    Frank is a cool guy. November 1996 I was working on a feature film production in Miami, Florida called 'The Good Life' with the Stallone brothers, Denis Hopper, Andrew Dice Clay, David Carradine and several characters actors .
    When Frank found out I played guitar he invited me to his Star Coach on the location we were shooting at and ask me to show him some brazilian bossa novas on his jazz box . We had a good time... but unfortunately after a couple of weeks the production was sabotage by the Orlando Local Union and the film moved to be finished in Mexico.
    I think the movie got shelved because I never saw it in theaters.
    By the way Frank gave me a box of fine cuban cigars that I shared with friends ....great guy !

    Knowledge is power. A music shop once sold me a vintage San Dimas Charvel they had priced at $149.99 and the sales guys were mocking me for buying the pointy old thing. I sold it a few years later for considerably more lol!

    It's amazing how likable and down to earth Frank is--he could easily be angry and bitter about his famous brother but instead he is comfortable with himself and his own personal success. Just a wonderful person, at least he appears he appears that way.

    i understand why people like vintage guitars because of they have a history, but the prices i dont understand, and what i like with a new guitar is that you starts the history on that guitar and someday someone else will think its vintage and all that history stuff comes too

    Back in April 1980, I purchased a 1979 Gibson ES-175D, brand spanking new, for $700, from Venemans Music, Rockville, Maryland. When I sold it, in 2014, it sold for $2,700! In 2016, I purchased a '76 ES-175D for a bit less than $2,500. I love it and still own it.

    I'd love to see more of Frank. Dudes always got great stories, and when he drops into Sly's voice it kills me every time. Never is there any air in the conversation when Mr. Stallone's in the store.

    In 1982 I graduated HS - I could have bought as many Les Pauls as I wanted for between $200-$350. Then after GNR and Slash got famous the price skyrocketed.

    I'm going back through these old videos and I'm thinking to myself"when we lose Norm?... It's going to be the equivalent of losing a major music icon like Keith Richards,Eric Clapton,David Gilmour,etc. He has put instruments in the hands of people who have changed our lives.

    great stories, great chemistry. I really like Frank shout out to Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, letting folks know that era PBBB preceded Clapton with John Mayall

    • @pharmerdavid1432
      @pharmerdavid1432 Рік тому

      True, but Mike Bloomfield was playing a telecaster until he saw Eric Clapton play the Les Paul on "beano" record, not that he didn't sound great using a telecaster (or any other guitar).

    When I started playing guitar in 63 music stores had Strats, Teles and Lesters hanging on the walls. They were cheap even back then....If I only knew then what I know now.

    • @A_Noid
      @A_Noid 2 роки тому

      Well, Strats were $259.50 in the early sixties, which would be $2,513 today, so not exactly cheap, but they’re sure worth much more now! They cost a bit more than today’s top if the line American Strats (before going into custom shop territory of course).
