Here is my thoughts on the g27 and I do a comparison between it and the Walther PPS 40.

The Walther weighs 19.5 with my Hogue grip and 25.2 loaded.
The Glock weighs 19.7 and 27.5 loaded.

Just want to say that as a Glock owner I'm not a snob about it, I genuinely enjoy shooting the Glock better than other types of handguns and the feel of it is so natural and I say that coming from shooting a 1911 as my first handgun. I've shot a variety of handguns including the M&P series (9, 9c, Shield 9, etc.) and I find them likable but Glocks are practically an extension of my body. I just got a Gen4 G26, I live in NY and you can't touch handguns without a permit (unless you are under 21 with family, LEO or NRA Instructor), my permit had some issues going through and I hadn't shot in upwards of 3 years or so. I went to the range the other day with a friend and shot his G17 and it was like no time elapsed at all, it was like making a bagel in the morning and I was shooting 6x6inch targets at 25yards with double taps no problem, same with the G23 and I also did pretty good with a couple of .45's. I think people should go with what is comfortable to carry and shoot. In the future I am looking at the M&P Shield for even smaller carry but glad I got to see a Walther PPS next to the G27 (same size as my G26)
EDIT: BTW I think you shoot the PPS much better, maybe it will take time but many praise the baby Glock's for their shoot ability, definitely saw a difference when you used the pinky extension on the G26 though, they make +1 and +2 pinky extensions from Pierce as well, some people like them while others use the basic extension that's untextured like yours. Ultimately up to you to decide which you enjoy the most and/or trust.

I never liked Glocks .. I like the g27 and trust it with my life! I had a g20SF on order and had to cancel my order when I was laid off. I looked into captions .. looks like I would have to type out every video myself .. I am sorry but I just don't have the time to do that for every video .. unless I'm missing something?

Yep. I was pretty much with your thinking about 25 years. Heard glock glock glock until I was sick of it and anyone that owned them. 8 years ago ran into issues with my carry guns and ended up holding-off a guy in Richmond with a jammed 1911...luckily he didn't know that. Bought the G27 in 2006 and still have it in my pocket today. Only a couple of stovepipe jams over a few thousand rounds. Now we own four glocks. Go figure.

How do you evaluate a firearm and you haven't shot it. At the end of the day how I put shots down range is what matters.
You're putting out something of the clock that you like you like the trigger pull like the night sights you like the capacity magazine but you say these things reluctantly why do people have such an issue with the Glock?
For the price 500 to 600 dollars you can't beat it anything breaks apart need it you can get it is compatible with other magazines in that line Glock 22 23 27 by the way 23 is my favorite so what is all the hate about and then you going to commit the most heinous sin of them all by putting a high point in the Glock box OMG! What material holster are you looking for?
I don't really use OWB .. I like IWB.
The 27 carries very well in the stock old kydex glock holster...put a G23 mag with a sleeve on it and I would not hesitate to use it as a primary uniformed police weapon. Buy a barrel and a 9mm mag and you have a 26. How good is that?
i went from taurus pt140 to gen 4 g27 never looking back. only issues i've had is trying to run that 15 round mag. i'll try an 11 round mag next but with the 9 rounder, zero issues and super accurate!

Is that the pearce pg2733 extender? If so you can add one round of .40. And on the 9mm you are supposed to be able to add 2, i have the 2733 on my 27 and 26 and can get 1 round in each...

Since this video I don't use the extended mag, I have floor plates from GAP Enterprise and they are awesome and keep the grip length short.
I have the same g27 an my mag with the "pinky grip " is actually a +1 extension giving me 11 when full
I have my guy trying to find a g20c for me.
my stock setup what kind of fall inside it making it hard to take it apart, I have not had that problem since switching to the Brassstacker setup.
You want to know how many rounds it would take to break it?
I remember seeing some guy put 10, 000 rounds through one without even cleaning it.

On the mag extension did you notice any bite on the pinky between the gun and mag. that was my only problem I had with it?

