The words “Destined death” not only refer to her killing you, but also to the rune of death

Similar to how NGS+ works in Dragons Dogma, every new playthrough ends with you fighting your last character and taking their place or fail.

Elden Ring looks like an prequel for the souls series, where after everything burns on the franzied flame, the world becomes an ashen wasteland ruled by dragons, i know i'm overthinking but, there's to much tease on this game! and i loved it

I wish we could see her reaction if you get the frenzied flame, save her from the fire, then use Miquella's needle to tame the flame and become Elden Lord normally

This has to be the most amazing evil ending I've ever seen. Intense. Terrifying. All hope lost indeed as the world you've become accustomed to is burned away. And your one most supportive ally is bent on killing you. Its breath takingly awesome.
There is a way to further run it into the ground. You can take the frenzied flame _after_ Melina burned herself in the forge. So no one can stop you from ending the world, you don't even get that last cutscene, it's just over.

If you let Melina burn herself in the forge before trying to secretly inherit the Frenzied Flame, you're basically a manipulative bastard at the point of the game.

Definitely the firekeeper. She's innocently doing her job and she trusts you, even not rekindling the fire. Melina keeps shit from you and seems the type who'd happily stab you in the back if it suited her purposes. She's no soft target.

Really hoping From adds something if you take the Flame of Frenzy, use it to burn the Erdtree in order to save her, and then use the needle to subdue it.
That's what I did hoping that she'd come back and acknowledge what I tried to do, but no, she just disappeared forever. Such a shame, I thought they'd know players would think of that because it was so obvious.

I love that the game literally lets you go down the path that'll lead to everyone that gave a shit about you leaving or dying. They go to such lengths, both directly and through the lore, to explain why that going through with this is a *very* bad idea, like the fact that one of the bosses in the game, Vyke, was just like some of us, who wanted to save his maiden and got burned by the flame. It's like Melina knows what will happen, since it's happened to so many poor souls before you

@@mordekai3221 the black blade is the weapon used by Maliketh. Melina’s weapon in the morgott fight as a summon has nothing to do with the black blade. Maliketh also talks about “destined death” in his boss fight and just in general “destined death” is said a lot in this game.

DLC: Melina and your character's Mimic Tear go after the Lord of Frenzied Flame. That way you still get to keep your character's looks, stats and equipment.

Not really canon ending, since no DLC is possible. The whole land basically burns with the frenzied flame. DLCs add like a new area, but this would need to be a fresh game completely. Since the tree gets completely destroyed there is probably also no Elden Ring left.
The revenge scene gave me chills. Her other eye is open as well. An appearance vastly diffrent from when u met her. I'm curious as to what this visual means. The reveal of her left eye has me both puzzled and intrigued.

For me its curious because the eye that was opened is exactly the one that Ranni has closed. Other thing is that the blue eyes that you can see in this ending has the exact same color of the Ranni eye.
Unfortunately I missed that scene at the end with her because I let her sacrifice herself after the giant battle and after that I did the flame of Frenzy quest to activate that ending. So for me Melina was already gone and thus didn't show up after I got the lord of Frenzy ending.

Imagine if this would be the canon ending, and in the upcoming dlc you would have to be playing as Melina hunting down the Lord of frenzied flame.

Ranni is a doll currently, there is no way to know how her flesh body looked like. According to one of her item's description, the doll body was modeled by the snow witch that was her mentor.

It sounds crazy but you think the undiscovered ending is when ranni and her somehow work together for a new age against the chaos you bring? Then it would be like before...a war without end leading the lands between in a stale mate like at the start of the game
This kinda feels like the Shura ending from Sekiro. Both Emma and Isshin try to stop you from turning into a monster. Only here Melenia doesn't get to fight you yet.
I'm glad this game has both hero and villain routes, I found theres never enough of games that you get to play as the villain, as much as I'm a good guy myself, I found being villains in video games is more fun than being stuck as heroes all the time

Turns out if u visit the forge of giants and she sacrifices herself and THEN you get branded by chaos she won't show up for any of that(cus dead of course) all I got from my frenzy lord ending was the burnt out tree and it ended before her part

At this point, I’m convinced if you go frenzied flame there’s going to be a special dlc. And how I’d imagine it wished it could be is you having to try and thwart Melina’s plan to assassinate you. It’d be like some type of game of cat and mouse sort of, with Melina’s soldiers and knights jumping you at random intervals. And whatever bosses are left side with her in trying to kill you, fighting a more holy/golden order esc boss.
Certainly would be explained better, but still cool to think about.
They would not make DLC just for one ending while ignoring the others. DLC from FS don't really work like that.

there is a little hidden office area right at the forbidden lands lift, if you go in there, there will be a dagger referencing a long lost oath of a past maiden who owned the dagger delivering destined death
Yet there is only one way to save her, to be the vessel of Frenzied Flame. A it stands too Miquellas needle is still not fully explored as the description tells us that it is unfinished, meaning there may be more behind it.
Has anyone tried getting the sacred flames to not sacrifice melina, using the needle to cure it then see if she appears in any of the other endings?

I get the impression that inevitable DLC will expand on using and then curing the Frenzied Flame. At this point, we don't truly know WTF the Three Fingers creature truly is or whether or not it served its own master than might resent your efforts to tame the Frenzied Flame.
Melina was the best character in this game. I hope there is more to see with her storyline rather than what's been found currently.

