The CV90 IFV has a plethora of variants in War Thunder. Some are certainly better than others, with the CV9030 being one of the worst. The recent update from Gaijin added the CV9035 which isn't much better.

Day 67 of asking you to play the Challenger 2 Black Knight Spook, the hard kill APS can even intercept aircraft munitions which will help with your CAS issue! You may also want to take some HESH, as they have improved its consistency against single layer homogeneous armour since the last update.

Also, if you’re doing some gardening Spook, may I recommend carnivorous plants? They’re higher maintenance but very rewarding to grow, and absolutely fascinating. I would recommend doing some research first though.

The vehicle is also missing multiple features that would actually make it more stand out than the regular tech tree CVs, the 35 is supposed to have AHEAD ammo (they literally have the muzzle timer device ON THE MODEL) and should be up armoured (kind of like what the warrior in the British tree has going on) as it comes with armour package. It's also missing it's proper 2 belt feed system, for some reason, which would provide it with a higher ammo capacity before a reload is needed (currently in game it uses the 2 belt system to hot swap ammo types which is...okay, just a touch annoying if you're used to higher ammo capacities from vehicles like the Bradley)
Been waiting for Finnish BMP-2 for a while, wonder why are they not adding it (though if it is the latest variant it would only get the 30mm cannon)
the 9035 has 2 belt feed system, so you can effectively shoot 70 rounds before needing to reload, but since you swap belt feed it reloads while using the 2nd belt, so i bring 3 belts of apfsds and the rest is apds and he so i can swap to apds with 10mm less of pen while the dart reloads, and alot of people seem to not realize this
The apds also had significantly more spall than tge sabot

Wait, the 9035 has a two-belt feed modeled in game? Does it actually?
This should be the case for the Bradleys and the 9030 as well, but Gaijin has claimed before that they are unable to model this.
@@Iden_in_the_Rain yes, you just select 2nd ammo type and it take like 0.3 seconds to swap, minor correction is they no longer reload when you use a 2nd belt, becuase reasons i guess

Btw, it's weird how Gaijin models double feed guns - when you load two ammo types, you can switch between them in like under a second, but when you load just one ammo type, it makes it feel like only one ammo rack is used because after shooting all 35 rounds there's a reaload instead of just a switch to the second rack.
Funny how they won't give this vehicle the ability to track planes because the laser rangefinding method it uses isn't "reliable" in Gaijin's opinion, but the 2S38 has it because its electronics THEORETICALLY could do this and the BMP-2M has it too, even though it isn't capable of it IRL.
Also for those interested, the method is the tank lazes the target a couple times and then creates a firing solution.
No Russian bias going on at all here. Simply balance
Not russian bias, I’m sure plenty of other tanks have this issue as well, but those two are powerful because they are premium, not russian

its like how a NATO tank crews needs to be able to reload and fire in 7 seconds to qualify and most Russian Auto loaders take 10 seconds to reload.
yet the Abrams and Leo have like 10.5 second reloads whilst the T series get around 6-8 seconds

14:02 the gunner is still alive in the back. it is not intuitive, but the guy in the turret is not the one controlling the guns
As an Italy main, the fact the gunner is in the hull has gotten me called a cheater before
When you have three tech-tree CV9040s, including one with top-down ATGMs and another one with a radar and lead indicator, at the same or 0.3 higher BR, I don’t know why you’d pay the GE for this thing. If all of those didn’t exist, OK sure, but they do exist, and they are better, and you can build a full and potent lineup with them and the CV90105/CT-CV if you have them, or use the T-72 or even the Leo 2A4s for another 0.3 BR penalty. The only thing better on this is that it uses belts instead of a “ready rack” so you get your whole belt back at once instead of waiting for each round to be reloaded, but that’s it.

you were right at 0:50 , even old CV90s are Level 4 (14.5mm AP) rated throughout the important parts (front compartment sides, turret) and Level 6 (30mm APDS) from the front, with modern variants offering uparmoring from those levels. It's just gaijin nerfing swedish vehicles as usual, the Ikv91 being the funniest example
i really liked the new sounds, especially artillery and gun sounds. the 40mm's sounded so nice. people complained and now we have the cartoony sounds again

that's The SIDAM 25 that you were shooting at, the gunner is actually in the back of the M1131 chassis, where the Infantry would be in the APC form.

Yeah, the CV9035DK should have AHEAD. There are several sources mentioning the AHEAD, as well as literal videos where you can see the ammo airburst. There is a bug report on their forums which they have left unresponded for 10 days, meanwhile if you mention that it's also missing its LWS, they close that bug report almost immediately, without even checking the multiple sources there is for that aswell.
They have left the vehicle unfinished, and refuse to do anything about it, which disappoints me.
Not to mention that it's also supposed to be able to fire 70 rounds, due to its dual feed system. Right now it "works", but only if you take 2 ammunition types, because you are able to quick switch. It should be, if you only take APFSDS, then its either 70 rounds total, or 35 rounds with the same reload as the quick switch.
All cv9040s should have m/01 APFSDS and m/95 Proxy HE as well (this is provable with public official documents). I swear Gaijin has a hateboner against the CV90s in particular.

One thing I've learned with watching your videos is that turret traversal speed is tremendously underrated. So many of these vehicles I watch you play get impacted by it.

At 14 minutes the SIDAM gunner is actually in the rear right side of the hull, the guy in the turret can be dead and you lose nothing
The SIDAM 25s gunner is actually in the rear of the hull so killing the guy in the turret does not stop them from shooting.
The he shells also feel amazing damage wise against aircrafts from the test drive
CV90s all also come equiped with IRST according to publicly available BAE documents
All CV variants from the 40B (aka all exports) and onwards have all-around protection against 14.5 AP and frontal protection of atleast 30mm APDS. But for whatever reason this isnt modeled ingame

Attempt 38 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.

hey, Spook. you should really try the Strf 9040s. they're unbelievably more enjoyable than the other CV90 IFVs. the rounds are sooo much better when it comes to post-pen damage. it's ridiculous. best IFV in the game, in my opinion
The Italian Sidam anti air has its gunner in the back of the vehicle. Not sure why the commander is in the turret or if it's historically accurate but that's how Gaijin have it.
it may not have any TOW missiles but there are multiple other swedish ifv's in that br that do so if you had a lineup you wouldnt be in any trouble trying to engage mbt's frontally.

hey, if you're in need of punishing yourself, try the Vickers Mk.E in the Swedish tech tree. It's an utterly sad vehicle insofar as it's a light tank that can get 50cal'ed to death but only gets a 92HP engine, capping its speed at (theoretically) 36km/h, although sub-20km/h speeds are more common in actual combat scenarios. Even the War Thunder Wiki calls it a vehicle that had "very poor performance" and was "severely outclassed" by anything at its BR. Pretty much the only thing it has going for it is its APHE shell and 10 degrees of gun depression.
Anyone else confused with his repair times? I feel like an orange barrel sets me back 25 seconds with an aced 150 crew and all 4 crew members, but there he is putting a stabilizer and a red barrel back together in 7 seconds...

Autoloaders are eating shots or more specifically they absorb all the spall before it can hit the ammo

I recently revisited the Sheridan since my friend made it to 8.3. The missile seemed great, one-shotted everything. Then the Sheridan started to suck for me

You should play the Ratel 20, it is the size of a bus and it has a mouse-guided ATGM at 6.7, perfect for destroying King Tigers, if you manage to find a good position.

11:20 This might be totally unrelated but Ive noticed the T-62 on the test drive map has a completely empty carousel making it impossible to ammo rack. Im fairly certain it carried ammunition before the update

Day 83 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
