This game is going to be huge, in more ways than one. After simply breathtaking review scores across the board, it has a huge expectation to live up to among us regular gamers. But almost every account so far seems to point towards the high probability that this will be one of the best games you've played in recent memory. The main caveat here is how much appeal it could have for people who have shied away from Soulsborne titles. Their challenging and unforgiving nature has kept many a player from trying it out. I broke that trend in 2017 when I played Bloodborne for the 1st time, and I was glad I did. But until now it remains my only experience in the franchise. Let's see if this new open world style with even greater focus on diversity will inspire more players to give it a go.
The playthrough is likely to be very long, spanning tens of hours even after editing. Buckle up for a long journey, this is one of those games that seems like it definitely should not be rushed. Enjoy the ride!

I think the healing item refreshes at a grace, similar to estus flasks in the souls games (I know you've not played those but just as a comparison to previous FromSoft games) might be worth just keeping an eye on the number of items when you respawn/rest

I know you're a couple of episodes in now and I don't want to jump ahead, but you may have a bit of an easier time if you turn the HUD on in the options. Being able to always see your health, stamina, MP and what items you have in the use slot may make the game a little smoother for you. Otherwise, good job on figuring most of the game mechanics out. Souls games are rather obtuse in explaining their mechanics. At least in this game they put in a tutorial area and the start of the game. After your first death the ghost guy that said to drop down the hole is where it is if you haven't found it yet and are interested.

Why don't you try to do execution like in bloodborne ? If the mechanic is maybe present in the game
