Really hope they do some third person stuff in the sequel. I would love to be able to play in third person (I tend to prefer it to first) but I would be cool if it was just for cutscenes and the like.
I wish they'd do it like GTA 5, 3rd person with 1st person as an option, because I'd really like to play Cyberpunk as long as I don't get a headache from it
I like to use this mod just to see my character from behind sometimes and during dialogue. Exactly what you said at the end. It makes me feel more connected to the character.
Facial animations and some dialogue animations in Cyberpunk are handled by a complex automatic system similar to what BioWare has, as far as I understand the lip-syncing is automatic. I might be wrong tho.
The game would've originally been third-person, but later on they switched to first-person which upset a lot of people when the news dropped about it. Imagine spending time in character creation when you only see your character 1% of the time throughout the entire game. It was a very stupid decision they made, at the very least they could've created a POV switch like in Skyrim where the player can decide if they want to play in first-person or third-person, or the player can switch according to the situation, like first-person for ranged weapons and third-person for melee weapons. They spent a lot of time creating the character creation menu, but made it almost completely useless when they decided to switch to first-person.
3:45 i think it's because they use Jali ? one of their technological system where their mouth match what the audio sounds like. they probably parent it to V's mouth occasionally. Jali advantages is that they use procedural system so they use the game engine to match their audio to characters mouth in different languages.

this wouldn’t be nearly as much of an issue if apartment mirrors didn’t need to be ‘activated’ and if you could find reflective surfaces that rendered V while walking around night city
5:33 You actually can interact with elevator controls as anything else but, since the camera is farther from V's body the "prompt/interactive" area where the "little animated hand" appear is smaller. the trick is to move the camera down (to get it as close as possible to your V and to find the center of the screen), then move it left and right to center the interactive area on the screen. Too much work i know but that's how i found out since i'm playing my 3rd playthrough using mostly TPP, and i can say i'm getting good at it now.

The weirdest thing is that you can see NPCs using abilities and fight with great animation, but I gues it would take some work to slap all these animation on V and make them playable and feel good.
They probably wanted to make a Third Person mod, also the lipsync is probably due to the engine. Since you cannot see the face, they use the attached "audio 3D transmitter" from V for the dialogue when it's codec and such, that's probably why the auto-lipsync works for V when other characters speak... smart thinking from CDProjeckt devs, no need to have a headache trying to do fancy and realistic stuff.

As megafan of character creation games, Its just sad it doesn't have 3rdPerson, The fact it has amazing customization is just an actually slap in the face. Imagine Bethesda games without 3rd person.
@@breadballer I've got a compromise, at least make traversal 3rd animations. Walking jumping running, then at least you enjoy/appreciate your character. At present, only choices you've got is either ride bikes all day or sit in photomode all day (which isnt playing the video game)
Yeah the way the mod comes default is a nice compromise. As soon as you pull a weapon out it goes to first person but once you sheath it you go back to third.
Cyberpunk will never feel complete without official third person accessibility. The argument of “first person only because of immersion” would hold water if long sleeves were shown but its always bare wrists.
mayby im bit weird, but even in first person this wonky animations break immersion for me. When you see shadow of your character for example. Once you see it, ilusion is gone
Bethesda gets alot of hate for their game engine but I love how it lets you choose between first and third person at virtually any moment in their games which is something you start to miss when playing other RPGs.
I really hope for Orion they have both, as CP2077 relyed on immersion but featured alot of customisable items. Having so many clothing and character creation options just to not show V 99% of the game is criminal.
3:59 Oooor I dunno, just have both perspectives ready and available for everyone next time? I never really understood why they hampered the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 to just FPP. They say it was about immersion which is fine, but what they didn't say is that they wanted to force immersion on the players. How would having both 3PP and FPP available hurt immersion? I don't think it will, personally.
SPOILER AHEAD I loved not being in third person because you feel like the person you made ya know? At the tower ending when you see yourself, it makes it more impactful I feel, because you're talking to yourself as Silverhand and it feels so natural. But I do love the thought of adding third person to cut scenes!
I think games should for the most part have the option for the player to decide whether they want 1st or 3rd person, but have switch ability at the players discretion. There are gamers who simply don’t enjoy FPS games and some who only play FPS games. Why not open the game up to both. Not just CP2077 but all games who limit them selves to either or
i think I understand why sometimes V mouthed the voice of some one calling them.. Since 90% of then people incyberpunk are basiocallly walking cyborgs.. Theres a chance that it is like a speaker? i think..
I've been curious while watching... Cyberpunk still has a very active modding community, you know... If we take Skyrim as an example... I can assure you that there have been at least ten times more animation/rigging/skeleton mods made for it compared to all vanilla animations. In other words, modders already have the ability to create animations and skeletons. Although Cyberpunk may not be as mod-friendly as Skyrim, it's still one of the more mod-friendly AAA games you can find in the market. Is there really no one who can create a proper third-person mod for Cyberpunk from scratch?
