- We are in front of quarters of Volunteer Hose Company No. 2 of the West Haverstraw Volunteer Fire Department at 30 Railroad Avenue in West Haverstraw, New York, where we see a number of companies from multiple towns scream through town for a house fire down the street at 11 Tanneyanns Lane. The call turned out to be a fire in the attic of the house at that location. One line was stretched and in operation. There were no injuries, and loss of property seemed to be minimal, at least from the outside. Most companies took up within about 20 minutes, and some went on another call for an alarm activation. Here is a run-down of companies seen responding in this video; Engine 23-1500, Engine 23-1501, and 23- Rescue from Volunteer Hose Company No. 2, 23-Squad, and 23-Tower from S.W. Johnson Steam Fire Engine Company No. 1 in Garnerville, both of West Haverstraw Fire Department, and Squad 18-EQ from Stony Point Fire District. Engine 23-1500 is a 2012 KME Panther. Engine 23-1501 is a 2000 Sutphen Monarch. 23-Rescue is a 2021 KME Severe Service walk-in. 23-Squad is a 1999 Sutphen Monarch. 23-Tower is a 1988 Sutphen aerial with a 100 foot mid-mount bucket. Squad 18-EQ is a 2016 KME Predator XLFD. Enjoy the view of all of the responding rigs. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The videos were taken on December 26th, 2022.

Nice firehouse.Did anyone else think the old Mack was going?
It’s used for parades that truck has been retired for a long time
I like those blue fire trucks! Also that older Sutphen tower was really cool too!
Like alternative colour fire trucks. Red is getting boring. Colours like yellow are far more visible at night.
Very well done by volunteers in this day and age. It took me back to better times where i live.,
Dad was a life member of SW Johnson, 1955 to2017. Great bunch of guys in all these departments. I have friends in all.
Awesome variety of truck makes and models represented here. Cool to see blue trucks as well! Rescue 23 had the best horn in my opinion
It takes that long because it’s daytime. Everybody is working and they are volunteers.
43 year volunteer ff here, either drive trucks, traffic or scuba refill. Young man game attacking fire
Outstanding video! Variety of beautiful apparatus responding and great on scene footage
Thanks! I agree, I like the different rigs that responded, especially the old school open-back tower ladder.
That was an impressive response and I LOVE Company 2's livery. Those Sutphen's are beautiful.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Thanks, will do!
Those are some pretty busy streets. The drivers seem to know the angles.
Loving the coverage
Outstanding video! God Bless!
I was a volunteer FF for 20 years. Happiness two days of my life, the day I got hired, then, the day I retired.
NICE CATCH - That Fire Truck at 0:05 has a lot of Police Light's in the back.
Yeah, some states allow blue lights on non-law enforcement emergency vehicles.
@@dangerousrobot9692 - OHHH - Here in Concord, New Hampshire they are now starting to have a single Blue Light on our newest Fire Vehicles in the back & our Police Vehicles are Blue & White Light's with 2 Red LED's in the brake light's.
In Europe all fire trucks use blue lights as well as ambulances. Far more visible at night than red. Red blends with rears of cars.
Didn't take the Mack. O that's right, no one knows how to drive a stick anymore!
Who takes an antique parade rig to fight a fire?
@@FL92002 Hate to tell ya but in a lot of communities that's a first line rig!
I think the sarcasm was no one knows what the 3rd pedal is for
They're going to need that mack when those POS kmes are broken down and oos.
Our dept hat a 58 and a 64 Mack thermadyne. 58 engine and 64 ETA. Held 1600 gallons of water. Each 5 speed stick double clutch no power steering. ETA had air breaks. I wanted to see this rig go. Mabey next time. 🚒
🇬🇧 Plenty of spinners, wobblers, flashers and blinkers on those House of Blues machines!
Gotta be seen to be safe.
I see the crown of the road and the concrete apron slope in front of the station causes a "dip&jump" effect when exiting the station. If apparatus come out too fast, they scrape the concrete. When spec'ing out new apparatus, request "angle of attack" on rear frame(s).
Or, ya know, fix the apron.
@4:38 gotta love those old sutphen trucks
Always love the apparatus Nickname placards
That was so awesome
Glad you liked it!
I love the blue lights on the fire trucks
Love that old Mack! Sexy trucks as well!
I enjoy watching these fire channels, walk arounds of rigs, responses, fire houses etc, but it seems that cities with 10K to 30K+ populations in the NE has volunteer departments, Is there a different tax structure in the NE, whereas the city I live in here in Oklahoma has a population of around 19K and has a full time department with 4 fire stations 2 ladder trucks, 1 water tower, 5 engines, 1 water tender, 3 brush trucks. Anyway, great looking rigs there, love the blue color ones.
