Thank you for capturing these stories. I grew up in downtown Burque, and I'm a recovoring alcoholic myself. I've seen the best and the worst this city has to offer. Hearing all of these stories (in recovery groups) from all different walks of life made me think "Damn. These stories need to be heard." And you're doing it!

Keep up that recovery bro whatever drug of choice it's the same fucken thing and its fucken hard to let go something you love doing it, I have been stuck in this freaken heroin addiction for over 18 years i have had my ups and downs hit rock bottom but i still haven't found the courage to let go change a better for my self hopefully God can give me the courage to let go that needle cause i don't have much more time i am slowly killing myself and my whole family!!! Prayers for all those who are stuck in the addiction and to all of those who are recovering addicts amen!!!

I passed through ABQ a few times and felt like I recognized everything from the show even had the same feel to it being there.
Ricky Gutierrez - I didn't like breaking bad. I never watched it because it glorified the reality in Albuquerque.
Breaking Bad orginally was set in Riverside, California. But it was moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico because it would be cheaper to film there.

These videos are getting to me so bad... I also went down the path to heroin use... used for 5-6 years... I’m thankful I was able to get out... but after 3 overdoses and almost losing my son... I moved to Florida And met my husband ... who went through the same sort of past but with pills.. we helped each other... been clean for 6 years... Thank you for sharing these stories

Love new mexico. I'm born and raised Denver, CO, and our beautiful chicano culture we once had is rapidly fading away. Felt at home as soon as I touched down to NM. Some of my family is even moving out there because they are to old to enjoy the change here in CO. Much of my great grandparents came from there, and now their great grandkids are moving back smh. Food out there is excellent, too.
It was very tough in Denver back then. I’m not saying that the change is better but it’s way safer in denver now