I have zero modding experience so I can’t speak on the potential, but with how long it’ll likely take for the next Cyberpunk game to come out it wouldn’t surprise me if a functional custom animated third person mod was made at some point.
This game needs third person as soon as possible it doesn't take much effort why do we have so many cosmetics if we can't see them most of the game I don't want to just seeing my character on a bike
It’s unfortunately a lot more effort than simply switching a flip, which is what this mod does. If you do both first and third person you need two sets of animation, and third person would be much more intensive than first since you need to account for all the different cosmetics clipping, checking camera angles in tight corridors and alleyways, etc. Would be less work going from third to first, but since they did first only it would be quite a lot to implement at this point.
I read that even though it makes some first person animations better as a byproduct, it seems to also break some of them which is why I’ve been holding off on that one. Maybe someday though.
Should've gone the Bethesda way and make the POV interchangable. Cause I'd be more immersed in a game if I have the ability to both experience it from 1st person and third. Otherwise, character customization is useless when you're not able to see the changes...
Personally I was okay with it being in 1st person a lot of the scenes hit alot more dramatically and immersive for me, plus I drove around on my bike a lot so I saw my character a shit ton 😂
The particular one in this video was delisted by the creator so I can’t find it anymore but there’s a very similar one in the “wolfcut hair collection” that I use now.
So I wholeheartedly agree with you… during a sale I relented and bought the game… and after a while you (or I least I did) become hyper aware of every moment and inconsistency in the third person view (through the bike view). for example: when I play first person games, since I like to customize my characters I fixate on customizing the arms which is the only thing I can see, but in cyberpunk, regardless of what outfit you give V your arms are un-customizable except for the cyber implants you can give to V (which are extremely limited). And if you played at least witcher 3 you are constantly reminded that cdproject are capable of making great third person games. And I guess in their defense (begrudgingly) a first person game thus alleviates a lot of the development. You don’t have to worry about clipping, weird animations, level design doesn’t have to accommodate the 3rd person view and the list goes on… Feature creep crippled the development, who knows if they could have added a third person view, at least for out of combat. Eventually despite the fantastic story and acceptable combat(before the dlc) I couldn’t play it anymore and dropped it, only came back now to experience the new combat and it’s pretty fantastic… the third person things still annoy me but I might finish the game this time.
@@DanteEyeoftheTower It's more that first person immerses you into the dynamic cutscenes, that's what they are going for, to give you a sense of how small you are in night city.
I replied this to someone else but I heard that it badly breaks some of the first person animations, especially during the prescripted scenes. I still like playing in first person so as of right now I don’t think it’s worth the trade off. Hoping it improves in the future though, in which case I’d make an update video for it.
The hair and skin texture are mods but for the face I just kept hitting randomize until I got something I liked, then removed cyberware and other face blemishes. It's easier in patch 2.2 since they added lock-in features so you can keep certain aspects of the face and reroll the parts you don't like.
this might be a deep cut, but can any modders tell me if it were possible to copy the moveset from a different game? Konoko from Oni (if anyone remembers) would be awesome, and a lot of fun.
The animations literally only look bad in third person because they didn't bother animating what you cannot see. Its not an excuse for no third person. They just didn't want to do it

As megafan of character creation games, Its just sad it doesn't have 3rdPerson, The fact it has amazing customization is just an actually slap in the face. Imagine Bethesda games without 3rd person.
Yeah if the character customization sucked nobody would care, so it's both a blessing and a curse that it's as good as it is.
I always thought it was weird how in photo mode it resets your V to a pose, now i know why 😂
I like the dedicated first person experience
Only times when I use third person in this game is when I’m racing in the Beast quest series.
i hope the next game is third person. i like seeing my custom character. or at least cutscenes with them in it
thank you for this
Cyberpunk will never feel complete without official third person accessibility. The argument of “first person only because of immersion” would hold water if long sleeves were shown but its always bare wrists.
mayby im bit weird, but even in first person this wonky animations break immersion for me. When you see shadow of your character for example. Once you see it, ilusion is gone
Wow great work looks beautiful Aleluja
BTW this mod breaks radioport so youll not be able to listen vanilla radio stations outside a car :(((
The mod was updated on Dec 16 which supposedly fixed the radioport issue. Haven’t tested personally though so can’t confirm for sure
I would like a 3rd person option in the next game. Or at least a 3rd/1st person hybrid system similar to that of the last two Ghost Recon games.
Really looking forward to the shooting animations being fixed someday
SPOILER AHEAD I loved not being in third person because you feel like the person you made ya know? At the tower ending when you see yourself, it makes it more impactful I feel, because you're talking to yourself as Silverhand and it feels so natural. But I do love the thought of adding third person to cut scenes!
I would buy this game on a heartbeat if CD Project Red made a 3rd Person camera view for this game.
