Hi Amanda. Thanks for all the videos. My 13 year old daughter is pitching and we've found them immensely helpful in improving.
You teaching style is awesome. You explain things more clearly and simply than anyone else we've found out there and your tips for how to practice executing on the concepts you teach are wonderfully clear.
If you so desire, I expect you'll have a great and long career after your done playing. Teaching the next generation.

Amanda Scarborough when you litt your leg back wouldn't it be illegal? my league has a rule tgat you can't step back behind the mound if you do its illegal

Peyton Kuhn i think this is just a drill to work on building up power in your drive leg. You wouldn't actually pitch like this in a game, but it helps to do it in practice so you can get your drive leg stronger. hope this helps :)

I think you will help me a lot because softball sign ups are gonna be here soon so I think this is good advice to practice this stuff.
As long as I have been playing softball for 3 years I have never seen such a good player like you before.

Thank you, Amanda! These have helped me so much! I never really pitched. I pitched one game inning when I was 12 and haven't since. Now I'm 17 and my coach is making me pitch in the spring. So I'm practically starting from square one. It's a huge and difficult change coming from outfield since I was 4 to pitching, but your videos have made it easier!

    Amanda,
This is really helpful for getting the power behind my legs. I saw this video last season and it helped throughout the spring. But I'm having trouble with driving my legs. Basically I'm getting all this power and it's going nowhere. Is there a drill that I could do that will help me drive my back leg?
    Thanks so much!

Hi Amanda. I have been searching for a new drill to get just a little more explosion from my drive leg and propulsion from my landing leg. This drill really seems to have the potential to do that. Once I get more comfortable from a balance perspective, I hope to practice the drill off of my Power Drive for more of a challenge. Thanks for the tip!
Now if you have any tips for how to improve my turn over drop, I am all ears. Improving that pitch this year before I start college is my primary goal.
Thanks for all that you do for the softball community.

Thanks Amanda, In some way I ended up to watch your videos, and guess what?. Not for softball (that I wish I can learn how to play), but for my racquetball swing. I am looking for drills and to get more power in my arm-shoulder as well as I can see the explosiveness of the hip. Thanks for the great tips I received from your videos. BTW I watched your right leg then your left and I got disconnected LOL. You're gorgeous ! :)

Just seriously, thanks for your nice training tips videos, It really works for me for racquetball drills, not only this one but there are more of them that I have watched. The only trouble I got is, how can I control my mind to rotate my hip for my swings. Any help is appreciated, =P love it!

Whenever I pitch I always throw my arm out because I'm relying too much on my arm circle for power and not my legs. How do I prevent this from always happening

Neilani P I am by no means an expert, but I've had about 4 years of expirience as a pitcher. I can tell you that focusing on working out your leg strength and endurance really helps. try to start working out your legs at least once a week. Try doing a mile or half a mile a week. It truly does help. Not only does it help with pitching, but it helps with running bases quite a bit. since you are throwing your arm out a lot, also try working on getting your arm strength up a bit more because you might be pushing yourself farther than your arms can handle. Again im not an expert, I just know a thing or two.

I had that problem to and my frind and we put a matteress on the wall and then did our arm circle and we needed to hit the mattress straight (it may be confusion)if we didn't we did 10pushups and also if your have problems with arm circles like moving it from your body practice up againist a wall

What i don't like is your back arm swing. It is not nessasary and has no benefits.
