I really love this in depth explanation about the multifaceted introspection. I myself am very attracted to ordination - have been studying the dharma for the last two years seriously. Dharma is true knowledge in many many different ways.
This interview rings true about so many things from a modern perspective.
I hope I have enough merits to ordain.

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. Keeping the 5 precepts in real life isn’t easy because We have to mingle with many types of people, situations and these situations can test our 5 Buddhist’s precepts. I will do my best to maintain my precepts. So far, I need to let go of past resentments, anger and cigarettes that I Started when I was 18. At least, I know the reason why I picked up cigarettes. It was because out of resentment and self pity, things didn’t go my way so I picked cigarettes to cope with the situation at hands. It isn’t a physical withdraw anymore but it is a mental game that I am dealing with. I hope one day, I can get rid of them and be strong mentally. Om Mani Pad Me Hum.

I'm saving up ( by paying myself first and my bills last ) to travel from Melbourne, Australia to Perth Australia to become a buddhist nun when l'm 60. I'm 43 yo now, and still living at home in my mum's house looking after her as her full-time Carer on the Carer Pension and Carer Allowance from Centrelink ( Social Security). My mum is 71yo, she has Schizophrenia, Skin cancer, and Arthritis in arms and legs and can't walk at times due to Arthritis in her legs.
I've been writing in my journal daily for a few weeks now, l write what l'm grateful and thankful for to to have in my life. The idea to journal was from a Buddhist nun.

According to lord Buddha, an ordinary ignorant person wouldn’t be able to understand the true concept of Buddhism. To understand His teachings you need to be knowledgeable and open minded. Please do study the followings. 1.Four noble truth 2.noble eightfold path. 3.law of dependent origination. 4. Nirvana (Enlightenment). The highest/ Ultimate. Regards & best wishes.

This is beautiful... AND one doesn't need to be a nun or monk to practice elements of the Buddhist path she mentions. Being present, aware of reality and being kind are things we all can aspire to. Life gives us plenty of opportunities to refine our practice... which really means refining ourselves. She clearly articulates how this can happen. Thank you for this video. May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be happy. May all beings be free from suffering.

Dhamma has been in your mind since you were a child. I think Dhamma guided you to where you wanted to be. It’s not easy to peel yourself away from the attachment to home life, family, stuff you’ve been collecting, so, it must’ve been really difficult to settle down with. Listening to you, I’m thinking, you’re free from suffering. Attachment to way of life is suffering. You look so happy. May Triple Gem Bless you.

Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu, venerable Munissara! Thanks for this precious interview. It resonates to me so much! Having tried myself nunhood just for 2 months, I so much feel every word with the meaning behind it.... That realizations that you don't belong to the world of pleasures, but appreciate a deeper understanding of what is truly happening..! Wish to hear more from Venerable Munissara, also maybe some Dhamma talk! When she was talking about herself, she was so ... even fun and cool... and when she touched Dhamma, her look changed, intonation changed! We can see she speaks as if she carries smth fragile!

I noticed that too. When she was reflecting back on her old life she had the childlike smily gestures with silly face expressions too. (not calling her silly and it's nice to see nuns are human too) But once she started talking about Buddhism her whole body posture and look and everything became about seriousness and wisdom. you're very observant for noticing that !
love this interview because I also think about becoming a nun one day . she had given me ideas on where to start :)

In Asian culture, and by Asian I specifically mean those that are in the constraining grip of Confucianism and Taoism, it is very hard for men and women to break away from the stranglehold of their parents, who expect an enormous list of duties and responsibilities from their children from cradle to grave. I always have great respect for Chinese and Taiwanese monks. I know how hard it is to escape the family for the sake of Dhamma. For Asians who come from Theravada cultures, entering a monastery is more deeply understood.

Watching this at midnight wondering if I should dedicate my life to the Dhamma…
I want to but…part of me wants to also become a wife and a mother one day…but I also know deep down maybe that thought and desire is what society tells me that’s what I should do not what I want to do…
Life in this world especially during this day and age is truly very confusing…
I personally feel like the world is becoming more and more obsessed with the 5 hindrances and it’s making me personally more and more confused…
It’s becoming easier to live in the 5 hindrances because technology is at our side always….
I feel exactly how she did. I don’t know if I’m running away from life or if I’m seeking refuge….all I know is that mentally and emotionally…I’m very drained living in a world that is all about the current self….😔
I feel like the good karma and love I give to the world and others really attracts people…but…I feel like at the same time a lot of people I meet because of it think I am a weak person that can be pushed around.
It’s very hard trying to live in the Dhamma when others around don’t respect you for trying to follow your beliefs and teachings…
