If you keep asking "who" the answer should be required to be "first base." The first baseman should have been ejected
This better get a lotta likes.
But that means the umpire was playing 3rd base.
Who was on first?

Umpires just saying pick someone is crazy
Except if they had to pick the exact person ,the dugout could just yell all game when ump is calling balls/strikes
Ump probably was horrible but ejecting a bench coach was at least a fair decision

“Who” was said so many times I didn’t know if this was a Jomboy video or an Abbot and Costello sketch!
Abbot and Costello would officiate better than these clowns.
Another aspect that makes this even funnier is the Tigers Broadcast team immediatly called for a Jomboy breakdown of the ejection on air.
I think he's saying it's funny that broadcasters know of Jimmy and know when something is ripe for a breakfast
Especially when it's the Tigers' broadcast... like, I get that the commentators are reasonably neutral but for them to watch an opposing player/coach get tossed and then say "This needs a Jomboy breakdown" is one signal of how ridiculous it was.

Everyone in that dugout was insisting I am Spartacus.
Between this and the Yankees ejection for a fan chirping, this opens a whole can of worms that some enterprising heckler is going to exploit. Someone is going to get paid by a team to either sit behind the road dugout at home games or get tickets behind the home dugout when the team goes on the road and start chirping the ump. Select games with certain umps but if we're ejecting guys because "I heard someone near the dugout say something" it's only a matter of time before you have operations to get managers, bench players, or coaches ejected in high leverage situations.

I thought the Aaron Boone ejection when he didn't say anything was bad...
@@juan833bluenot one word. Not one word. Not one word
I feel like every week is a new low. Pretty soon someone will be ejected for looking at an umpire.
Nah, that's bs, people can't hide in the dugout and just yell crap but not be held accountable because the ump isn't looking right at them. The Marlins need to show some dang accountability.
I kinda get it…. The ump isn’t focused on the dugout, he told the dugout to cut it out, and then he’s looking at the pitcher and hears more crap and doesn’t know who said it. He’s counting on the coach to have a clue what’s happening in his own dugout to get his team under control.
Congratulations James O'Brien for being appointed as a commentator at this year's ICC cricket World Cup
"...gonna turn into an owl" is a perfect line. Atta boy
An instant classic. On one hand, I want some accountability for the umpires, but on the other hand, I want umpires to continue doing these kinds of things so those of us who aren't invested in the teams can stay entertained.
As a former "nashville" sox fan, I'm dying over here looking for laughs. I feel you brother.
They were both strikes
As long as they keep graduating from the 'Hernandez School of Umpiring', you'll get your wish.
You're not wrong. But it does help if the umpire actually knows who he's ejecting instead of just being mad. Reminds me a lot of the Aaron Boone ejection earlier this year.
As a Cardinals fan, we have to deal with the C.B. Bucknor school of umpiring. Dude straight up hates Oli Marmol for no reason. Bucknor and Hernandez both will continue to do their thing, and everyone will take their umpiring with a grain of salt lol.
The umpire breakdowns are fun but usually I prefer the actual baseball ones. This is an exception. Laughed audibly multiple times. Absolutely hilarious.
This was one of the funniest arguments Ive ever seen
Absolutely wild that play review is so restricted "to save time" but they'll argue until their lungs collapse about something they have absolutely no idea about because they thought they heard something just to make sure you know they're in charge.

just more reasons why i cant get into baseball.
We all know the dugout was yelling shit at the ump, and they were warned. They ignored the warning so someone gets ejected. That is more than fair.

Same thing happened at a minor league game I was working. It’s the team High Point Rockers who you have done a breakdown about with “the throw out guy” who infamously threw out the umpire after the game was over. But basically the blue was messing up and one of the guys starting talking and the umpire ejected someone and went to ask who said it. The manager went out there and gave him his two cents. He thought that he was gonna get the umpire to stop but then he walked over to the dugout and asked: “who said it.” The pitching coach ended up wearing it in a moment way too similar to this.
They should have refused to leave or all left and refused to continue the game as long as the clown was still officiating.
The irony is that the ump was right about both of those pitches being strikes.
I agree, how that batter is complaining is absurd to me.
That's why I'm not even mad at blue for just tossing someone random
2nd one was kinda low but close
@@1100blake Actually, it wasn't low. It was a borderline pitch that just barely clipped the zone.
@@Daniel-ng8fi No, it doesn't matter if he was right about the pitches. You still have to be a professional.
I saw this live and had no idea this is what happened. These videos add such a great level to the league imo. The announcers even shouted out Jomboy when it happened. Ya gotta love it.
Exactly. It's about time they mic these guys up if the umps are going to throw hissy fits.
Thanks Jomboy for the excellent presentation on this!!
"Who!?" 🦉 😂

