Cheers! I was a bit apprehensive about posting such a long video but at the end of the day, it is aimed at a specific kind of person, who would want to know the ins and outs of the bike from an owner's perspective! 👍🏻
I have the same year/model with 15k miles, agree with all your observations and critiques. Great bike, perfect fit for me riding 60/40 pavement/gravel. Thanks for the review!
Spot on review. I've just done 15k in my first year of ownership. I even put on the same road 6 tires and wireless quad lock with Evo tech mount. My shocks were also replaced under warentee for exact same reason. I've also had to change my chain and sprockets around 12k. Servicing is a bit more expensive than he said. Was £900 for the 12k service. 6k service with brake pads was £500 and triumph will not offer a service plan like bmw. Overall though a really great bike. It's not the best at anything but does everything really well. Don't be put off by people talking about vibes, the bike feels good and it only gets noticeable vibey around 85mph and even then you have cruise control if that bothers you.
Servicing costs tend to vary across the country from what I can tell. I just paid £889 for my 24k service including rear pads at Pure Triumph in Wellingborough. The new '24 model should be much cheaper to run seeing as the valve clearance is now at 18k miles, but I still would've liked to have seen the intervals extended to 7.5k miles to be more inline with the competition!
I have a 23 GT Pro with 17k miles. I agree with your comments. I fitted the smaller Givi screen which onlly comes in smoke colour. Being wider it improves the side buffeting. Also have the Michelin Road 6 tyres - the're brilliant. The new model definitely has better brakes but I like the pre 24 TFT better than the new one. I love the bike.
Good review. I’ve only done 10k miles on my 22 but would just want to say that once I updated all the software etc for the Bluetooth connectivity and followed the instructions pretty religiously on my iPhone, it all works fine now but was a pain in the initial setup but I tend to use it only for a nicely visible ‘turn nav’ though, and have a TomTom (on silent) as well for the complex stuff. I don’t use it for sounds or phone. I have an hpCorse Italian made end can and it sounds so good I feel it was worth every penny of the absurd price plus Brexit tax I paid but the stock IS good too. Thanks for the blanking plate rec. I will get one.
I've had the software updated and it does indeed connect ok, but in all honesty I prefer using my phone for navigation. That said, if you wanted a minimalist cockpit, it will do the job! I am now craving a HP Corse end can, cheers for that! 😅
I've not heard of that issue before, but thanks for mentioning it for any other potential new owners to be aware of! Hopefully they find the issue quickly!
Cleaning is a big thing , my Kawasaki SX 1000 2017 still looks brilliant but i clean it regularly and polish generally every time its cleaned, my bike as 21400 miles from new don't ride it in the rain unless it rains while I'm out , valve clearance check is 2400 miles with a service is around £ 500 , I've been looking at the new 900 Tiger, not so sure now , I'm 67 and need a bike more upright health issues 😢I get an average of 54 miles to the gallon, still running on the same chain and sprockets a full service with out valve check is around £ 260 plugs air filter ect, oil an filler, a general service is £ 160, I did have warped discs but kawasaki covered majority of costs it was just out of warranty
My Tiger is ridden year round and rarely cleaned, so in fairness I think the finish has held up pretty well all things considered. The new Tiger has also addressed a lot of the criticisms of the old bike so I'd definitely recommend at least trying one before ruling it out. The Versys 1000 looks a cracking bike, but very heavy, and the 650 would probably be a bit of a comedown after a 1000. The new Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT looks good as well.
@ukveganbikers it's the riding position that's causing me issues, otherwise I'd have a new one , Two people I ride with have 900 tigers, newest is the Aragon 23 plate they are happy with them it's the difference in power that I'm concerned about also , I've heard a reports that they haven't quite got the power when fully loaded for touring it lacks power and runs out steam, I'll give one a go ,
@@martinhughes9769 I don't find mine underpowered when touring, possibly a little too up, but I'm guessing if you're coming if you're coming from a 1000 yes you may find it a little lacking. That said, it is a torquey, flexible engine so I would certainly recommend trying one to make your own mind up. 👍🏻
very comprehensive review👍

I've got the itch to buy a new one but i need to keep mine for a free years to get a return. No hardship mine is great. @@ukveganbikers

Must admit I hear a lot of people complain about the tft but I honestly don't mind it!
