Confession and repentance is one thing, lying and obfuscating about the difference between a 12 yar old and a "Young woman" is another. He lied, and left out lots of details. He has no business being a lead pastor.

I am so appalled at how quickly the "elders" condemed a Godly man who confessed, repented and went on to lead a Body of Christ for decades afterward--IN CHRIST!! To allow a 30 year old sin, touted by a "15 minutes of fame" seeker to slap Jesus in HIS face is just so UNCHRISTIAN!! She is commanded by Jesus to FORGIVE. The Church, who gave him instructions and forgiveness, now doesn't even stand with him, but throws him to the wolves!! Almighty God will recompense. GOD BLESS YOU ROBERT MORISS. Who of us who Christ has SAVED has not done abominable sins in our past?? We're FORGIVEN and covered by HIS BLOOD!! @@anthonynosike Neither is Robert. He didn't owe any explanation to his congregation 40 years after his pastor and his wife dealt with him. And I'm sure his wife has been dealing with him ever since. Explanation to the board and to the law? Yes. But a pastor is under no spiritual obligation to make confessions of past sin to congregants and parishioners. He's a good man and he has been for decades.

I pray for this ministry. All it takes is for leadership to take things in the wrong direction, destroy a ministry, and ruin people's lives.
Ive told friends and people attending a Church time and time again, if you attend a local Church that is good and has healthy leadership, do everything possible to submit under spiritual authority. Its a rarity these days where you hear of healthy churches.
Can't imagine the trauma some sre going through hear. Lord willing many who have recovered, but ideally, many who've ordered probably left too. Always pray for the Church. especially leadership. You never know what God will expose to being to the forefront. What a sad situation, but Jesus knows best.

Yes, many pastors do labour for sharing the gospel, spend over 60+ or more hours a week preparing messages, plus trying to maintain equilibrium with other areas of their lives, but some also aren't preaching the gospel, and lack transparency ever even telling a congregation where the money they give goes to. The Bible says as well that you can't serve God and Money. Money isn't inheritenly evil, but what one does with it. In the case if people within Christianity utilize it in ways that purposely enable and entice greed, and selfishness, then that in no way is it advancing the Kingdom of God