Okay, starting pitcher on the other team.
Extra fun, pick the crew chief.
I was waiting for the crew chief to go "Eenie meenie minee mo".
LMFAO HOLY SHIT. I DIED HAHAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s some mad impressive lip reading bro
It's actually insane that he literally ejected "a voice" coming from the dugout
Exactly what happened the other day when the fan yelling got the manager in trouble. Absurd.
Next week he’ll eject a paraplegic’s legs
To be fair he ejected the person that had that voice and the manager was playing dumb as to who it was. Ump can eject everyone if he wanted, he can literally clear the dugout, so saying to pick whoever the manager wanted was generous.
@@iamthebum
Honestly, if I was Schumaker, I would've just left with the whole damn team. Ump can't even figure out who the hell he's ejecting? Gone, we're not playing with someone that braindead, arrogant, or just outright petty. Game over, we forfeit, fuck the union and fuck the MLB for allowing that shit
@@coupledyetivonvanderburg5385 Yeah forfeit the game because some dumbass in the dugout got tossed for arguing balls & strikes. Braindead take. Someone was clearly chirping after the ump warned them to stop whining about strike calls. He doesn't have to see them to know that someone in the dugout is still yapping. Then they play dumb and nobody fesses up. Ump was in the right here but should have just tossed the manager.
That crew chief; I've never seen an umpire so patient and calm for so long when talking with a manager. He *knows* home plate made a monumental goof. (Well, everyone knew, but he was in an unusual position for an umpire. He almost said "I'm sorry.)"
Crew chief did a great job of not undermining the home plate ump but also defusing the situation. Did the best he could out of a ridiculous situation.
Dan Iassogna is a very good umpire
@@funklordoftheUSA good job making a mockery of the sport
I was once tossed after a decision something like this. But, I was the one that said, "get a mask with holes." Ump didn't know who said it, but he knew where it came from.
He still sucks. He should have led with: "Bench coach was talking and it was him who home plate happened to hear."
“Who’d you get?”
“Whoever it fuckin was”
I cried lmfao
When I’m in a shitty mood I just gotta watch these breakdowns and it turns my day around lmao 🤣
We used to joke about the eyesight of umpires. Never could have guessed we'd question their hearing.
In this case, their sanity.
Umpires should be fined for awful mistakes and rewarded for excellence
That’s actually pretty pathetic from the ump.
We know what will happen though. The ump in question will be investigated by the MLB and to no one's surprise they will find that that ump did nothing wrong...............Except he failed at doing one of the more aggressive aspects of his job accurately, but the MLB won't admit to that.
This is what happens when you lower standards to compensate for "Angel Hernandez" expectations.
this might be the first time im on the side of the umps. I hate it when umps make the wrong calls and argue, but this was the opposite, ump made the right call twice and the marlins dude was yapping. if your gonna argue, make sure your right, and the marlins waffler was not right
@@michaele1949 regardless of that, the ump should know who he is tossing out of the game, and then it’s worst because he’s then having the manager do the ump job for him. It’s extremely unprofessional.
@@xwarped83it's more unprofessional to say something and then try to hide among your teammates to not get ejected

must've attended angel and CB school of umpiring
Lol it was probably a fan from crowd lol
"And then, Skip Schumaker turns into an owl!" what a HOOT!!
Two things:
1.) Props to that crew chief, who did a great job of sorting out the mess the home plate ump created. He was calm & decisive, like an official should be.
2.) Soccer has a pretty simple solution to this type of situation. The rulebook explicitly says that if a punishable offence is committed by anyone in a team's technical area, and the official cannot identify who it was, the penalty (ie. yellow or red card) is applied to the senior team official present in the technical area. Normally that's going to be the head coach/manager, but the wording of "senior team official" allows for situations where they aren't present for some reason and someone else is filling in. That makes it perfectly fine for the referee to not know who it was that yelled something; they can just discipline the coach and move on with the game, leaving that coach to get the players to shut up (or else).
I referee youth games, and this rule has extra importance, because league rules for youth safety say that a team MUST have an adult team official present in order to play, so if a team only has one coach (which is common) and they get a red card, then the game ends and that team forfeits. I was an assistant referee (linesman) for a game where that happened last fall. That was for the coach herself mouthing off, not this sort of bench penalty rule, but the result is the same.
Thanks for your insight and good luck with refereeing. It's a thankless job and I certainly wouldn't want to be in a situation where I had to make somebody upset over a tough call.
This is peak comedy🤣🤣
Yeah. Told him to take a HIKE.
I'm INCLINED to agree.
Was a real CLIFFHANGER.
Cool video I love that we get to see baseball this way
that was a great breakdown my man!!!!
It is mind-boggling to me that teams have no recourse when they encounter terrible work from umps like this. Just insane in this day and age.
Yet people will say we don't need robot umps because somehow they actually think this is good for the game
this is true despite the times umps get backlash for a situation but did their job. It should be required for umps to know who they're ejecting before doing it.
Pretty sure the recourse is pitchers throwing at bad umps since the MLB won't take action against bad umps. Screw the umpires and their union.
Pitchers should just start throwing at bad umps and catchers should just let balls pass. How's that for recourse?
@@PokemonTrainerVince That's a one way ticket to blacklisting and possibly a criminal case.
There should be the "Angel Hernandez Rule" if someone is thrown out of a game and the Ump was wrong, the Ump pays the fine.

The ump can choose to either clear the entire bench area or he can warn the bench/individuals in question and escalate from there.
