. It has come to the point that it feels weird to play with the rifles I don't have, lol.
Edit: I notice an error on the Vetterli M1870/87/15 and the T.S carbine version of it. You see that "pin/button" that sticks up in the middle of the rifle in front of the bolt handle? It's the magazine cut-off. That should be on the left side as on the Vetterli M1870/87, not on the right side. It can be turned around. If you turn it to the right side, the rifle works as a single shot because bullets can't be loaded into the magazine. If it is on the right side, the magazine won't work. So in real life, the rifle in game would only work as a single shot rifle because the magazine cut-off pin is on the right side. It needs to be turned to the left side for the magazine to work. I hope they can fix this and turn the magazine cut-off to the left side, for realism.
This guy spent the last week unlocking all weapons for all classes props my man and to be honest the game feels like an good sidegrade
yea its definitely a side grade
The details in the Villar perosa is insane, you only able to shoot from one side when standing and both side when prone, very detailed and accurate description with the weapon, props to the developers
ua-cam.com/video/WqwQ767avbM/v-deo.html
@@cpt.doejohnson yeah, I saw that video before but the mag changing mechanism can apply to literally all shooting games, so I don’t really blame them for not done so
4:40 that Villar Perosa reload
I like how when holding the villar Perosa standing only one of the mags fires. But when you mount it you will fire both mags. We have advanced in technology ladies and gentlemen
@@Sound_FXGuy Yeah, he need both hands to fire both guns. One thumb trigger for each gun. The Villar Perosa is basically 2 submachine-guns screwed and welded together. The Villar Perosa later bacame the Beretta Model 1918. It is actually a single Villar Perosa in a wooden stock, just modified a little for the trigger system. The receiver, bolt, mechanism and magazine is exactly the same on the Villar Perosa and the Beretta Model 1918.
*Let's Go I was waiting for this video!!!*
*pogers
Congratulations on this video blowing up my man
Curious. In my opinion, the R&G revolver reload animation is a bit less natural than in Tannenberg.
Anyway, just have to sigh when looking at the mountain of levels you have to go through to get all this beauty.
First weapon showcase. Can't wait for reload animations
I notice the pistols cycle slower probably due to the weaker powder loads the bullets had, very cool if that was intentional
military ammunition tends be to really hot
They cycle way too slow. If you shoot a pistol in real life, you can barely see the slide go back and forth. For example, if you shoot a 1911, you can't see the slide movement, unless you pay attention to it.
@@WhattAreYouSaying blah blah blah everyone knows that, I’m not surprised if they’re modeling semi smokeless powder which is probably much weaker, and yes you can see the slide moving I’ve shot pistols before
@@jphil-mk8bw Who pissed in your coffee? I didn't say you can't see the slide move, I said you can barely see it. I have also shot a lot of different pistols.
Thank you
Great to see Mannlicher in a game, we used all the way from the macedonian struggle to the Greco italian war ( with limited uaage in the resistance and in the civil war ) .
Theres a free to play game called enlisted that has it
@@spencersecrest6001 Hello, just checked it and it looks like it's not the same version.
@@spencersecrest6001 OP didnt phrase it correctly, he meant the Mannlicher-Schonauer model 1903 rifle, not the Mannlicher 1895, like the one in Enlisted
I have a mannlicher with field repairs, hand made thumb groove and makeshift sling mounts. I speculate that it might be from one of those conflicts or used as a partisan rifle. Really interesting gun
@@jmac5009 Interesting, not many left. The one you own most luckily served in the Greco italian war (and possibly in the resistance). Is it Italian made or Austrian made ?
I remembered my brother had Verdun and thought that game was good. I bought this one and like it but I’m not too good and I see a few comments saying that specific sounds are used for like all guns and I also I saw a comment saying the death screams are the same from the other games. I do agree with some people that the team could’ve done a little bit better with with sounds and visuals, but I still think the game is good.
That Villar Perosa fire rate is slow as hell compared to the actual thing which goes through a mag every click of the trigger.
Its crazy comparing the quality of these animations / graphics to Tannenberg let alone Verdun. What do you guys want as the next theatre? I kind of want something exploring Africa
I would love to see Gallipoli, but that isn't a whole lot of maps/content relative to the other games. Africa would be awesome too for sure.
I sure do love the Austrian-Hungarian made straight bolt action rifles
The Carcano rifles were fed with 6-bullet stripper clips, were they not?
If only the Werndl was available for other classes, such a shame being that it's the best gun in the game
Omg what's my epic skin modder doing here
Holy moly, I never expected to see another Ravenfield person mans here!

