I would personally love to see your campaign about Basil be released. He is a figure that I have wanted a campaign based on for a while ever since I read about his story in some history books. I know from experience that making campaigns takes much effort, time, and commitment so I applaud you for committing to it.
They fill the role of the normans of sicilly. Normans invaded Sicilly in the 11th century They founded several duchies and counties until finaly it formed a kingdom. The norman rule of sicilly lasted until the 13th century when the Holly Roman Empire took the crown and enssentially massacred the Norman nobillity

Normans settled for more than 100 years in Sicily, so the game I think is reflecting just that period. However, given the influence of islamic period in sicilian architecture and medieval culture, a mixed civilization, with normans and islamic (such as a camel unit) features could have been nicer!
Because they are normans. Norman mercenaries conquer south of italy and sicly to the lombards byzantines and fatimids, creating the kingdom of sicly. There is a whole serie in "kings and generals" UA-cam channel about it. Very recomendable.
You know, the Normans (men from the north), or just Vikings, which is basically the same thing, actually wandered all over europe and most of all the coastal western regions of europe.... the sicilians look like normans, just because they were normans too, of course mixed with south italians and north africans....vikings actually arrived there as they reached many coastal regions of western europe...some of them established in Sicily and in the south of Italy more in general...in Sicily you can find so many buildings built in Norman style.... also Byzantines had some specific Nordic warriors, the famous Varangian guard, that was the personal guard of the emperor.
@@andreamazzon3254 still, doesn't seems right. Sicilian is an ethnicity not a group of norman warriors that made some establishments there at some point for few hundred years.. Sicilians are more Italian and greek rather than Normans.
Knew it was Venice as soon as I saw the canoes, so I dont think its that much of a fail. The Italian cavalier looks so cool but I also think its probably too impressive for the skin of a generic cavalier. If they ever got paladin I think this would fit better.
There are many hero skins that should be reused for generic units to fit several civilizations. It’s strange devs had no problems with changing sails for ships for specific groups of civilizations. However land units were a challenge for them and decided to ignore it and give everyone European looking generic units.
The campaign seems fire bro, keep working on it, it seems incredible by now, also, I would love to see some kind of background of it, like a tutorial to create maps and campaigns
If i was good at modding i would have made an italian city state mod. And the CONDOTTIERO should have been a cavalry unit from the start since historically they fought mostly on horse.
Stratoi should be an uu for italians too... OR Divide italians on more kingdoms: venece, milan and papal states. If we have already Rome, why not the pope itself too? 🤔

@@francescosantelli1888 in that case they could just name them Normans. And true there were many Islamic influences as when as Greek and Roman.
Although I’m not a historian, I’m pretty Robby Lava mentioned in one of his videos that Sicilians do in fact look more like Normans than anything else
