Happy Father’s Day guys. I have been on the look out for this blend. I picked some up from The Country Squire. If Tom likes this it has to be a good Va/Per since he is not a Va/Per guy.
Some of the other Va/Pers I enjoy include Dan Tobacco Salty Dog, G L Pease Windjammer and Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake. All have those Periques that are more dark fruit flavored rather than spicy.
Thanks for the great review! I just recently got back into smoking a pipe and have been smoking, unlike my previous efforts, a number of non aromatics. As I get used to them, Marlin Flake is one of the ones I’ve enjoyed. I live in Europe and can’t get a lot of the tobaccos reviewed on UA-cam, but I guess one of the advantages is that Rattray’s tobaccos are pretty accessible. Thanks again for a great review!

Not really close in my opinion. Golden sliced is a brighter smoke…more citrus notes.