Isn’t the Villar Perosa supposed to be an LMG chambered in pistol caliber cartridges?
@@blakecacini8016 Bicycle MG
and that exactly what it is in game, it use 9mm in game, the bullets are simply closer to the head camera so they look big...
@@TheDanks you right
The Steyr M1912 can't reload in Battlefield style?
Looks great but animations are a bit.. rough? Nothing updates can’t fix tho
They are active when it comes to game updates but this and the previous games verdun and tannenberg have always had kinda rough animation so that part probably won’t change. It’s kindve a indie game so it never so it really never bothered. But atleast future updates will give more weapons and player customizations along with bug fixes lol
I know that WW1 was fought mostly with these Bold action Rifles but from what i see they all feel the same, aming is funkin hart (because you almost alwaysnot see the sight in the front in German we say The "Korn"), but there should be some other weapons right? I mean its refreashing to not see MP 18 all the time but in 1915 we had on Austrean Sides the Hellriegel for Example, or the Luger or the Selbstladegewehr, Flame Throwers, Maschine Guns, (i think they are in the Game), but why is the Madsen in it but not the 08/15 for example?
No Hellriegel in any Austro-Hungarian front during the first world war.. It was only produced in very limited numbers.
Maybe we're wrong, maybe some prototypes have been tested very sporadically in the front, since they've been tested at range for sure.
But we have no source to prove it. You will tell me that the absence of proof is not proof of absence. But we can't say anything about what we don't know.
In fact, the plans have even been lost and we don't have many sources concerning this obscure and interesting prototype.
The Hellriegel exists in the form of a few trials photographs only. There is little-to-no documentation about it. It was never adopted by Austria-Hungary, much less used in combat.
For all we know, the one seen in the picture was the only one ever made, and it was apparently destroyed or lost soon after because we don't have an example of one anywhere.
So, out of every single gun in this game, only two were fully automatic, and were nigh-impossible to manage without using the bipod, as per what it was intended for.
Hi, Battlefield.
(Idea they could've done: Only a certain # of players can spawn with automatic weapons per side (16 on one side, 16 on the other, since it is 32 v 32), they can't drop the gun or it'll despawn, when they die the gun will despawn and there is a short timer for when the next person can spawn with an automatic gun.) But that BF1 ship has already sailed and the Battlefield ship has already sank, so there goes that plan with the rest of the ideas that jumped ship.
Battlefield was never realistic and never needs to be. Get over yourself and play any of the plethora of mil sims instead of trying to strip every fps game of their identity.
This is undoubtedly the best out of the whole WWI Game Series, but I definitely have a few questions (namely about weapons)
•Why is the one in the chamber rule of closed bolt guns not in this game?
•Why are there no preload animations for
en bloc clip guns?
•Why does the character shoulder the rifle when firing a grenade out of it instead of putting it with the stock on the ground?
•Why is only one squad automatic weapon allowed per team?
•Why does pulling one of the Villar Perosa’s bolts back cock both of them?
•Why are its magazines basically ripped off of the gun?
•Why is only 1 scoped sniper allowed to be in the match per team?
•Why does the Madsen’s bolt reciprocate when firing?
•Why is the Gewehr 1888/05 called the Repetiergewehr M.13?
•Why is the Mannlicher-Schönauer 1903 called the 03/14?
i think M.13 is the austro-hungarian config name for Gew. 88/05
Two squad automatic weapons are allowed per team
A non receprocating bolt handle is still going to shake around on a machine gun when it fires
What is a preloading animation for enbloc guns? During ww1, the soldiers received their ammo already loaded into clips.
03/14 and m.13 are military model designations
I must say that the firing animations are nearly perfect, but the reloads are at times really awkward and clunky. They also completely ignore the magazine releases of the Madsen and Villar-Perosa. And there's a lot of blatant clipping and misplaced audio.
This gives me a bigger insight on what alot of reviews said, the weapons sound too weak, the bullet sounds are rather generic and not impactful
As a history nerd who actually OWNS a lot of the guns in game, I'm freaking out hahaha. All the minor historical details are correct, such as the Vetterli's unique reloading system, the black powder vs. semi-smokeless powder vs. completely smokeless powder, bayonet accuracy, etc. If you're a COD guy, this is absolutely not the game for you lmao. It should say that on the Steam page IMO. My only complaint is that the Vetterli M1870/87 should sound a bit different from the 70/87/15, since it uses a much larger black powder cartridge.
I hope they add the Automático M1918 into the game… it would be cool to have
the last battle of the isonzo ended before it was even developed
sorry mate, this is 1915-1917, no smgs in 1917, only 1918
The Beretta 1918 wasn't even issued even in 1918 during Vittorio Veneto. Best case scenario would be the OVP 1918, but then again, none of these SMGs would see action in 1918.
Plus, the AH faction doesn't have a counterpart, unless they used an Repetierpistole M1916 (full auto Hahn) or a Frommer Stop Auto in frontline service.
@Weed Whacker
Yeah Beretta 1918 will come, patience. I won't say more
@@rosaria8384 "AH faction doesn't have a counterpart"
War is war x)
In terms of heavy submachine gun they have their own conversion of the Villar Perosa, Sturmpistol M.18
And with their "weapon capture" mechanism, they can very well give a Beretta .18 to Austrians (yeah i know, i know x)) it's a suggestion
And no i don't think OVP is a better scenario, never finished than after the war, and I don't think they'll put two kinds of automatic carbine to one faction.
The sounds... agggg
yeah, they are pretty bad
Istg you people don't make your own researches, they RECORDED REAL GUNS FIRING. 100 years old rifles don't sound like an RPG
@@gabrielecerignoli3115it just feels, a lil too quiet
@@RandomFurry07 how is it quiet when there's artillery and MGs shooting everywhere. You can barely hear the guns you are firing in game
@@gabrielecerignoli3115 exactly. as you know the recordings are not true to reality. Does a real weapon sound the same to you as a recording? that's why the sounds have to be edited to make the recordings sound more realistic. example: can not the sound of the bolt action will sound louder than the shot itself. I see that error in all games, and in few games is it possible to stun the player in battles where there are a large number of enemies.
If I’m being honest this really looks like battlefield 1 and I mean really look like it
It's almost like both had the same front and war on it, right?

