In today's podcast, I start off by doing our weekly catch up. I discuss going to the Renaissance Faire, planning my friend's surprise birthday party, and my experience with hypnotherapy! For the main portion, I shared 7 things I wish I knew sooner. Next, we discussed this week's Torah portion, Parshat Terumah, or Ordinances. Then I answered the question - why did everything have to be so fancy in the Tabernacle? Be sure to listen to the end, where I answered my premium Substack subscriber’s questions about sleep deprivation as a new mom, breaking up with someone who's wrong for you, and advice on wedding planning. If you’re interested in submitting questions for a future podcast, head over to classicallyabby.substack.com.
The Classically Abby podcast centers on classic living and traditional values. Here, you'll find discussions regarding relationships, motherhood, faith, and navigating the modern era as a traditional woman, as well as conversations with other people in this space. Hosted by @classicallyabby, this podcast gives strength to the women who reject the modern narrative of womanhood and instead embrace real femininity.
Each episode will contain four segments. In the first segment, we'll just catch up and chat about what's been going on in my life, what is going on in the zeitgeist, whatever else it may be. The second segment is the main topic of each episode centering on motherhood, relationships, classic living, traditional values, and modern femininity. The third segment is our faith talk. And lastly, I'll be answering subscriber questions from my premium subscribers on Substack. So if you have any questions you'd like to hear answered, make sure to become a premium subscriber there! As well, I'll be doing interviews interspersed with my regular content with awesome people in this space.

29:50 I heard almost the same exact line from Season 3 of The Boys. When Black Noir decides to confront Soldier Boy, his imaginary friend Buster Beaver tells him “Bravery isn’t having no fear, bravery IS FEAR, but you do it anyway!”. You really explained it great this episode!

You have become wise beyond your year! It was so honest. You mentioned things that I know some people would have never shared because it makes them look a certain way. Thank you for being vulnerable. You said one thing I believe Hashem lead you to say something I Needed to hear, that I needed clarity on. You are doing a great job with your podcast, keep it up!

Wow, your explaination of "God loves me" really hit hard, even though I've heard the phrase often. It's a constant struggle for me to remember to come back into the fold, even when I strayed for a few steps. And honestly, I think it's partly shame, but also partly pride. I pridefully think that I have to atone for the wrong that I did thereby winning God's favor. But it's really my humbling myself before Him, saying I need You to keep in the fold.
In other words, His relationship/love/connection is a part of the reconciliation, not the reward afterwards.
Thank you so much for bring it up! I know we have differences as an Orthodox Jew and Protestant Christian, but overall, it has been such a blessing to learn more about your customs and faith and has made me ponder a lot of the traditions of my faith more deeply.

Mmmmm…. I would say standards are black and white. Life and death is black and white.
    .
Processing and discerning and learning is that gray transition from black to white. The gray gets lighter depending on the direction you’re walking. That looks different on everyone.
    .
One of the things is wish I learned earlier is stopping comparing yourself to others for validation. Only compare yourself to who you were yesterday. That is a healthier gauge and goal.

Abby! Thank you! I enjoyed the whole thing, and particularly the last few portions with gospel, motherhood questions, and the relationship/gossiping advice! I think I loved it because I didn't expect to get all of that in your video! It was like a dessert😂🍨

I'm back! I need advice. Covid lockdown and what's going on politically right now, I have been lax on myself, and I was always glamorous. I'm wearing sweats with unkept hair. No makeup. This isn't me. I need suggestions on how I can get out of this slump, and I'm on a budget. A very tight budget. Advice? I no longer want to ignore my beauty. I became really depressed, and I need to amp it back up.

I‘m just happy that I live in a social democracy.
never appreciated it before, but with children now, high taxes and high subsidies makes our life so much freer.

A lot of Christians aren’t great people. Just think about it… Christians need the fear of god to be decent people.

Jesus answered him: - "Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind" This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second, like it, is: "To- love your neighbor as yourself All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.

No one can keep God's law in full... without God and the help of the Messiah Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world God brought the perfect atoning sacrifice in Christ
God sent the messiah into the world so that the world could be saved from sin... And eternal damnation.. This was and is the real goal of the Messiah spoken of in the scriptures through the prophets.
