Thanks for the review, good to see both up close and compared. Not too long ago Kriega updated the r25 with a waterproof roll top main compartment, but haven't seen a review for that one yet.
I've been looking at it and considering the new version, but I think I prefer the ease of access of a zip rather than the roll top. I may go and check the new one out at some point and form my opinion from there.
Any reason why you didn't go for the 30? Has the quad loc system and is more waterproof and is bang in the middle in terms of size. I know they are pretty water resistant but I wouldn't want to risk a laptop in there during a downpour, the outer pockets get a little damp eventually on the R30!
I have considered the R30 many times before however but I personally prefer the convenience of a zipped main opening rather than the rolled top of the 30..
Good review comparison except I wish they both had the waterproof inner main compartment like the R22. It would be great if Kriega merged the two best features of R22 and R25. I, agree with you that closing feature of R25 is far more user friendly for riders plus mentioning those optional extra little bags is a good mention too, as I have now decided to go for the R25 instead.
Fair comment. I still use my R25 most times I'm out riding so for me it was definitely the right choice! Even if they added one small waterproof inner compartment to it, that would be a huge improvement over the current model.
No, with the quad lock system on these the weight gets evenly distributed so it's not really an issue. Obviously if you do load it up with heavy stuff then you will start to feel it, but on my recent tour of Europe I carried the hydrapak and all my important documents in my R25, and it was never an issue.

Ha, good to see it’s not just me that was driven nuts by the silly zip harness on the r35! Forced myself to use it today just because..
This is really helpful - thanks for sharing.
I have the R30 and love it, just wish it was slightly bigger.

@@ukveganbikers doing them great bit of kit and great video mukka
Can it fit a full face helmet?
I no longer own so can't try out for size, but I think it would be a bit tight to be honest.