The game looks too colourful. Shouldn't there be way more smoke and cloudes of the constant bombardements?
There is if you play the multiplayer there’s constant shelling and smoke clouds forming but I can understand why it’s so colorful… it’s to help the graphics and the Italian alps are relatively speaking a fairly colorful place with all the different colors in the mountains and the sunlight
@@weedwhacker287 have you seen ww1 footage of the italian front? There's constant fog hanging in the air. In the game the sky looks very clear and you can see way too far
@@namenloserflo that footage was in black and white, how can you even tell?
@@namenloserflo plus most if not almost all of the warfare on the Italian front were in the Alps, so naturally you'd be much closer to the clouds as opposed to while ducking in a Trench in France.
@@msbhicks8358 You're right, there wouldn't be much shelling most of the time. The sky would be relatively free while you're holding your position, waiting for an enemy attack. I imagine it quite beautiful. But right before one side would attack, they would throw everything they had at the enemy. Smoke and dust would be everywhere. The game obviously takes place during these intense moments of the war (would be rather boring if you would just sit there for a whole day) so the air should be pretty dirty.
There no Gewehr 98? Im 100/100 sure that in the weapon stats of the game there was a Gewehr 98
Maybe it'll come with the next German Army DLC.
@@Kerestin1 that do be why it's there. Also why there are German voice actors credited in the... credits.

It’s actually a aesthetic thing in the game that blurs your weapon when you zoom in. It’s called depth of field in the graphics setting and it can be turned off.

@@liszarezo3658 Shut up. A man can dream
It was just a prototype. Wasn't really military issue. Plus it would be unfair for gameplay, especially when the Austro-Hungarians never had a semiautomatic AFAIK.

The weapon sounds are very dissapointing
All rifles are pretty much the same, it’s kinda boring ngl…just bolt actions with different names and scope but does the exact same