There are different tax structures everywhere, but often it has more to do with tradition. Take for instance Sayreville, New Jersey. Their department has 4 stations, 110 personnel, and a dozen apparatus; they are entirely volunteer, because its tradition. Now that doesn't mean of course that these companies let tradition blind them. If you think they aren't up to date on gear and training than you'd be fooling yourself.
Keep up the great work 😅❤
Thanks. Will do.
Cool blue rigs
Can anyone please tell me what the EQ stands for on the Stony Point vehicle at timestamp 3:46 to 3:48?
My guess would be equipment, checked their website and all they say about the truck is its 18-EQ
Great job every one involed on that call
They will last longer.👍👍👍👍👍
Yikes! KME country. They'll never last as long as that B-Model Mack.
They’re all junk. REV group makes Eone, KME and spartan all from the same factory. But the Mack will def last forever.
@@hihfty am NOT a KME fan nor Rosenbauer. I think depts buy KME because of, primarily, money ( or lack thereof).
Amen they won’t
@@owensweetland342 True they do that’s why my department bought them
Never saw a blue fire truck before. Kinda cool. 😎😎😎
Mildly disappointed that the Mack didn’t roll out lol
Why did the horn of the first truck in the video sound wavy
The 1988 is sick 35 years in service!
Wow those cos get out fast
The problem with volunteer firefighters is the timing it's hard to have a quick response! my dad was also a volunteer firefighter in the 60s and 70s in Europe. Still, today they have full-time firefighters and volunteers in the same station so they can respond right away while the others arrive later, making a vast difference between life and death situations!
Yeah that's true. I remember my time back at the Volunteer Fire Department. Depending on the time you either have the truck full in 2 Minutes, or you have to go with just 3 man.
I would be delighted with this response where i live.
How does it work for a town like this are these guys like on call via pager like retained in the Uk ??
Pagers, as well as sirens mounted on top of the firehouses.
Love that sutphen though
Squirrel on the Q’s
The first 2 Blue rigs out were actually Sutphens, and the 3rd one next to the Mack B was a KME, and the red Tower that came through was a Sutphen.
First rig was a KME. You can see the KME logo on the grille and on the rear of the engine on the right side, next to the brake lights.
My dad is a fire fighter their and he was their
There
good spronse
A blue fire truck with blue lights ?
55 60 mph in a downtown/ residential area.. Totally Unacceptable! 14 year Engine, Tanker, 110" Ariel operator Here.
If I was to drive like this and My "Chief" seen this Video..... Major Reprimand if not Termination!
Total stupidity and arrogance that's not acceptable in the fire service!
You realize a house was on fire, right? That was fairly safe driving and at most they were doing 45 or 50 in a 25 or 35. Around 10 over is acceptable, and generally speaking everyone should move the fuck out of the way for the big truck with all the lights and sirens on it, because that's the law. Tell your chief to cool himself down.
Are they volley?
Yes
I like blue looking fire trucks
I love firetrucks
Blue is a much better color for a fire engine than traditional red. Aren't you supposed to move over to allow emergency vehicles to pass than keep on going like they're not even there.
Долго все происходит
Red ex captain SVHL dad is 90 life member still missing it
Hi Nancy, served with your brother and dad at SVHL in the 80s/90s. Great people and good times. Also remember your dad's unique pickup truck. Nice to hear he's still going strong.
Like the blue rigs.
yup
same
The Blue Rigs are West Haverstraw Fire Dept.
@@kevinswinyer3176 Oh Ok!
1915 time for a new station.
Nah, it works. Don't fix what isn't broken.
I couldn't believe 3 vehicles went zipping down that busy street with no siren. That was hazardous.
Old house 😁
7 trucks for a house fire?
Whole lot of people doing nothing..
Seriously dude? The more manpower less stress on others already on scene. I’ve been FD 19 years, and it gets exhausting some times, having ample manpower helps even if u do minor shit.
They are on backup- man pool. It’s standerd. You don’t know what your talking about
Blue fire trucks with blue emergency lighting? And they wonder why people won't pull over for them ....
You should see Lafayette Volunteer Fire then in southern PA. Orange apparatus with red lights. Trust me, the reason people don't pull over isn't color, its because they are self-absorbed.
Truck #2 needs to get in gear...
Wow FF running to risk theirs lives these r real men
Why did it take so long for the other 2 trucks to go. Toledo ohio, sends rescue out first followed by the pumper truck. Also Lucas County has ambulance that is also sent to the scene.
It's a daytime fire during the week when not many are available. That's why so many towns respond. Volunteer Department.
Well, you're comparing Toledo, a large career department, to a volunteer station for starters. Obviously the response time won't be the same.
Toledo 24/7 at the station volunteers are doing whatever
Real men do it for free
