Jim was a future thinker, if you listen to "Do It" from Soft Parade, he is saying please, please listen to me children, you are the who will rule the world. He was wanting the youth to step out of their boundaries and use their influence. Jim was an avid reader who was greatly influenced by the beat poets. On December 8, 2023, Jim would have turned 80. I am only left to wonder and imagine what he would be like. The Doors music was a great influence on my life. All their music were masterpieces. I immediately saw that when they debuted in 1966, I was only 7 years old, but i knew they were different, that their music were pieces of art, museum worthy. My heart and mind are the museum where they reside. Peace out. ✌️
I got to see them live in Detroit, May 70. Great and long concert thanks to Jim for insisting on playing an extra hour to the dismay of security who finally gave in fearing a riot
You're such a mellow and open-minded dude! It's so amazing to see the enthusiasm of younger folks who aren't familiar with the classics and are turning on to this music for the first time! Heck, I saw the Doors in Hawaii in '69! It was $2.50 for a ticket. It wasn't close to the stage, but I got in! My first concert. What a night to remember!
Sermon? Less a preacher than a charismatic shaman guide leading his audience through the doors of perception. 😉 That montage was pretty good, fwiw. The audio was from New York, as stated, the footage was from many concerts and other excursions. When I was a little kid in the early seventies The Doors were like The Beatles. Even the pop radio stations were still spinning up "Light My Fire" every so often, before or after "Eleanor Rigby" or what not, from years earlier.
Each clip was live, it’s a compilation. When The Doors played everybody went crazy. Roadhouse Blues epitomizes the Psychedelic Blues of the late 60’s. This is epic… try watching live performances and you’ll see the cops trying to shut it down every time. Jim was rebellious and rightly so because they kept arresting him trying to stop the Music!!!
The Doors aren't just music, they are THEATER and the best front man for something like this was Morisson. My fav line from this song is " the future's uncertain and the end is always near" how true those words are .
Thank you for not interrupting the song. You r my favorite reaction tuber. Keep up the good work, I'll be watching your videos. Love your channel. Good job young man
When the music's over by the doors is one of the best rock songs of all time. It's a long song but there really no other song that compares. 5 to 1 is also pretty great. Also back door man. He'll, they are all great. Roadhouse blues is a great driving song.
G'day mate. Nice reaction. I thought i was Jimbo when i was 19, until the second had shop caught me stealing leather pants, no less. Now 55, i choose my jeans wisely. Love that you have a book of notes on the go.
I will always appreciate your Doors reaction! They are definitely in my top 10 favorite bands and I love seeing the younger generation listen to music that is timeless! I know I sound like a geezer for saying that last sentence, but it is how I feel at the ripe age of 29 years old
"Melting in a full mix she drinks lava. Beyond hot topics to indulge in. Staring up at failure how does this evolve. Pulling power downward. Calmly drag the high [?] throughout the day righteously. The giants grip graceful."
That was nice! Looking out from my little island in the Gulf of Maine, there is no color. The sky and the water are both steel gray, nearby islands are just shapeless hulks in a pale gray mist, it's spitting snow. The frozen bare bones of the hardwoods are gray. The fir trees and the wet ledges are black. The snow and the sea foam are white. In my world right now there is no color...
Oh WoW I **LUV** EVERYthing ya said! Yea man it was **All Happening** back then wish the F i could have been a teen back then more than anything ha he was def something different & special indeed holy WoW **GoodTimesGoodTimes** & i **LUV** Your **Poem** Thank YOU very much for sharing! & YAY yes always more doors **Best Channel**

Sad there is not a lot of their shows on film or videotape. Some of their most talked about shows were not even recorded on auto tape. Check out When the Music's over live in Europe. It was recorded in very good quality audio and video but is in black and white. Maybe the best of the best captured live on video.
If you are a fan of poetry Morrison did have a book of poetry published by an Simom and Shuster, 1970 titled "Lords and the New Creatures. When I was young in the 80's I vowed that I would own that book. I do own it. Bought a very good copy with a very good dust jacket for about $100. It's an interesting book and book of poetry. Morrison was a very good poet. I have quibbles and his style (not a minimalist) but have been influenced by his cadence. If you like Morrison's poetry, have some cash and want a book that could appreciate in value check out "Lords and the New Creatures." The Dust Jacket (DJ) is very important to the value of a book. As a sidenote when I bought my copy for a $100, a copy of Morrison's self-published book with all his bandmates signatures was selling for $2,400. Just $2,400!
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy .... why did you have to check out so soon? visited his grave and his apartment building. Sign on apartment building read. " Jim Morrison did not die here"
Jim's mannerisms were copied by many musicians & actors. Mick Jagger, Matthew Mc Conaughy using Jim's famous words ",Alright, alright, alright" . Long live the Lizard King.
I'm kinda disappointed you didn't react to Bob Dylan on MLK Day. He was a Civil Rights activist who helped lead the charge and inspired our nation with his poetic style of song. Dylan performed at Rev King's; I Have A Dream Speech freedom march. Bob Dylan's music is not for everyone BUT his songs were meant for everyone. It wasn't about his "singing" voice, it was what he said. Consider reacting to Blowin' in the Wind or The Times They Are A-Changin'
The cops were there to arrest him. He done a lot of indecent acts on stage. He was magnificent!
Damn but we had some awesome music back in the day.
Morrison was to cool for post 70's America. R.i.P Mr mojo risin.

