I got one last week and I have already gotten more compliments on it than any SEIKO or G-Shock I have. The dial is gorgeous at night.
It's actually one of the few watches that people have noticed. So yes I have to agree these are great & for the money if anyone wanted a watch for under 100 this is one of my first choices.

I chose this over the Duro for the amazing illumination and a sort of higher quality look. Still love it and look forward to it coming up in rotation within my collection.

I received this gift as a watch for Christmas back in 2019. I love it! It is also great with different straps, but keep in mind that if you will want 21mm straps. I found that out the hard way. 22mm are slightly too big and 20mm leaves a gap.

@@adrianmark613 it is good to know if you are trying to swap out the bracelet for one that doesn't rattle. You won't be able to fit a 22mm metal bracelet in there.

I happened to run across this watch on a Walmart site about 4 years ago. I immediatly thought it was a good looking watch. I was surprised to see it was only $55 bucks. I thought is looked like a $300 watch. I just replaced both batterys today. The LED light has its own separate battery.
It is a very good looking watch I completely agree it does look more expensive than it actually is.

Another solid Casio watch. Not sure if ive seen this one before. I love my Casio Duro. I changed the stock band with a stainless steel mesh bracelet. Looks and feels like a million bux.. I love Casio !

I've just bought this watch as Im just getting into watches.
It's heavier and larger than I Imagined.
The price has gone up £10 since the video was made but I still think it's great value and I'm not sure about the strap so will probably change to a nato as suggested.

I owned the previous version casio mtd-110 illuminator, bought it in summer of 2017 because it was $43 from amazon. I collect watches and while i own Rolex GMT II coke dial, Sinn U- T-SDR, Omega Seamaster quartz and my casio, i love my iluminator. I am thinking of gifting one to my brother for xmas.

Great watch, especially with the illumination feature. Just changed the main battery in mine. It has a separate larger 1616 battery for the light, but I haven’t used it that much so I didn’t replace that one.

How long does it take until you replace the main battery? Can it last for 3+ years?
I would think somewhere from 2 to 3 years would be a fair expectation for the main battery, as for the one that does the light that will just depend on how much you use it.

I found it a little big and heavy on the bracelet. I put it on a black leather Bund strap and it became much more comfortable.
That sounds like a great combo, I've found it to be a bit of a strap monster it works great on nato straps & silicone or rubber too.

I got mine 4 years ago and thought it was a good looking watch.
I replaced the bracelet with a brown leather strap which was much more comfortable and much lighter.
Sadly the day date function has failed and is not cost effective to repair so I have replaced it with a Duro.
Shame about the day date fault, but the Duro was a good choice as a replacement.👍

beautiful watch and good review. Perhaps your camera is having a hard time focusing on the watch because it is aiming the focus rearward because you have that minion figure and photo of people in the background there, and it looks like the camera is using strong face detection to prioritize focus.
Ah good point thank you for that, more recently I have tried to remember to set the autofocus in the centre rather than just letting the camera decide where to focus! We live & learn. 😊

My watch batt lasted about 4 years.
i have a mtd 1048, gorgeous , its called the casio "baby oris" i think it was the first casio diver, bought it for 100 USd now its worth 250 to 300, dont care never going to sell it anyways, was my first collector watch
I've just had a look online, that's a fantastic looking watch can see why it was called the "baby Oris" great to hear that it was your first collector piece & that you've still got it.

Seems like the mtd-110 is bo longer available abd the review of your iluminator which i seen in Amazon for about $110 may be coming to an end kf production, probaby a good time tk snatch one now. I had no idea that my iluminator has 2 batteries. One for the light and another to keep the watch running. Interesting design. The battery
for the watch had to be changed after 2.5 yrs but the one for the light lasted 4yrs. Amazing performance from a time piece that seems to not get attention. The light on your casio is definitely an improvement over my model
Yes 2 batteries seems to be quite common in watches with either an analogue/digital display or those with back-lighting this one as I'm sure you noticed had 2 led lights hence the brightness.
It will be a shame if they discontinue this one but I guess all things come to a conclusion eventually

Ah the scalpers trying to make a fast £$€ off the back of the "discontinued" thing 😂 for some reason there are those that are asking stupid money for the older Duro as well with the marlin on the dial since they removed that from the new ones!

Nice review 👍 just about to purchase one , I've always used a casio digital watch as I rely on their alarm function on a daily basis ! Does this one have alarm feature ? .
Thanks for watching. No there's no alarm on these. I think that of you wanted an analogue watch with an alarm & wanted to stick with a casio then you may need to get an Edifice ana/digi. Some of those have an alarm function

Looks like its styled after a seamaster, better looking than the duro and it has the light the duro is useless at night.

Noob question here,...how long does the illuminator backlight typically last? Does it eventually burn out permanently?
Sorry for the late reply I didn't get a notification! I haven't had a back-light fail yet they tend to be LED's these days so will have a much longer lifespan. Thanks for the question.
