Man, so glad I finally found this again. Ty's string-less guitar still cracks me up. Kind of cheesy, but they really nailed the quintessential '80s guitar pop sound and it's still catchy as hell. Bit weird to hear Dug singing about some girl, and obviously his heart's not in it based on those lyrics, but boy can he belt out a tune.
There used to be more live footage of Sneak Preview on UA-cam but disappeared. I wonder where they went. One song even had a part that wound up in a King's X song.
It is a great song. A good song is a good song. I don't care who it is by..or at what stage of their career it was written. A good song is simply a good song. Doug and the boys should release this as King's X.
Also..Doug's bass sounds a hell of a lot better in this song than in a lot of the King's X stuff. Sure, peopel always talk about his unique tone. But in a lot of cases, his sound gets swallowed up by the guitar cymbols due to how much high end he uses...and in other cases, it sounds like utter crap. Here, it sounds totally fine for the song.
@@uba2 lovely, of course, I'd have done the same. vinyl is there for spinning, not only owning or looking at it. :) again congrats on this incredible catch, enjoy! ✌❤
Sneak Preview, huh? 80s band huh? I wonder were they are today? Not bad. Lead singer looks a bit gay. The guitarist seems proficient. The drummer can bang a bit. They almost have potential.
intenselan I'll bet there is not much room inside that box. I mean, if they were all inside it. And why Nebraska? I have agirlfriend called Gretchen who lives in Nebraska, but she tells me it is full of all sorts of strangeness. She met this Mr Wilson, once. Said love was the answer. I'll have to ask Charlie Sheen if that's right.
Daniel Thomas Andrew Daly The Kids go to Nebraska 4 score and 7 years ago, not counting today, 3 gentle kids walked along a tired and dusty road. They did not know where they were going and they did not know where they had been, but they knew they were finding who they were, and having the fine and dandy time of their life. Everything was real - and everything was surreal - because they knew they had entered 'Gloryville', that ole Texas town of southern hospitality, fried chicken and gospel choir alleluias, but something wasn't quite right. 'Corrupters', one voice screamed. 'Our children are under their influence,' said another. 'Run em out of town,' said the sheriff. And so they got booted out of Gloryville 'We never fitted anyway,' said one of them. 'Too straight for me,' said another. The third kid carrying the drum-sticks said 'Look. A sign.' A sign, summarily blessed by the bounteous provision of angelic duty, shimmered down from upon high and suggested to them in radiant white letters. 'The Kids should try Nebraska.' 'Wasn't the whole point to get to Gloryville?' one of them asked. 'Nebraska sounds Mundane,' another suggested. Finally the kid with the drumsticks asked 'What do they do in Nebraska then?' Suddenly, a familiar looking young lady, with a big, bold and beautiful scarlet 'G' emblazoned over her dress dropped down from the heavenlies and smiled at them. 'Had your fill of Gloryville, huh?' They all nodded as one. She chuckled. 'Serves em right,' she thought to herself. 'Well, I FINALLY got to Nebraska myself. Auntie Christine had been beside herself with worry, my boyfriend from last summer had finally gotten tired of waiting and found another girl, and the job promised me was taken by another. So I ask you, my dear boyfriends, In going to Nebraska, was I too heavenly minded to be no earthly good?' The Kids stood perplexed. 'Exactly,' she wisely replied. 'So the next time the wisdom of the ages tries to kidnap you from your sensibly laid out earthly plans - GET THE HELL OVER IT, OK!!! Jesus!' And then she was off, back to her prior place of glory.' Finally one spoke. 'You know, remember when we just found who we were?' 'Reality intervened,' said another. 'Lets go to Nebraska,' said the kid with the drumsticks. And leaving nothing behind, and taking everything with them, they returned to the real world, and caught the next bus to Merriman, a lovely town in northern Nebraska, a place their destiny awaited.
Thankfully their music evolved exceptionally well. This is just plain awful, even for it's day. Interesting for sure, but awful. Appreciate the upload.
"We Were Born To Be Linda."
Monster bass tone from Dug even in the day
"Everybody Knows A Linda Bit Of Something."

I love how despite the very different song style, the tones and playing styles are basically the same.
There used to be more live footage of Sneak Preview on UA-cam but disappeared. I wonder where they went. One song even had a part that wound up in a King's X song.
Jerry is groovin'!
Yeps
Their signature tones on an early 80's vibe. Still just as awesome. Would love to hear them pull this one out live
"Linda Goes To Nebraska."
iluvj50 lmao!! love it
Dude I'm sorry but I LOVE this song hahaha
HA HA~! I was just thinking the same.
It is a great song. A good song is a good song. I don't care who it is by..or at what stage of their career it was written. A good song is simply a good song. Doug and the boys should release this as King's X.
Thanks for uploading this, you can really hear the key elements of the band forming along with Ty's signature guitar sound.
Doug with the Little Richard hair do. Awesome tune!
Love them so much, even back then!!
"Faith Hope Linda."
Linda in Germany
As always...and forever...rock'n and beautiful at the same time. Their own ingredient...their own sound.
Man! Y'all sound YOUNG! LOVE it!!
Everybody Knows a Little Bit of Linda
I love Dug's Bass tone (as always)!
Yes
Wow rare....thanks for the upload.
If not by youtube we would never know these things, cool
This is a surprisingly good song.
It is no surprise..look at who wrote it. It is the same band we all love. Just a different name hehe

Black Like Linda
Fish Bowl Linda
Very 80’s. Very awesome. Still sounds like King’s X.
This sounds fuckin GREAT!!!
They should cover their own song. Like they did on the black like Sunday. I like this riff a lot.
I wish they hadn't destroyed this album! It's really good!
Totally. Didn't the destroy it because they simply didn't like the cover???
Always sounded to me like Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"...
Sounds a little like Klaus Meine from Scorpions
Ms.Linda
This sound kind of AORish, but you can still identify clearly is King’s X.
Reminds me of Jessies Girl
I have been searching for this album, word is very few were produce and the band destroyed most of them because they hated the production value.
Ty Tabor has great guitar tone.
wgc1968 like allways !!!
Ripping Ty solo.
Yeps
Nice song in a cheesy *0's way gotta love the *0's when everything was simple.
That was meant to be 80's lol
231 Wed 4/1 20-20 ...
doug=awesome
My Mom's name was Linda.
Part- Tubes/Rick Springfield and the Outfield- but still 100% King's X and dUg... were they ever NOT AMAZING???

Really dude? I hope you are being sarcastic.
Wow,....you have names.
I heard they all went to Nebraska with Mister Wilson and travelled inside A Box.

This was the typical generic stuff until they found their songs, sound, voice, and style.

The intro sounds like "Summertime Girls" from Y&T.
Spot on. It sure dies.