Yes .. I thought maybe it was a mag spring but it turned out to be a chuck of debris trap between the slide release and the frame. ..
Did you have any luck with the Phobus holster after lubing the interior and letting the G27 sit in it over night? Mine has become my go-to holster. Second choice for me is the Glock Sport Holster. I'm a portly man and wear my shirt tails untucked.
nice objective revue ! i have a g36 and have been waiting for mag extensions from glock store for 2 months. have you shot any other glock compacts ?
PS: What upgrades have you installed? I put a Glock 3.5 trigger connector in mine and it did lessen the pull needed somewhat. Also bought a Lone wolf 40-9mm conversion barrel for cheaper practice. Problem now is finding that 9mm ammo (HA)! Good luck.

I still need to do the trigger ... I did a frame plug and installed the Brass Stacker stainless guide rod assembly.
I also have the Wolf 40 - 9 conversion barrel.
How much do G27's go for now? Is the gen 3 or 4 better? I have a Springfield XD .40 cal subcompact and love it. Probably 1,000 rds through it without fail and it's accurate. But it's heavier (which prob helps with recoil) than most, but I love it. But what can you pick up a Glock for nowadays? Thanks
Just came across your channel when I noticed this video. I really appreciate someone who will give a fair evaluation, while setting long standing ideas aside. I think that is the main purpose of a review. I own a lot of Glocks, and have never assumed them to be end all be all. That is why also own Kimbers, Colts, H&K's and others. They all have good and bad features. Thanks for a great vid, and a fair review.

Talon Grips or Grip Tape helps A LOT when shooting this pistol. I have a G23 and G27. I found myself re-gripping the pistol between shots and it was driving me nuts. I threw some Talon Grips on them (sandpaper ones) and there is no more of that. I always wear a t-shirt between my body and my gun so the texture isn't a problem for me. Not just on the G27, but my G23 as well.
I wonder if they are less upgraded?
I had the pinky extension .. now I use the GAP Enterprises floor plate and wish I could get them for all my small guns!

I have a G 27 third gen, it is my carry gun. I had the same issue with the stock mag. I got some talon grips and now I love it, the grips really help with the handing

You can get 2 round Magazine extensions for G27 + use the 15 round and 22 round mags for backup.
The wrist break on the glock was my initial thought until i shot it & realized it force's me to draw down. Giving me alot more accuracy than other pistols. I understand this video is alot older than how long I've owned my 27. But there is mag extensions that add rounds as well. I put pinky extension on all my mags.
Well the fact is I shoot all Glocks very well ... this was my first and now I own a lot of them!

If you like a paddle holster, look at the iTac (non rota). I wear one of those daily when wearing a light jacket or more. I also like Galco's tuck n go for a deeper concealment (or summertime).

I know this is late but glad to see you digging the Glocks. I have the 19&26 and love them both. I use the Sticky Holster for my 26. I'm the opposite of you however,I like the flush magazines. Talon rubberized grip and meprolight nightsights are all the customizations I want for the 26 (gen3 don't like the stock grip as much as gen4).
My Gen4 19 on the other hand is near perfect out of the box. Only customization I made to that one was nightsights. Enjoyed the video,God bless.

I was not a Glock fan until I purchased a G27, and love it!! Gotta have the extentions on the mags tho. With the standard floor plates those mags are 9 rounds, but if thats a Glock extension it holds 11+1. The last two rounds are a pain in the rear, but if you force them, they will go. Now im looking for a G23 or G30 in OD. BTW, are those the Trijicon night sights?? If so, how are they?
I am a new gun owner and I got a fobus holster with a Makarov. I love the pistol but absolutely hate the holster. When I practice with it about every 3rd draw the holster comes out with the gun. I'm looking for something else. Any suggestions?

I guess it's all in what you're carry goal is. Sometimes I want it to be as compact as possible. Say a holiday get together with a lot of hugging. Other times like working I don't not worried about it and want more capacity.

