This is the best Supercaliber review I have found. I just ordered my 9.7 SLR XT and cannot wait!

Just to add a bit more. The camera view of your riding really does a good job recreating the ride experience.

Hi, nice video. I am planning to replace my G1 for the G2. Couple questions, what is the tire size on your supercaliber , some versions com with 2.2 others 2.4. How do you feel about the crankset ring of 34 ? I am far from a professional and I thought about replacing it for 32…but I read the higher pivot was designed for 34 or higher…

Cheers for the feedback. This test bike had 2.2" tyres but is sold with 2.4". 2.4" would be better for rougher trails and more aggressive riding. Go for the 32T, you'd be totally fine

I took mine downhill and it felt ok. Is it a bad idea to hit medium size jumps in your opinion with this bike?

As long as you land smoothly / properly you could do some big gaps on this bike. We hit a 8m table a few times over and all went well.

Nice video. How does it compare to the current Trek Top Fuel with the 130mm fork. In Cape Town in general you don't need too much travel. Moved away from 150mm travel bikes.

The Supercaliber is a quicker climber but the Top Fuel is safer and more fun at super high speed descents. If you are serious about racing then go SC. If you are happy with climbing just a couple percentage points slower and having safe, fast, fun on the descents the the TF is the one for you. The geometry on both these bikes is now so good so they are very capable.

@@bikenetwork_SA Thanks for the feedback. Top Fuel is the way to go for me.

is the rear suspension always active and the lever locks it out? Trek has been guilty of doing the opposite in the past
