      Red Rock Crawlers never good to go alone great video. I’m looking for tough but fun trails for our trip to Moab in November. What size lift and tires do you have? And are you running stock Axle shafts and Gears or have you done a regear

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  6 років тому +1

      AZ WESTSIDE WHEELERS we have 35" tires with a 4 inch lift that has sagged down to probably 3 inches. We've upgraded axle shafts and gears with Yukon Gear. It crawls really good ever since we did those upgrades!

    Am i the only one who thinks that yellow jeep pushed his front axle forward? That things a champ

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  5 років тому +1

      Maybe the first one to say it. But yes it was stretched front and back

    • @jeffdoster8277
      @jeffdoster8277 5 років тому +1

      That is me in the Yellow LJ. It is stretched out to 115" (Stock LJ is 104"). The front is stretched as well, and boy was that a challenge.

    Hummer hill was much more intimidating in my Tj with stock wheel base but we went straight up. My legs got a little jello like though 😜

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  6 років тому

      T T haha yeah those short wheelbase rigs can get sketchy on some of those climbs. But we all know real jeeps are 2 doors anyway right 😂

  • @Captain-Awesome

    I noticed a lot of the BFG’s KM2 and KM3’s. As well as the Toyo Open Country MT’s. Which one seemed to perform the best. Have you noticed more chunking from your BFG’s than what you saw on the Toyo’s or did you pay attention? Great Video BTW!!!!

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  5 років тому +1

      The BFGs are great tires but because they are softer than something like Toyo or Nitto they do chunk. I have one lug on mine that you can see belt underneath... Oops. But the BFGs grip so well on the rocks I've really enjoyed them. I'm considering Maxxis for my next set

    • @Captain-Awesome
      @Captain-Awesome 5 років тому

      Yeah I have a had some chunking to the belt on my KM2’s on the XJ in my thumbnail too. What sold me on the KM3’s I just put on my Son’s Rubicon was the lower road noise (according to Discount Tire). The road noise kept me away from the Toyo MT’s on my Raptor but as I am to the end of tread life on the Toyo RT’s it’s time for a replacement. Trying to weigh out the pros and cons for my next set. I haven’t looked into the Maxxis tires for a replacement since my truck doesn’t see much offroad time here in Dallas, TX area but want something that looks aggressive. On the road noise aspect the Discount Tire rep told me when the tires have an open section in the middle of the tread blocks they will howl more going down the road.

    Watching this makes me regret/scared I got a stick. How tf do I go up the first hill shifting !

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  2 роки тому

      That’s a great question. I had a stick before the red jeep. It’s definitely harder to wheel a manual but not impossible. I would probably just climb it in first gear and pin it to win it 🥇

      Dixie 4Wheel Drive is in St. George and Moab. St. George is only 2 hours from Vegas. Where in Vegas are you? I lived in Eldorado and Summerlin for a while. Love Vegas and miss it.

      Red Rock Crawlers I am in Centennial Hills. Northwest out by the Mt. Charleston Exit. Going to Moab next week for the Toyota event (I have a lifted 2006 tundra) and MTB rides. I have heard nothing but good things about Dixie. I have been in Vegas 22 years but originally from South Lake Tahoe. born and raised there. I really need another Jeep!!!!

    Looks rather foolish to hold a rope connected to a jeep going down a cliff. No amount of guys can hold a falling jeep. What you wanna do? Go down with it?

    • @RedRockCrawlers
      @RedRockCrawlers  5 років тому

      michael wier haha the idea is not to stop the Jeep going down the cliff of course. But having that extra tension on the back will in fact help the Jeep from falling over frontwards as it drops. It's not really necessary on a 4dr Jeep but absolutely helpful on a 2dr
