      Ok I’m having a little trouble understanding your comment but I think your saying it will not go to PCU address 22. The most likely cause it that you installed the diagnostic fuse after the tractor was running. Shut off the tractor and restart with the fuse already in the diagnostic mode. If that’s not the issue you may have some codes related to the transmission that is preventing it from being calibrated. In that case you need to deal with the codes first. I have other videos that show how to read the codes.

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  Рік тому

      Are there any active codes? If so you will need to deal with those first before a calibration will work correctly. Does it show 000 and then after you try to start the calibration it shows err or does it never get the the three 0s?

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  Рік тому

      It’s also possible it is detecting wheel speed. There is a chance changing the speed sensor could fix it as well. I’m not sure exactly where that is located at the moment without doing some research.

      @@iowafarmer93 i got a few error codes most of them about parking or the pilot seat. but there is any way i could bypass the error codes and just do the calibration?

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  Рік тому

      No. For starters I’m guessing the seat sensor needs fixed but it can be hot wired by crossing the wires in the plug behind the seat. The park brake issue though is a big deal. I’m not sure what the codes are that you have for that and if you don’t know how to read all the codes my video “ watch before buying a JD 8400” should cover all that. I had an 8100 that I could not calibrate because the park brake wouldn’t hold. I even went as far as to hook two other 8000 series tractors to the front and back to try to get it to stay in one spot but during the calibration it was rocking all three tractors and eventually failed the calibration anyway. The park has to work in order for the calibration to work.

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  10 місяців тому

      Yes I think you are correct on starting with the C2 valve. To test the theory you can just switch it with the CR (reverse) and see if the problem follows it. The PCU code 27 is saying your transmission failed calibration. The CR valve is the top left valve easily accessible from the battery cover side. The C1 is next to it followed by the C2 and C3 and AB in that order. Note that these are the valves that are horizontal in the transmission and not the vertical ones. Also the vertical and horizontal are different and cannot be switched.

    Is there Anyway to fix error 015 on 8200? Is something about the cluch. I tought it might be form the sensors but changed them and still have the error

      Is this PCU 015 or what kind of error are you referring to?

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  11 місяців тому

      If it is PCU 15 I think it will be your clutch engage switch. There are two switches or sensors on the back of the transmission ( not the park brake pressure sensor at top left) one is just left of the drive shaft the other is towards the top right of the drive shaft. It could also be wiring. Enough people have this problem I need to make a video on it.

    I have 8200 earl model and during calibration Ab, bc, cc, dc slow others are calibrated well. What can be the problem?
    Thanks

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  3 роки тому

      Does it finish the calibration or does it fail those calibrations? If they are failing and you need to push the clutch to get past them, that probably means you have internal leaking of oil past some of your clutch cylinders but it could also mean some clutch packs are wore out and out of the calibration range. Even if it fails the calibration the tractor should still drive but I don't think you will be able to go into 4th reverse but I could be wrong. If they are just slow in calibrating but eventually do calibrate everything should be ok. It is quite possible you need to rebuild the transmission as well.

    My 8400 says abs and doesn't go farther unless I cycle the clutch pedal

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  3 роки тому

      then you have and issue with your transmission. Start by swapping the ab shift solenoid with another one and if the problem moves then its in the solenoid but otherwise your probably have a seal out in that clutch pack and need a rebuild. There are a few other possibilities like wore clutch pacs but to fix them you will most likely need to tear the trans apart anyway.

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  3 роки тому +1

      does the err message come up where the 000 would be at? If so you might possible try to pull the clutch pedal up with your foot as this might cause an err message as sometimes the clutch will stick down slightly. I'm guessing the more likely cause will be an electrical issue or possibly a bad solenoid. This might possibly be determined if there were previous issues with the transmition. The only thing calibration will do is smooth out the shift points. It's very unlikely a calibration will fix a major shifting issue.

      Here is the instructions for a 20 series.
      It’s possible you have a faulty coolant sensor.
      Calibration Instructions:
      Perform the required response to continue the calibration procedure if any of the following instructions are displayed:
      "For"
      Move shift lever to "FORWARD" position. Forward Valve calibration will continue.
      "Oil"
      -Oil is not hot enough. Heat oil to 55°C (130°F) (or Oil is too hot, cool oil to below 63°C (146°F)). Forward Valve calibration will continue. (Note: hydraulic
      oil can be viewed on the Vehicle monitor by pressing the PTO SPEED and RV hours buttons simultaneously.)
      "H2o"
      -Coolant temperature must be heated. Command engine speed to 2200 ‡ 30 RPM, heat engine coolant temperature to greater that 70°C (158°F).
      (Note: engine coolant temp can be viewed on the vehicle monitor by pressing the SPEED and CODE buttons simultaneously.)
      "nEU".
      - Move shift lever to "NEUTRAL" then to "FORWARD". Forward Valve calibration will continue. If "nEU" still displays, return to diagnosis in progress.
      "Spd"
      - Increase engine speed to 2200 rpm. Forward Valve calibration will continue. If unable to get 2200 rpm and ECU code 055 is present, perform CAN
      Network Diagnosis. (See Reference 245-05-006 .) If ECU code 055 is not present, see CTM255 for diagnosis of the engine cam speed sensor (B405) and
      engine crank speed sensor (B406).
      "CLU"
      - Fully cycle clutch pedal. If "CLU" continues to display, check clutch engagement pressure.
      it.
      -Wait 2-3 seconds for tractor to stabilize. Forward Valve calibration will continue.
      "Erp"
      -Wheel speed (motion) is detected. Stop all tractor motion. If "Err" continues, return to diagnosis in progress
      "rEU"
      -Move shift lever to "REVERSE" slot. Forward Valve calibration will continue

