  • Cow comfort is important, particularly with dairy cows. The more comfortable, the less stressful they are, the better for milk production. That same idea is being carried over to beef producers in a cow-calf operation. One beef producer in Kentucky is using the compost bedded pack barn concept to keep his cows and calves comfortable and under roof during the winter months.

    I watch Greg Judy with 400 head south poll and sheep with no buildings just keeps them year round out in the fields, breeds them there too. Feeds them 90% live forage or some winter hay. doesn't worm, saves a ton on infrastructure and feed. Just twice daily moves mob grazing with portable electric polly braid. Very happy cows living like they have been for 1000's of years
