While this was great footage and it was quite interesting to see the special units, I was very disappointed not to see the sinkhole itself. I understand that you couldn't get close to it due to all the firemen and police there, but could you just post a quicky of the hole itself?
+Holly Rockwell Thank you for your compliments! Regarding the sinkhole, it was actually *inside* the bus terminal building, which had been evacuated immediately after the incident happened. Police had also restricted access to anyone near the building and later shut the entire street down, rerouting both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Therefore, it was quite impossible to get anywhere near the sinkhole itself, unless you wanted me to get arrested 😉 . I admit that it would have been a great addition to my video, though! Thanks!
Nice onscene coverage there ;) You captured all the vehicles, personnel and equipment + even the press, well ;) Some rather nice emergency vehicles responding in to that! Particularly them Dodge Chargers!
+CobraEmergencyVideos Thanks! This is probably the video that I'm proudest of to date. Yes, in recent years, Montreal has been heavily updating their fire, police and EMS fleets, and I'm loving the results! The Chargers were a nice add, and we'll soon be getting 2016 Chargers as well.
+simon bellefeuille Yes it was, but it was cleared up pretty quickly. I'm lucky I was only a couple of blocks away when I noticed units converging on that specific area.
2:00 Poste De Commandement (assuming command post vehicle) 1005 Pierce is nice.. Wow are people dumb.. I mean how can they be so oblivious to the lights and sirens right there. Oh, that must mean its a good time to cross the street w/out looking SMFH
+L2 10Truck R1 You're right about that Pierce, it's the Mobile Command Post, and it is beautiful! As for the pedestrians... they're not as bad as in New York City, but some definitely couldn't care less.
+Rangers36978 The SPVM's official uniform is black shirts with black pants. However, due to austerity measures put into place by the provincial government (and since essential service employees don't have the right to strike), the officers have been wearing camo pants and shorts in replacement of their duty pants, have stuck protest stickers onto their vehicles and have worn red caps in opposition. I know they're not very nice to look at, but it's one of the only ways that they can voice their discontentment.
+Rangers36978 The Fire Department trucks no longer have stickers on them, save for one on each front door. At one point, firefighters went so far as to paint the firetrucks matte black, yes, but were ordered to return the trucks back to their normal look. The Police Department is the one with the stickers now.
+Rian McDonald I would love to know more about this if you could message me some sort of way? This interest me I've never seen anything like this before
+Creature Claw Yes, there were no injuries reported, but the possibility of a building collapse obviously posed a big threat to people's safety, so they came prepared for the worse. Thanks!
+Fdny chaser Oh, it generated a fair crowd on the sidelines (I didn't really film that), although it happened during rush hour so I think that some people had better places to be than to watch the scene unfold...
+Aidan Drew It's literally a hole that opens up suddenly, due to soil erosion and such. In this incident, part of the floor of a walkway collapsed into the ground, which is what a sinkhole is.
You really need a heavily deteriorated level of intelligence to pass right Infront of 2 police cars with lights and sirens....
13:00
+omar 23 Hahahaha! 👍

+Fdny chaser Why, thank you! 😅
Can you explain the officers pants to me? Why are they camo and there tops black?

+Rian McDonald ohhh so like some of the fire departments have stickers or changed the color of their apparatuses

+Creature Claw Yes, there were no injuries reported, but the possibility of a building collapse obviously posed a big threat to people's safety, so they came prepared for the worse. Thanks!
in ny this would have generated a crowd
+Fdny chaser Oh, it generated a fair crowd on the sidelines (I didn't really film that), although it happened during rush hour so I think that some people had better places to be than to watch the scene unfold...