      @iowafarmer93  4 роки тому

      SSU controller calibration for 8020 series
      A - For vehicles with SSU control unit programming software part number R218115 or lower.
B - For vehicles with SSU control unit programming software part number higher than R218115
      NOTE:
      Access SSU address 84 and SSU address 85 to determine the software part number. For example, in SSU address 84, the software part number R218115 appears as 218 and in SSU address 85, software part number R218115 appears as 115.
      2 Address Description -
      Type A Action:
      SSU address 28 does a calibration of the steering portion of the steering control valve (B959) that is only used when AutoTrac is enabled. Display will cycle through CP1, L (left), r (right), CP2, and CP3 during this calibration.
      IMPORTANT:
      It is required to jack up the front axle so tires are off the ground during SSU calibration. This will provide consistent values to the controller.
      1. Raise front wheels off ground and securely support front of tractor.

      2. Start tractor.

      3. Insert fuse in F10 and access SSU address 28 .

      * Display should read:
28
CP1

      * Cycle the hazard lights switch (S101) to ON position, then OFF position. Display should read:
      28
      L
      5. Rotate steering wheel to the left at a normal rate of rotation until end stop is reached and pause at end stop. May have to hold at end stop to get display to change. Display should read:
      28
r (right)
      6. Now rotate steering wheel to the right at a normal rate of rotation until end stop is reached and pause at end stop. May have to hold at end stop to get display to change. Display should read:
28 CP2

      type B
      NOTE:
      Hydraulic oil temperature must be greater than 20 °C (68 °F) and operator must be seated throughout entire calibration. If these conditions are not met, calibration will exit immediately. If necessary, (See Reference 270-15-100 .)
      1. Start tractor and set speed at 1200 rpm.

      2. Insert 'Diag' fuse, F10.
Display should read:
--
dIA

      3. Move the turn signal to right turn several times to select SSU. Display should read:
--
SSU

      4. Actuate the flash to pass lever to access the SSU. Display should read:
000
SSU

      5. Access SSU address 28 . See Access Control Unit Addresses , Reference 245-05-002 . Display should read:
28
CAL

      6. Cycle the hazard lights switch to ON position, then OFF position. Display should read:
28
S-L

      7. Turn steering wheel to the left (CCW) at a normal rate of rotation until full left turn is reached and pause at end stop. Hold at end stop and cycle the hazard lights switch to ON position, then OFF position. Display should then change to:
28
S-r

      8. Now turn steering wheel to the right (CW) at a normal rate of rotation until full right turn is reached and pause at end stop. Hold at end stop and cycle the hazard lights switch to ON position, then OFF position. Display should read:
28 P-L

      6 Calibrating EH Steering Valve Action:
      1. Press, and hold, the 'Resume' switch on the armrest. The tractor will steer automatically using the EH steering valve during this Step.
NOTE:
The switch must be held through this complete step. Releasing the switch or turning the steering wheel will cause the steering valve (EH Valve) to shut off and the calibration process to terminate.
The tractor will begin steering left.
Steering motion will begin, then slow, two times.
The valve commands will display as the valve deadband is found.
Once the 'left' deadband is determined, a full left turn to the stop will occur in preparation for calibrating the 'right' deadband.

      2. When the control unit is ready to calibrate the 'right' deadband, the display will show....
28 P-r

      The tractor will begin steering right.
Steering motion will begin, then slow, two times.
The valve commands will display as the valve deadband is found.
Once the 'right' deadband is determined, the tractor will steer back to center.
      1. As the tractor straightens, the display will show....
28
P-C

      2. After centering, the display will show....
28
EOC

      3. The 'Resume' switch may now be released. Valve deadbands are displayed at SSU Address 29.

      4. Turn key switch OFF and remove fuse F10 to return to normal operation.

      ECU 45 Engine Speed/pump speed out of sync. Service code indicates that the signal from the auxiliary speed sensor has stopped working or has become erratic while the primary speed is stable.
      Ecu test procedure 17 ( used for tractors with serial number 11,000 and over)
      Primary engine speed sensor should be between 600-1500 ohms
      Auxiliary engine speed sensor should be between 2500-3500 ohms
      code 45 should be stored with code ECU 39 or 44.
      I'm not exactly sure where these speed sensors are located. I know the on is located on the front of the engine next to the injection pump and possibly both are I'm not sure.
      It gets really complicated to diagnose after this. If your ohms check out fine you will need to do more checks on your wiring. I can email you pictures of the diagnostic manual that will help locate which wires.

    What the heck is 'flash to pass'?

    • @iowafarmer93
      @iowafarmer93  3 роки тому

      it is when you pull the blinker switch towards you like you would in a vehicle and it flashes your lights. On your blinker switch if you push it forward it turns on the brights. If you pull it to the back position your brights turn off. if you pull it back from there it will turn your brights on but when you release it they go back off. A lot of these tractors have issues with this switch and this function does not work so you can simple put your blinker switch in the forward (bright) position and then turn your light switch all the way to the right and immediately back off and you will get the same result.
