Nice. Great advice. I like how he says "Personal Preference" instead of "that's BS". I also love that Red Mist paint. It's an amazing car. I love my C8 and tell everyone that the people at GM did a great job on it.
Dont forget to put in fuel stabilizer in the gas tank after you fill it up for the winter storage...also let the car sit on rugs or carpet to avoid tire spots
Great video!!! Very informative. A lot of common sense steps for those of us that see bad weather starting in November and storing our prized possession until April or May until the anti-skid material and stones are off the roads. Hate those flat spots on tires on a high performance vehicles.
I love the C8 Corvette.... especially the new Z06. The only aspect of the car's design that I didn't like very much, is the rear end of the C8 Stingray. It just looks boxy/squarish. But the Z06 rear end design smooths it out a bit.
I agree. It is a bit long. The convertible helps. I think a high wing spoiler is the answer to break the long slope. I say the C8 looks different which makes it exotic, but not really better than a C7. And yes, I want one.( black HTC)
I put Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winter performance tires on my C7 for the winter. And swap them for the Michelin Pilot Super Sport zero pressure summer tires that I keep in storage until Spring.
I'll be driving a non-Z51 with the all-season tires that it comes with in the SF Bay Area. I assume I'll be ok replacing those with summer tires when they wear down.
After several decades of always covering my Corvette's I have questions about doing so. It appears the little critters like to get comfortable under a cover, more so than uncovered. I've tried everything I have ever heard of to deter field mice (tiny little critters) from getting into my Vette's, I have about 6 different "Mouse Blockers" (some w/strobe lights) and others using different names but do the same thing (usually nothing). Dryer clothes 👎 Rodent Granules in home made tin foil trays (they eat the stuff), Peppermint Spray all around and under the car. This year No Cover and I did find a "New" style mouse blocker that makes Sounds of Predatory Animals & birds w/volume control & strobe lights. I've also sealed any tiny holes that they may be using to get into garage with Spray Form Insulation and Steel Wool but the "Never Ending Battle Continues"......... My 2 cents
I wish they'd explain how they expect to get our C8 on jackstands when the owner's manual lists no alternate jacking points other than the four lift points where the jackstands would go.
Cars and Crosbie I use 4 flat top sissor ? jacks with pucks. Works for me. Get the tires off the ground and you can run the vette through the gears, getting everything up to operating temps. save the wave.
You can still plug in the center console and let the cord run thru the door or window. On my 2012 Grand Sport, I added a 12v cable&connector from the engine fuse box terminal to the lower front grill. I could remove the protective cover and connect to a battery-tender.
Some UA-camrs are saying their “Chevy Sources” say the base price is going to be at $87,000. How reliable? Time will tell. I too am interested in that base price and the optional equipment that will be available and of course prices.
Wow! I was really waiting for GM to address winterization but this is almost useless and extremely disappointing. Why didn't the video recommend a winter tire brand/model? I can't find any. Regarding oil change prior to storage: "There's no right or wrong answer" Are you kidding? One option must be better than the other. The fact that the oil life monitor will start its countdown is irrelevant: The oil life will either countdown by date or mileage. In either case storing with fresh oil is probably better. The worst piece of misinformation is the discussion on changing your DCT filter when you change oil filter at 2:02 This is recommended for the first oil change ONLY. They dont clarify and in fact infer you should do this every time. WRONG. After 1st time the manual calls for every 22,500 miles. rather than 7,500 miles so the video is suggesting doing it 5X too often. No discussion on fuel stabilizer, ambiguous answer about oil change, No discussion of what to do if not storing near electrical output for smart charger. Regarding fuels for storage, the "expert" says "vehicles age during storage" Duh, Did he mean fuels age? What a wasted opportunity.
I agree. When asked about the gas level they said its a personal preference but GM does not recommend storing it with a full tank. Putting the car on jack stands for storage will damage your shock from what I've heard. Hey, they would love to sell you some more mag ride shocks. Cheaper to buy new tires
GM stopped producing an icon, a classic that has been manufactured since 1953, that is, a car with its own identity to manufacture what now? A bizarre copy of LaFerrari. This is unfortunate. The Chevrolet Corvette died. Since GM likes to copy Ferrari, GM could copy the Ferrari Omologata or Ferrari Roma and thus re-manufacture the Classic Corvette with an engine in the front as it always has been.
Bro it doesnt even look like a ferrari it is still it's own thing the headlights are a design based on the corvette flags, the tail lights are too and it still has its iconic ramp shape that is on all corvettes plus ferraris have smooth flowing lines as the corvette is more sharp and agressive
@@avaliacarros7739 you are contradicting yourself you just said it is a remake LaFerrari and now your saying it's compared to a front engine porsche... also I think a front engine porsche would be dope there was one a while ago but it wasnt amazing

Thanks Chevrolet!

Phenomenal information no words other than spectacular and thanks
Great session guys. Excited to share this on my channel. Not everyone is a fanatic like me and drive their C8 in two feet of snow in the winter 🥶
Very nice advices chevrolet team thanks.

What about fuel additive stabil
It would be nice to face the problem of what to do with your Corvette during the winter.

35k miles no problems driving summer only tires in winter ;p
Well I drove my 17 camaro ss with snow tires in ny did amazing no sliding not slipping no drifting just had traction

I use "Flat Stoppers", I think they are made by "Race Ramps" but you can usually get them from your favorite Corvette supplier. 👍Just FYI
I wouldn't use jackstands but I like C5Ron7's suggestion of "Flat Stoppers".
Do you have a recommendation for a jack stand for alleviating the tires

@@Howdy76 I heard that the shocks get damaged when the car is stored on jack stands
Can we get aftermarket all season run flat tires rated 500AA Y? Your summer only tires are death traps.
Very Good recomendación nice video
Some company should make a steel rim for C8s that you could switch out the Michelins for long term storage.
Great video
How much do you sell the Bel air for
I would say even one in not great condition cost 55-60k, they are classics after all, good ones in shape are 70-100k with a 350hp v8
I wish the tail lights were like the C7
I would like to hear more details as to why over inflating tires during storage may damage them. Tire savers are ~$200.
I think the high pressure stretches the inner cords and materials. Not sure.

I have a c6 anyone know a good battery tender for it? It’s a 2005 so it doesn’t have 12 volt in the back
