do you have any videos that discuss your feet at the finish specifically? I have a coach trying to alter a few pitchers, asking them to have a "bowler's finish"- where your drag foot comes up to form a figure 4 with your plant leg. I'm not arguing for or against- I simply want to make sure this is a good move.
Amber - this is different depending on the coach but IMO the figure 4 is not efficient for a few reasons. 1-you are giving up some power by bringing the back leg around instead of through and down the powerline 2-Balance...the back foot and leg moving away from the powerline can get the pitcher off balance, especially on the finish 3- fielding position. some coaches do not care about this but I think its super important for pitchers to get into a comfortable defensive position after the release. The figure 4 makes this difficult whereas if you go with a simple "knee to knee - back toe to front heel" finish it makes it very easy for a pitcher to step through into a fielding position.
