I’ve flown first class on Hawaiian, but only on its now-retired 767s and once on one of its 717s. Never had a chance to fly first or business class on its A321s or A330s so far. It remains my favorite U.S. carrier because it’s not only headquartered in my home state, but I’ve always felt the aloha spirit as soon as I’ve stepped on board. Glad you enjoyed your experience. 🤙🏽
Love Hawaiian, probably my favorite of all US based Airlines. Maybe the destination helps a bit, but having flown all their products in all classes, I've overall been thoroughly impressed with them.
@@pizzadispenser1389 If things go as planned with the Alaskan/Hawaiian merger, looks like you may get your wish. I hope it works out too, Alaskan has a great mileage program.
Been to Hawai'i 3 times, never been able to fly first class (always comfort+ or straight economy), but this shows what I've been missing out on! Thanks for sharing
Paul Lucas (Wingin' It channel) just flew Dzaoudzi (Mayotte)-St. Denis-Orly on Corsair (A330-900neo business). Mayotte is closer to Paris, but the flight goes backwards to Réunion first because the runway at Dzaoudzi is too short for a fully fueled A330 to take off, so it takes off light with little fuel for a shorter hop to Réunion, refuels there, and takes off from the longer St. Denis runway nonstop to Orly.
Excited for you to eventually fly the new Hawaiian 787 hopefully first class! (I work for the company that Hawaiian collaborated with to design the new cabin)
I retired from UA as a a Customer Service Team Leader out of EWR (Newark Liberty Intl Airport) and we had a non stop flight daily from EWR-HNL and it was a 10.5 to 1100 hr flight non stop! 9 hrs from IAH is a few hours shorter!
Yeah, contrary to the bulk of political garbage that "swirls" out of Texas, the people seem very genuine and friendly. I drove through Texas at least 60+ times in my ten year long haul driving phase of my working years. Knew a few Texan's while in the Marine Corps as well.
@@Wolverines77 Texas is actually quite normal politically in the big cities, especially Austin. It's in the rural areas that people tend to go overboard with conspiracy theories and other far-right garbage.
When I moved from New York to Hawaii, I used to take the Hawaiian no stop between HNL and JFK all the time. For a US based airline (I know, that sets the bar pretty low), I always thought they were pretty good.
I did it in 2019 from HNL-JFK in eco class and it wasnt great at all, the seats they use are not made for flights that long, west coast USA would be tolerable in them but 10 hours, no
Mr. Phillips if you ever decide to re-visit Tucson now that your in Texas, give me a shout, I’ll show you around and see what I can do to give assistance in giving you a proper tour of the world famous military Aircraft boneyard.
Always been interested in Hawaiian airlines and Hawaiian history in general. You right it is really one of the much nicer A330 liveries & the service on board seems great! I think this is definitely an airline that is going to be added to my bucket list.😁 Great Job again Noel!
11:39 ...walking through the massive concrete underbelly of parking garage and car access ramps: Noel: "How cool is this beautiful, beautiful part of the world!"
I live in Texas. By car it takes over 6 hours for me to drive to El Paso and 6 hours to drive to Houston. Austin is a good 3 hours away. Yup, Texas is a big state. Texarkana is closer to Chicago than it is to El Paso.
Great video, Noel. We fly Hawaiian quite a bit out of SEA and I agree, the service and food are top notch and much better than the mainland legacies' service to the islands. I hope you got to try some of the 717's on interisland service, or one of the copters that gets over to the Forbidden Isle of Ni'ihau!
Your move to Texas shows. You look very happy. Waiting for your next video. It would have been nice to take Rach with you. The hotel even at the airport looked refreshing with the pool and ocean.
Thank you for including the meals in your video. I'll be flying the BOS-HNL leg in 2 weeks so it was helpful to see what I'll be served (the AUS and BOS/JFK legs have the same menu).
Another great video. One of the secret flights of Hawaiian, maybe not so secret. Is the Hawaiian flight to Sydney Australia. The perk of that flight is that you get to spend a full 24-hour layover in Honolulu.
