    Oh wow, there was still some snow at the upper falls in Johnston Canyon in June.
    That's pretty amazing as it was pretty warm this year and when I was there in mid May the trail (just the trail) was completely ice free, even Peyto was 99% clear of snow on the trail. In 2022 mid May it SNOWED on us when we got to lower falls in Johnston...suffice to say it was amazing but needed micro spikes and we skipped Upper as it was a little too slippery for our liking.
    Thanks for the nice video!

    Research how Alberta and lake Louise got their name. Chateau Lake Louse. Did signs say you can get off the veranda at Peyto Lake? One trip is Edmonton, Jasper, Banff then Calgary. With a side trip to Drumheller to see the Tyrell Dinosaur Museum.

    Great video :) I’m visiting soon myself, very excited! But I am a bit concerned about how crowded some areas can get, specifically Lake Louise. Do you recall what time of day you went? Some people have recommended going as early as sunrise to beat the crowds.

    • @lavylau
      @lavylau  10 місяців тому

      The first time we went to Lake Louise was 4pm, which was cloudy and not too crowded. The second time we went was 6pm, which was sunny and busy. (We rented a canoe to row away from the crowds 😊)

    Thank you for your lovely review. We will be there in early September this year. Can you please tell me if any of the hikes are difficult or on steep inclines? I’m 60 but fit for my age however a month ago I broke my ankle quite severely and will probably still be working on physical therapy by the time we go. I’d love to be able to hike to some of those amazing views.

    • @lavylau
      @lavylau  11 місяців тому +1

      All of the hikes in the video were fairly easy! Most were paved. The steepest incline was Rock Pile to Moraine Lake but it only took about 10 minutes. I think you will be fine to see all the views 😊

      Johnston canyon is definitely worth a walk. Tunnel mountain is another fairly simple short hike and you can see the entire town of banff up summit. Same with lake minnewanka and 2 jack lake. There is also a little pond just before you head into main the road tolake minnewanka, you can have a nice picnic and a superb view or mount rundle.

      @BasePuma4007 11 місяців тому

      It could be 30C (86F) or colder in the range of 15C (60F). The weather isn't very consistent in that part of Canada - farther east on the great plains temperatures often exceed 40C (105F), though Banff being higher in altitude in the mountains, it can get colder. I would recommend you prepare for a variety of weather conditions if you plan on going there.
