  • Hello my friends. Just a video on helping out anyone who wants to repair and save their handcart. Surprising how you have to remove the rim and tire from the handcart and where to buy the inexpensive tires from Harbor Freight. Good tool to have to move around ammo, gear, equipment, heavy water jugs, etc.
Thanks for watching and subscribe and I appreciate you clicking on the like button. Take care and God Bless.

Great Video! Thanks for taking the time to share your solution,I appreciate it! I myself am putting the front wheels of a Toro 1638HXL lawn mower tractor that I found in the junkyard on my Handcart dolley to haul around Half ton capacity floor jacks.

Thanks! I finally got around to changing my hand truck’s wheels today using your process and it worked like a charm 😀

Use a flat edge screw driver and a hammer to lightly tap around the edge of a push knot. That will spread them hem open enough to free it up. Tap it with a hammer to close it once it’s off and reset it. That simple.

I did exactly this. Worked like a charm. And I'm able to reuse the washer

After you get the washer and wheel off, drill a hole in the end of the axle and install a cotter pin. Much easier to change the next time.

Ever heard of a cotter pin? Thats what the hole is designed for. 1 min to install.

I used a Dremel with a cutting blade to remove the lock washer!

Amazon carries the lock washers and they have tubes for the tires too.

Yes I think a cotter pin would be easier to change

Thanks, good solution. However, next time perhaps have someone hold your video camera so we can see how you solved your "nightmare".

And move into the sunlight rather than filming in the shade. Thanks for a solution though !

That ring that is hard to remove is dangerous, it only works on the cart if you are moving light stuff and there is no strain on the wheels. My cart had lost it long time ago probably when I hauled washer and dryer. Dangerously without realizing I had lost that ring, I hauled my Yamaha amp. Thank to my lord, the wheel did not came off while hauling the amp. I solved my problem with double split clamping shaft collar.

Spend a little more and get worry free tires from hf. I've had mine for years. They're great.

Thanks for the info. I figured it would be an easy fix compared to buying new tires but I agree, I will get some worry free tires. Thanks for watching and the info.

Sounds like a good use for Fix-A-Flat!!

    • @Ghostginthree
      @Ghostginthree  9 років тому

Roy Munson You know brother I did use that, glad you mentioned this. I should have said something about it on my video. I did use fix a flat and it did work but the tire would go flat after a month or so, over 3 times. So not worth buying can after can to keep it going. This worked better and overall but glad you reminded me of this. Thanks.

All you need is a hinge clip or hinge cap! Lowe's or Home depot

Take a big hammer to the backside the wheel it will take off the ring and you should be able to reuse it

Let's see. I use hand trucks for moving around mostly boxes, stacks of stuff, small appliances, etc. Not so much ammo. #myloss

Believe it or not, it's called a "DOLLY". "Dolley" is a woman's name.

The washer looking fastener is called a bunch of different names: Push Nuts, Starlock, Star Washer, Speed Nuts, Push Ons, Push On Fixes.
Unfortunately I still couldn't find the size I needed in stores.

or put the dolly on the side and hammer the rims to push out the lock washer which is 5/8 of an inch
