Absolutely love Norm as he is just a pure gentleman in every way , I had a trip to America all booked and had Norms rare guitars in my list of places to go to then the covid19 hit so I will have to wait till this is all over with .
I used to go into the Old Norms just off of Vanowen St when I was a little kid and he always told me to keep my greasy hands off the old Strats and Les Pauls hahaha.....
When I was a kid I went into the old Norms on I think Tampa and Vanowen. Salesman at the time let me play a Les Paul Custom. Realized I probably had no money and walked away. He went over and stood by the counter and as I handed him the guitar on my way out he just said "let me know if your ever ready to pull the trigger." Years later I started building guitars working for James Tyler and would go pick up Floyd roses from Toru whos shop was next door buy never made my way back in.
That J50 is absolutely astonishing. It must have been in a case for the whole 60 years! Also you know its a good haul when Norm says "kill" at least 50 times in 10 minutes. The American Standard measured in homicidal mania. :)
Nice explorer , I got one with the split headstock , also flying V , les paul , modern , reverse fling V , future they all have the split headstock 57and 58 reissues
Love the custom shop blue sparkle telecaster with matching headstock. Thanks for the excellent eye candy. All of you please stay safe and well & keep rocking. Signed John Zepbass.
My best friend's father passed a few years back. My best friend is not a player. In his father's Will, the man gave me his Wine Red Burgundy Les Paul's shaped like an SG,with the vibro bar with the ivory tip on it.and the tailpiece that runs from the bridge all the way back to the strap holder with Gibson etched into it?.. I'm pretty sure that it's a '61 but I don't know a lot about Gibson serial numbers. This man(R.I.P. Robert)was OCD clean guy. When I received it there was zero bumps, dents, bruises, buckle rash, lacerations on the body anywhere.it literally looked like it was brand-new except some of the chrome had rubbed off where his hand sat when he played. It has that "fretless-wonder"feel.I'm still deciding whether to bury it with myself when I die or leave it to my kids. It's a guitar I could never afford the purchase with the amount of income I have.I know I could get prices easily in the double-digits for the condition that it's in. It is absolutely beautiful, words don't do it Justice. It has to be seen to be admired properly. Norm would definitely appreciate it.
i watch a lot off guitar related yt channels and see some fine guitars wich all are cool , but i already have a great strat , tele , lp , es 335 and acoustic , so i'm done buying guitars , no need for another one , but i sure do like to watch these vids , there's just so many beauty's out there , thanks norm .
@@antoonhermans8953 You should try playing a guitar upside-down. You can let the G,B and E strings ring out, acoustic or feedback, and play solos high up on the bass strings, where the closer you get to the pickups the more they sound like high strings. Having those open strings and playing on the A or D string can sound like a sitar. That's worth having a lefty just for that.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video! I still have goosebumps and butterflies in my stomach after seeing that 1955 Tele...sweet!