Looking forward to this video! Hawaiian is one of my favorite airlines! I remember the golden days back in the 80's, after moving from Dallas to Kihei, I would always keep an extra voucher booklet in my glove box! Great airline for the most part! Enjoy your flight, Noel, and Aloha!
I just did ORD-HNL last Tuesday at 8:48 and HNL-DTW just now (7:55). AUS-HNL isn’t as far…BOS-HNL is the longest domestic passenger flight (in the 50 states). I’ve done LAS-HNL on HA’s A330 in F class. Seats are comfortable but a little funky to get out if you are in the window seat.
The longest domestic flight within the USA is from Boston to Honolulu. I believe they had this route at the time of your video. They had jfk to Honolulu for a while though.
We're in Northern California, so we like to take the direct flight on Hawaiian. The cabin crews on Hawaiian have always been super friendly and amazing. The Hawaiian ground crew at HNL is a totally different story. Sometimes they are fantastic, but often some of the worst service I've ever had in an airport. Overall, I really like Hawaiian.
Noel, what explanation do you usually give your nearby seatmates that you'll be recording and speaking throughout the flight? Do you ever experience people who'd rather you be quiet and not film?
For anyone concerned or wondering, that wasn't Noel's Mom. He said "She was a lovely old lady from Austin going to see her son in Hawaii, she was more than happy to be in the video we spent most of the flight chatting about UA-cam 😂"
Noel, thank you for continuing to share these videos with us. Lately, I’ve noticed a fair amount of negativity in the comments. Please be assured that most of your viewers enjoy and appreciate what you are doing! As someone who’s lived in Hawai’i and flown on many Hawaiian Airlines flights, I enjoyed this edition very much.
Hey Colin, thank you so much for the kind words! Yes there are a small minded minority out there, but these days I find it much easier to laugh them off! Appreciate your support mahalo!
Hawaii the gateway to the US from Australia …cheap Jetstar tickets from Melbourne or Sydney then use points to get to New York because it’s treated as a domestic US flight
Noel, in the Summer of 2023, you should do a family road trip video of you'all driving out to Seattle through Salt Lake City and then back through Portland, San Francisco, LA, Phoenix, Santa Fe, Dallas and back to Austin. Rent a motor home for the trip and have the kids do a lot of the filming in the RV. I think it would make for a great video series and a fun family trip across the West of the United States.
The amount of petrol it would take to fuel an RV on a trip like that would cost the equivalent of 4 first class seats on HA's AUS-HNL flight for Noel and his family.
I used to live near Fort Worth, and flying my own little airplane, a Long-EZ that cruises at 150 kts, it would take me three and a half hours to get out of Texas, and then only an hour-and-a-half to cross New Mexico and Arizona to get to Tucson.
Did you stay and fly on their 717s? I'm not sure if they are flying those anymore but I flew one from HNL to KOA a few years back when I visited 3 of the islands

I flew from JFK to Honolulu in the early 2010s on Hawaiian, very long flight. I was a 'If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going' kinda guy, but I really enjoyed the A330!
I've flown HNL-JFK and HNL-LAS a lot, all economy. Will be flying Hawaiian HNL-BOS in a few months. I may try out the extra comfort seats for the longest domestic flight. 5095 miles.
For the longest nonstop domestic flight over contiguous land, I'm thinking it would have to be something in Russia like St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. Honolulu to Boston, Alaska to Puerto Rico, Paris to Tahiti, UK to Falkland Islands, etc. all involve overseas domestic flights.
Did you have to climb over the person in the seat next to you to get to the aisle or is it an easy access? Wondering if I should get an aisle or window seat. (I hate having to climb over someone.)
In theory, the window seats are meant to allow you to walk around the aisle passenger. But in reality, unless you end up next to someone vertically challenged, you’ll have problems!
Flight Price: $2018.54 / £1668.99. $0.33/mile
That's my airport
Oof. That ain’t cheap, but the comfort on that long a flight might be worth it!
Noel, you should've done Boston to Honolulu, the longest domestic flight in the US at 11 hours!
You're right, I just sold this flight to 2 of my clients (I didn't even know HA is flying this route non-stop 4x a week)👍🙂
He lives in Texas so it was easier to do this

Yes, United has a Newark to Honolulu, which is a longer flight