Jim Morrison was the ultimate bad boy rocker but was a frustrated poet underneath....RIP Cool reaction w/the poem...!

To be there Live..was something.

Jim Morrison was a serious madman!

..."Class of 76"...Thanks for not interrupting it! I just subbed...RIP Jim...
Jim Morrison, the man, the Rockstar, the real sex, drugs and rock'n and roll. Saludos desde Argentina
The Doors always take you on a musical journey with any song
Jim was a menace in the best way possible.
I love The Doors but it's so sad to see Jim stoned or drunk or both at every concert. I really like your reactions
your poetry is awesome.. Thank you! ❤
I will always appreciate your Doors reaction! They are definitely in my top 10 favorite bands and I love seeing the younger generation listen to music that is timeless! I know I sound like a geezer for saying that last sentence, but it is how I feel at the ripe age of 29 years old
The doors❤ the car's hiss by my window 😊Don't track to check out next
Roadhouse Blues
oops
Hey Pope you’re doing a great job!
"Melting in a full mix she drinks lava. Beyond hot topics to indulge in. Staring up at failure how does this evolve. Pulling power downward. Calmly drag the high [?] throughout the day righteously. The giants grip graceful."
Reminds me of some of the lyrics in the Doors Peace Frog.
❤❤❤❤❤
Need to also do the studio version of ROADHOUSE BLUES !!!

Mr. Morrison, rock will always owe you a debt
Yes poems for doors only ❤️🔥👍
Jim was inebriated quite often while performing and did an obscene gesture once, hence the cops. R I P...
All poets drink or try to.
What a great drummer
Missed the Doors SLC concert it was banned and cancelled. The man feared Mr. Mojo Risin.
❤
Years ago they used to have a lot of live concerts on here, but the record labels and artists put an end to that. It was great while it lasted.
You're back! I'd be ok with a poem after every reaction.
As you can see the boys were pretty raw early and live, especially Jim. "The End" is CRAZY good man.
I just started writing poetry too, AND I have the same notebook! LOL!!!
Oh WoW I **LUV** EVERYthing ya said! You should absolutely have 180k subs not 18. Really enjoy this channel. Going to recommend it
Apparently a Doors concert was like a baptism of fire. I can't say; wasn't born...
Go to extended version pope. A must!
JIM WAS A MADMAN 😅
Check out the Hollywood Bowl Show. That is a great concert to watch.

Pope, you need to hear the version when he's scattin'!
The recording was live. Some of the video was too.
Ha had to pause at 1:20 to say i saw what ya did there heh & i **Luvit** AND wanted to say freakin **YAY** i can not wait to hear one of your poems & yep ya picked a great group to start doing this to (if in fact ya did just start doing it with the Doors sorry new ish subscriber here so have not seen everything yet heh) K just wanted to say i caught that & it totally made me **Smile** k goin back in for the rest...
Deep purple did a cover of this on their infinate album.
Jim was high AF
if youre lookin for another doors track to check out, end of the night is pretty good
its definitely psychedelic and has some similarities to the end

I like the poem. Please read it more slowly next time. I really want to absorb your words and meaning.
People are Strangers - The Doors...
The cops were not a friend.
🦎🫅❤
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy .... why did you have to check out so soon? visited his grave and his apartment building. Sign on apartment building read. " Jim Morrison did not die here"
NOT a sermon. An EVENT!
I always thought of it as a freak show
You reacted to Hendrix so now hear Janis Joplin, try Move Over or Get it while you can. You will be happy .
Liked Quaaludes. Who didn't.
I think he had an uncleanspirt
Don't try to figure out Jim moreson he was wird

this always kinda bothered me.. We see clips and flashes of these totally out of control concerts but we have never been given them in their entirety.
This is Roadhouse Blues not Roundhouse blues😂
Roundhouse blues.? 🙄
