- Day 2, pyrenees for real. gopro problems for real and the start of engine problems for real. All part of touring solo. Route used is route des cols.
I adore that part of France on a bike it’s just magic going through beautiful little villages, well done for doing it .
touring pace the best thing I've heard in ages, your on hollybobs just chill and take the views in, stop when you want take pics and drink tea result
Snap! I was there on the 28th April and the road opened on 1st May! It was a long way around to where I was going too. Thanks for posting the video.
Haha, I won't be making that mistake again.
Wow, that scenery is amazing. As for the Gopro, I bet it was overheating. They overheat in British temps so over there it must've been radioactive!😂
I'm envious mate, big time. Would love to be able to do a trip like that at the moment.
Stay safe bud 👍
spoiler alert, I do sus it out eventually, of course after all the best stuff. They are bloody temperamental things though. I've not even been through the footage to see what's recorded or not yet , I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It was a pretty cool trip and I only booked the ferry with 3 weeks notice. Cheers mehewd.
we are planning a trip to North Spain.. congrats on the channel. Keep up the good work.
Spanish roads are the best. Enjoy.
Good video, thanks for sharing ....
Yes, there are European vultures in the Pyrenees. Did you miss Col Somport ? Above the tunnel is quiet, the road Jaca - Oloron-St-Marie is worth a ride.
I did that many cols I can't remember which is which. 😂
Yup, it's a buzzard up there, waiting for some fresh road kill, looked like he was following you ;-)
Great vids. You were having GoPro issues when we spoke to you in the Picos last October!
I need to get back to the Picos and do it all again, once just isn't enough
Bloody gopros. Agreed, the Picos can't be visited just once. So many places and such little time eh.
Maybe use local restaurants, rather than munching on biscuits - in France between 12:00 and 14:00, a bit later in Spain. Set meals provide excellent valve.
Note that it's a legal requirement to wear gloves in France - I sometimes ride without, but just be aware.
Good attitude. Don't make hotel bookings in advance because it enables flexibility.
looks so nice with the snow cap mountians yea most passes will be shut that time of year
Great video here mukka
You should have more subs
Great vid. The go-pro issue could be battery heat which is solvable using a powerbank, and also saves having to change batteries every farts-end. Just bought an Osmo4 which could be another way of solving that problem.
I do use a powerbank. I used to be able to run a power bank without a battery in the gopro, never any problems. It then updated and then required the gopro battery in it, which I believe overheats. I think the gopro knows to stop when there's something interesting to film.
Looks like an amazing trip! What setup do you use to record voice audio when you're riding?
Cheers. I use a cheap laptop mic from Amazon with the gopro 10.
What bike is that? feeling a bit nervous going on my own but I'd rather that than have someone along I have to watch out for all the time.
Rudyard Kipling springs to mind'
Down to Gehenna or Up to the Throne, He travels fastest who travels alone.😄
@@roadwarrior8560 it's a bmw s1000xr. Nervousness is good. Complacency is not so good. Enjoy making memories.
How long did you stay at Hotel Punta, and did you feel safe having your bike parked outside over night?
Only stayed there one night. No problem parking right outside. I never felt that it would get stolen or damaged. There must be thousands of scooters in the area, and I never saw any security on them, which helps the mindset. I would imagine the very helpful receptionist would have warned me if it were to be a problem.
Quick question that hotel in San Sebastián you stayed in …..did they have secure parking or did you have to park on the road and if you did how do you normally secure or lock up your bike …? Hoping to make my way to northern Spain next year …..but to the Picos
That hotel,I parked right outside. I don't worry too much, its insured. I go on the basis that the hotel would warn me if it were a problem. You'll be fine in the Picos, it's mega. I do carry a D lock for the back wheel and a cable to lock helmet, jacket and trousers if needed.
Here's some footage of the route to Col D'Aubisque that was closed ua-cam.com/video/2rW7E3jD6AU/v-deo.html This was filmed in June 2023
80 euros cheap?
For the central location, yes.