@Heartless Angel Ketsueki you can talk to melina througout the game but only at specific grace sites i remember talking to her after defeating the magma wrymm
For a companion that travels with you to reach the erdtree she is really forgettable and you need to be on specific site of grace which are missable since there's no prompt just a new option at the very bottom... And most of those are just lore of the area your in.
she was barely in this game, definitely not enough to tell whether she had any personality.

Melina only has 1 purpose, to set flame to the Erdtree by way of making you elden lord and enacting a new order. She is destined death, the gloom eyed queen.

I’ve had this theory spinning in my head for a while now. So basically as far as lore intakes (assuming you want to link all the games together through lore); I see that the Frenzied Flame ending is almost like a “doom-driven” ending. *You* (I guess on a celestial level) are doom driven to repeat the same outcome as you’ve always been fated to complete, every single time you’ve been “reincarnated”: To set the world aflame. In your previous lives, you have always been fated to “continue the age of fire by linking the flame” and in order to do so you must sacrifice yourself, by setting yourself aflame. And now, unbeknownst to yourself, you now cannot help yourself but to continue to burn the world. Out of Old Sins. (Assuming this is a “sequel” per day)
Assuming this is a prequel: maybe this would be the fire canonical ending of fire? A rewriting of how the age of flame truly became about the world. And after fire of this world settled (ions after the ending) the age of dragons and the whole beginning of Dark Souls, where mortals must now rely on the flame in order to survive.
I don’t know, please don’t take my word as gospel. It’s just theorizing. It’s not supposed to make sense
although it is a cool theory, it is not on the same universe as dark souls as far as i know. It is a completely different thing.
Except the First Flame was a naturally occurring phenomenon that was unnaturally kept going by using great souls as tender. The Frenzied Flame is the very essence of chaos and madness that will only consume and destroy. I don't believe the two are remotely connected.

Anywyas, what if there are two cannon endings so far? Everyone forgets that there are multiple parallels earths within this game, of other heroes doing different things? What if "The Age of Stars Ending" and "Lord of Frenzied Ending" are the true endings? Then Melina goes over to a different earth, where the hero did not chose the Lord of Frenzied Ending, and uses them to kill the Lord of the Frenzied Flame? Then you have an extension of the game for "Frenzied Flame."

I disagree. DS3 pressed that keeping the Age of Fire going was unnatural and that's why more and more souls had been required over time. Allowing the Age of Dark to begin allows the world to move forward. Ultimately, this is a metaphor for change. We all fear change to some degree, but resistance is rarely better than acceptance.
@@silverblade357 This is not about change. This is about embracing nihilism and following a destructive path, the equivalent of becoming a school shooter. There is no change. That would be any other ending(aside from Ranni's). What you get with this ending is wanton destruction either out of malice, grievance or resentment. There is nothing but negativity in following this path and the results reflect that.

So could we assume she is the gloom eyed queen who was in charge of destined death and taught Ranni her skills? After beating the black blade I think it released the restrained on the gloom eyed queen. As for the right eye unsure however the beast eyes look simular to the gloom eyes and are locations of death roots. I at first thought the beast clergyman was the black blade considered he alone wants death and no one else. I do like the lore although as with the other souls games I wish they explained just a bit more theory crafting is exhausting.
U can do milicents questline and when she dies at the end and drops her needle, u can go to malenia(after u beat malenia) and go to where the rot aeonia is and u will be able to make the needle into miquellas needle which makes it so u can control the frenzied flame and be able to do a different ending

Okay, Morne never shows up in the souls series. At all. It's Irina and Eygon, Eygon just wears armor that was modeled on how the actual Morne looked.
this was my first ending, got it by accident, but never spoke to Melina about it
Reading the lines on the wiki and hearing them are very different. It felt like she was all but holding back tears in the video when asking you not to do it. I may try it one playthrough just because it keeps her alive, even if her purpose is killing you.
Oh well, something to add here, on my first run, i got the lord of frenzy ending....buuuut i already burned melina so yeah, no bad ending for me, i just became zauron :)

to sum it up - she will look after you and will take care of you
elden ring 2 but the story line is as the new games equivalent of a tarnished and the story primarily revolves around your choices in a world where melina pursues the lord of frenzied.
I need a new route where Melina survives and she won't try to kill us for saving her. And, of course, we don't become Lord of Chaos.

It seems whatever power that her marked eye contains is pretty powerful given that it made the other eye seemingly blind. Im almost positive that theres gonna be a DLC to expand on this.
I believe the her eye is blind because of you and the other eye's marks are some kinda of protection from the frenzied flame thus she's able to use it to see and hunt you down

I did this, but then got the needle to undo it, used it in the right place, and was sad to see that there isn't any special dialogue from her.

Actually there is flame of frenzy in ds3 as well. So when I first heard the name of this flame in ER I was like nope I am not gonna use that but I was also stuck in a dilemma of whether I should sacrifice Melina or not.

im even more pissed off that i didnt talk to her at a grace before touching the 3 fingers, so i had no idea what was happening, and she still fkn left me.
One problem with this ending, she would literally stand zero chance of actually being able to beat us at that point so the whole "destined death" thing is kinda very laughable
The same thing was said to us as tarnished, who went against demigods and gods alike.

@@jellydamgood pretty sure her having finally had her other eye open is supposed to tell us she's not just talking shit here(also she didn't just start fighting you before she opened her eye which would've made sense because to her frenzied flame's the worst case scenario so again she's not bluffing here)