I have been a 9mm proponent since my beginning as a shooter (3 years ago), so now I want to try other calibers, but I'm stuck between choosing either the 27 or 30! (.40 sw or .45 ACP)

I was not a fan of 9mm. I had almost entirely 40 10mm and 45.... not anymore.
I would say go with 45 because a lot of the 9mm has gotten so good that 40 is almost a non factor.
The Walther PPS has kind of a small grip and prefer having the Hogue on it. I hate the grip angle on the Glock yet I shoot it very well.

great video Ebomey, i have the G27 too. Get the extended mag release but file it down so the mag doesn't pop out accidentally. Also, they make pinky floor plates that allow for an extra round.
Dirty or mag springs .. I replaced the springs and have not had it happen again.

Great review,, fair and honest. My father was a gun smith. So from age 5-6 (1970-71) I've run countless rounds through countless firearms. We mostly re-blued/parkerized, so Pop hated Glocks when they first hit the market. (The polymer meant that we couldn't make any money on 'em)
As time went by and as we continued to drink good coffee and talk at our kitchen table with many trusted members of law enforcement, Pop grudgingly came around. The weight reduction of a Glock meant that officers suffered fewer and fewer hip & lower back injures that had forced many old timers into desk jobs and/or early retirement. In only a few years no one carried heavy revolvers any longer.
Not long ago I acquired a G-27 Gen 4/.40 in a sweet deal. As you point out, the mag release needed an upgrade. I made use of the large dovetail grip additions Glock supplied, and I replaced the sights with Tritium/fiber optic night sights. A Loan Wolf barrel w/comp rounded out the package. (pics are on my google home page)
I have found that the closer tolerances of the Loan Wolf chamber causes 180 grn rounds to feed/cycle less reliably than with the Glock barrel with their unsupported chamber. All lesser weight ammo feeds flawlessly. The comp makes little if any difference. However the 15 rnd mag with the ''sleeve'' increases the weapons size but provides more than enough grip. I've no problem with either mags. After less than 1,000 rds, she's coming along nicely.
Glocks are much different than the American institution that is the Colt 1911, on this we can all agree. Glock opened the door for different materials to enter the market. In the long run this is a good thing, as all competition is.
Both sides of Glocks love/hate conflict need to grow up. I've always owned a 1911, now I own a Glock. Both are great firearms in there own right, each with their strengths and weaknesses. For either side to claim that they ''can't shoot'' this or that for bull shit reasons is childish.
In reality, my favorite weapon will always be the one that's loaded and in my hand when hell comes to call. In that critical situation I will employ any weapon effectively. To do otherwise is to end up on the wrong side of the ground.

I carry the G27 Gen4. But I use 23mags with the Xgrip sleeve. Also I upgraded to a tungsten guide rod spring and the recoil is like a 9mm now.
I was doing the same thing with the mags .. I went with the stainless guide rod.

Do you still carry the Glock 27? I have a gen4 19 and a gen3 26. Love them both. The PPS and G27, and believe it or not a hi point are all on my future gun purchase list.
The g27 is no one of the guns in a hidden spot in my house. I replaced it with a g23 ... Love that pistol .. hell, love all my Glocks!
Yeah I got a g26 about 2 years ago and the first thing I did was put a bigger slide lock and a plus 2 base plate on both mags so I could get a "full grip" . But after you shoot it a while you will get use to it. now I find myself not squeezing with my pinky on all my guns.
Quick reply. Youll love the 23. the slightly added weight will help a bit with the recoil. Most important is to use what you like the most.
I'm not looking to conceal so I went with the G22.
Please tell me you do not carry with that neon green grip.

Good video. Always enjoy a bit of banter too! I also like most of the viewers have the 27. Also wasn't huge on Glock but got offered great deal. Came with tritium sights, diff trigger, threaded extended barrel and guide rod laser and it's just an incredible gun. I even have a 22rd mag for it for rainy days. It now has a silencer/suppressor and a custom ankle holster. Love it all. I carry it over my Kimber Ultra Carry; blasphemy I know. Ha. Thanks for the video and good to see all the gun owners out there protecting and exercising their 2nd amendment !
I just received a IWB or it converts to OWB from Pitbull Tactical and that holster is one of the nicest kydex holsters I have ever used.

hmmm my extension on the clip for the glock gives me 2 extra rounds, using the pearce grip. very good video on its review of the weapons, even after two years it is still relevant.
