    May Buddha bless you. You are lucky to have found Buddhism.
    I am not a nun, but l am lucky to be lead back into Buddhism. I nearly gone to a different religion if it was not with to blessings of Buddhas
    I know and confident I am on the right path in Buddhism.

      When I was 15, I died and went to the Afterlife. My religious education up to that point was Christian but that's not what I found. It was so much more. Buddhist writings on the afterlife describe my experience. I was definitely in the Bardo. Everything that made me who I was, like my like for asparagus and my petty annoyances, fell away. Dying was like, getting back to the business of being myself. I don't mean to imply that Buddhism is the only way. I mean that for me, Buddhism is the path that will allow me to make the most of my precious human life. It's not so much an attraction to Buddhism as how I find peace and tools so I can become a better person for the benefit of myself and others. It's more than a desire it makes sense and It's a drive. I've studied many religions and belief systems in my life. None of them"fit". This does.
      I am studying and learning all I can. I'm 51 and who knows how much longer I have to learn here. Being a nun would allow me to devote all of my time to studying and to serve others in a deeper and more meaningful way. There is a meditation center here in DFW, it's over in Irving and now that I'm moving back to Texas permanently, I'll be attending regularly. This is what I'll be doing while I look for the opportunity for ordination. I don't drive so it's a challenge but there is a bus!
      Thank you all for your advice and good will.

      Thank you. I've only looked at the monastery in Washington state. I read so much. I meditate, practice and learn but I understand that I must hold a certain set of vows for three years before I can ask Rinpoche for permission to become a nun. I don't get to Temple every Sunday. I will follow your advice and learn.

    • @melissarmt7330
      @melissarmt7330 7 років тому +13

      Not yet. Western monasteries don't have enough young nuns yet to care for older nuns and I've been told that at 51, I'm too old to receive full ordination. Then I had a heart attack (not because of the news). I feel conflicted because I don't want to inflict my medical care bills on any abbey or temple but I haven't stopped wanting to do this. I was heart broken but I haven't given up. There are other places to be a nun I just need money to make sure my bills are taken care of. In the mean time, I practice and study all I can.

      Listening to Life with KaZ I agree I don't believe in any personal god.. but I do have a personal relationship with God.. you know because yes my life was transformed but because he bares witness through signs wonders and miracles. That's why Jesus said of you don't believe me because of my words, then believe me because of the works that I do in my Fathers name. They bare witness of me. He knew without miracles that only our Creator could do, there was no proof that he represented the true and living God. The same works that we do when we lay hands on the sick and they are healed. The God of the universe has done many miracles through me. That's the difference. You never stop searching for the answer, and we have the answer and the proof to back it up. Buddah said i'm just a teacher, in search of the answer... Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. Think logically. Do you want to go to a math class and have your teacher just writing an equation on the boards? He doesn't know the answer, he can't tell you how to solve it.. just writing it up the for you. Big difference between our faiths my beloved. Praying a light goes off and I see you all in heaven

    • @thecodeofficial9880
      @thecodeofficial9880 4 роки тому +1

      PLAIN AS PLANE what we are saying are words but these words are truth and they are life. The miracles that Jesus did were more than words. The miracles God has done through me for others through faith in the name of Jesus is not words. It's the proof. It's the only one in the universe with the power to defy the laws of nature bearing witness to the truth of Jesus Christ. What buddah has is just words. What we have are words with demonstrations of real power granted from on high. God told me to pray for a blind man with a walking stick and he came back seeing with no cane. It's not just words my friend. Praying your eyes will see the truth

      Your comment and honesty are so uplifting and beautiful.
      I've felt compelled to a similar life too.
      Perhaps you can start where you are now by setting the intention you desire in meditation/silence.
      And then research monasteries in Asia where you feel most drawn to...
      In the silence, envision the end you feel compelled to, with the feeling of its fulfillment now and you will live it.
      The means will unfold...so long as you feel it's done. Focus on the end, not on the means :)

    Looks disenchanted with life the basic cause for her choice to be a nun. Needs deeper thinking about life, rather than escapism. Living can be a long, long time, depending on God's will. Hard to assess what will happen then There are stories of wicked older, senoir nuns too who have forgotten about being good persons even.

      nuns and monks dont worry about physical attributes and materialistism. They are past that. Thats the whole reason why buddhist monks and nuns shave their hair because they are unattached from the chain of worldy pleasures. They are free. You are in no position to tell someone, who is at peace and happiness, what to do or what not to do. Open your heart. In the end we are all humans going through similar strife trying to find salvation and peace. Bless.