Oh man this gave me a good laugh 😂
You don’t understand just how hard this had me laughing 😂
I've always wished for cyberpunk to have something similar to Deus Ex Machina where dialogues are like convencional 1-2s like in witcher games too
I think games should for the most part have the option for the player to decide whether they want 1st or 3rd person, but have switch ability at the players discretion. There are gamers who simply don’t enjoy FPS games and some who only play FPS games. Why not open the game up to both. Not just CP2077 but all games who limit them selves to either or
I do think Cyberpunk could work with (at least some) third person, but I don’t think all games need to cater to everyone.
i think I understand why sometimes V mouthed the voice of some one calling them..
Since 90% of then people incyberpunk are basiocallly walking cyborgs..
Theres a chance that it is like a speaker? i think..
I noticed you have Oberheim Power soundtrack on? NFM fan?
V will sometimes lip sync Mr Hands dialogue while on a bike but not her own 😂
This game needs third person as soon as possible it doesn't take much effort why do we have so many cosmetics if we can't see them most of the game I don't want to just seeing my character on a bike
You should try the third person animations mod, its quite a bit better than Vanilla
I read that even though it makes some first person animations better as a byproduct, it seems to also break some of them which is why I’ve been holding off on that one. Maybe someday though.
@@breadballerNot only that but it makes V’s arm bent all weird in cutscenes IN FIRST PERSON. I tried it last night. Definitely wait for updates.
What hair mod are you using?
Also I think it would be nice to have a 3rd person cutscene setting.
The particular one in this video was delisted by the creator so I can’t find it anymore but there’s a very similar one in the “wolfcut hair collection” that I use now.
@breadballer Thanks choom
Give this 5 years and modders will find a way to make the game 3rd person. CP2077 is slowly becoming more and more skyrim.
i love to see the vibe of cyberpunk... but till now not intended to play yet... because i hate to play first person game.. except for war games only..
I promise you get used to it kinda quickly. It’s so worth it seriously
Try it, post patches it's one of the best games of all time (and I'm saying that as someone who has been playing games since 1986).
You don’t have to worry about clipping, weird animations, level design doesn’t have to accommodate the 3rd person view and the list goes on…
Feature creep crippled the development, who knows if they could have added a third person view, at least for out of combat.
Unfortunately you didn't try the new mod call 'tpp animations redone'
I replied this to someone else but I heard that it badly breaks some of the first person animations, especially during the prescripted scenes. I still like playing in first person so as of right now I don’t think it’s worth the trade off. Hoping it improves in the future though, in which case I’d make an update video for it.
How did you make V so beautiful?
The hair and skin texture are mods but for the face I just kept hitting randomize until I got something I liked, then removed cyberware and other face blemishes. It's easier in patch 2.2 since they added lock-in features so you can keep certain aspects of the face and reroll the parts you don't like.
Maybe when they make a remastered re release of this game 7 years from now we'll get a proper third person mode
05:05 The music and the hips
Maybe try the 3rd person animations remade mod
Is it better?
Not so much. It messed with my pistol, yes even when doing combat in first person. My pistol kept going off to the side @@Nomad-bl4yw
This is what I thought Cyberpunk would be, a third person game. Cus I just can't play a first person game. I hope they're gonna do that in the sequel
someone should make a mod that works like gta cinematic cam, where it just shows different angles like if ur walking or driving
Yeah this mod made me naked and armless whenever i was using vehicles.. and bugged all my saves so i had to start fresh and im sad.
Best mod for the game.
That's one janky cyber skeleton.
Third person in any game is more immersive than first person.
this might be a deep cut, but can any modders tell me if it were possible to copy the moveset from a different game? Konoko from Oni (if anyone remembers) would be awesome, and a lot of fun.
pretty sure they put so much detail, becuase we were suppose ot have multiplayer
Bro why tf people say they need a 3rd person mod to feel more conected to the character??Like bro...YOUR LIFE IS IN 1ST PERSON
Yeah..they definitely, intended to have, third person but they just didn't add it in the final product
The animations literally only look bad in third person because they didn't bother animating what you cannot see. Its not an excuse for no third person. They just didn't want to do it
Which mods are you using for your character?
Hyst Body Mod and Wolfcut Hair Collection for the actual character. Then for clothing I don't think I can remember them all but Alt's jacket and most of the others are from a user called ScorpionTank.
Your female character looks like she could be a child of Hideo Kuze & Motoko Kusanagi 🥰❤
Nice video, my man 👍😎
GITS MENTIONED
@@funknotik I always mention Ghost In The Shell, my friend! Always!
It's not just my favourite Anime, but my favourite Fictional Universe!
And Major Motoko Kusanagi X Hideo Kuze is my favourite pairing!
"rarely ever see your character"
that mfer is standing there :| face every time you open the inventory 🙄
I'd prefer Third person tbh. I liked Hardcore Henry, but I don't need every medium with sci-fi futuristic experience to literally be in my face for me to get immersed or feel something.
