I feel through experience EDC is the 80/20 Rule. 80% of the tools you actually use come from 20% of what you carry. I have a tiny Gerber Sidekick that I use more than my $100+ multi-tools. We often carry so much stuff we never actually need. Plus a lot depends on how you dress. If you are in a pair of jeans good luck carrying 12 different knives, tools, flashlights, medical, mags, pistols, etc.

Don’t wear jeans.Simple.I carry off duty every day,and I wear cargo pants that are low vis,and they hold all essentials I need in my loadout.Glock 43x,3 spare mags-two in a double mag pouch on the support side and one in my cargo pocket,Leatherman,Surefire light, folder, and blowout kit with a second tourniquet.Used to wear jeans before I became a Trooper, but I had to evolve, like those of us that know better.Cheers!

@UCZq6yZ00alTYTGbUrO0btNw Ever been in a firefight?Im betting no.I have been and I ran out of ammo once.If it weren’t for a buddy who had an extra I wouldn’t have made it.I’m a combat vet-ask any vet who’s been in a fight and they’ll tell you there’s no such thing as too much ammo.I can easily carry extra mags and it’s comforting to know if the balloon goes up,I’m ready. It’s not about being a hero-it’s about being there and being prepared to save lives.

I just have a to go bag that has all my edc even has a power bank that can keep my laptop charged for 16 hours without needing to be recharged it sits in the bottom of bag when I turn it on I uzip the flap and it works wonders for my edc went from trying to fine space for 4 pill to still having space to add double what I have and having everything I need on a day to day plus emergency I'm more of 80/60 I have things like medical bag that is part of the 40 buck I'd rather I didn't ever need it but will be glad its part of the 40 when I do need it

I wear carpenter jeans with extra side left pocket. Hammer/ax loop. I stuff 7in1 hood-mask/ rubber-coated gloves over stuff/edc on pockets for gear retention. I found my carpenter pants with deep pockets can carry more than my cargo pants and im able to run and be agile better in. 511 pants do well, but i make people paranoid/ and "cameraman" in em.

It's not exactly bug out gear, but a trickle charger for your car battery is absolutely essential for bugging in. We rarely use our car right now except for doctor appointments, and for groceries twice a month, and I'm blessed to be able to resume court reporting using ZOOM. So our car just sits in the garage. The trickle charger means our battery stays charged. It's very comforting!

@Predbeau101 Starting up car every week or so is not a bad idea, it would be ideal if you could go for a short ride though.
Buying a cheap trickle charger is a good option, they cost about same as you would spend on gas while your car will idle.

Thanks so much for all of these reviews and showcasing your EDCs. The Keybar, or a tool like it is so important from a home security perspective. I have a friend who is a locksmith and even taking a quick, momentary glance at my keys, can make almost an exact replica, without ever handling the key. Using a tool to hide your keys can help avoid this from happening. Thanks

That hex tool would be a pretty slick addition to my hunting pack. I'm an archery hunter, and I always have a hex set in my pack. Before I make my hike to the stand, I will check over my bow over in case my quiver or sights are loose. When I'm going in, I want to be as quiet as possible, and if my bow is making any noise because of a loose bolt holding something like my quiver, it makes noise. Not to mention if my sights aren't fully tight, it can make an easy shot a missed or wounded animal because it can funk up my pins. I do the same during turkey season going over my shotgun, because your slide can rattle around depending on the quality of gun you're using. I'm a hunter that takes everything into thought when prepping for opening day, so it works for me!

Get started with your regular therapy ASAP, you won't be able to do much at first but we know now he should've gotten started sooner!
Oh yeah it will be to your advantage to buy multiple long last gel ice packs and put them behind your knee back of your upper leg and below, my dad failed on this and suffered a bunch more swelling and inflammation and near risk of infection because he didn't througly ice pack enough

It's the same with a good multi tool. I just got a Leatherman Rebar purely because of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (I'm guilty) but since I have it, I actually use it pretty much every other day and it spares me quite some time EDCing it and not having to:
    - go get a box cutter
    - go get to the tool box to get a screw driver
    - go get pliers
    - get a bottle opener
    - get scissors
    - get who knows what tool you need for every day tasks
and not having to put everything back after I used it. Especially handy when you're at work or not at home and you need to have what ever tool at hand and you actually have it in you pocket or at your belt.
It's not just to have it for SHTF or the rare case of self-defense. The other day my wife bought a fen that needed to be assembled. I didn't need to go to the garage to get the tools I needed, I just grabbed the Leatherman from my belt and had everything I needed at hand. Surely a small amount of time that was saved there, but it was oh so convenient. Cutting all those boxes your wife orders at Amazon and put them to small pieces with your serrated multi tool blade is a joy. You want to change strings on you guitar? Just use the wire cutters from your Leatherman (which work better than dedicated wire cutters btw! Went through the thick B-sting of a 5-string bass like it was nothing!) Best $100 investment I made in a long time. The only thing it doesn't do is unscrew your wife. (stupid dad joke, I know)
Same with a tactical flashlight! I got the ThruNite BSS V4, which is just undeniably the best value for your money on the market at the moment! Super powerful tactical flashlight with an aggressive bezel that functions as a kubotan/tactical pen as well. Forget the "glas breaker" function though - you won't break car glass with most glass breaker tools or tactical pens that advertise this. I tried it multiple times on a scrap yard and a normal person won't be able to break a car door window with those, especially not from the inside. For that purpose, have a dedicated spring loaded glas breaker in your car!
And not only do I feel safer (especially where I live, where you can't carry fire arms or even knives), but I use it much more in every day life than I ever thought I would. Even if it is a simple task as to light up the dark parking lot at work or bringing out trash easier, because that land lord refuses to replace bulbs in the container area. Drop something under your car seat, your engine does funny stuff and you need to see what's going on, just pull your EDC flashlight and spare your phone battery or the way to the trunk to get a flashlight. Everyone should EDC at least a tactical light and a multi tool. Seriously! Even if I wear shorts that don't have loops for a belt, I wear a belt with all my EDC stuff on on top of it anyway when I leave the house, because it is so useful and nobody notices you wear it! I call it the "bat belt". I use some EDC hacks, so you don't have to carry a bulky leather cases for each and every item - but bike tire tubes are the greatest solution ever, trust me! Slim and discrete. I never go out without it anymore! In fact I feel naked when I left it at home for some stupid reason! It's even worse than to forget your phone.

That SOG MACV tool is awesome....my only complaint is that the top notches get caught on keyring and other keys!

I’ve been considering buying the Gerber Armbar Drive myself, mainly for the bit driver and the scissors..I EDC my Leatherman Rebar but unfortunately,it doesn’t have a bit driver and scissors..I wish I could swap out the knife blade for scissors on my Rebar..I’ve never used the knife blade on my Rebar because I always have a good knife on me

There were these swiss+tech multitool pliers floating around awhile back with a single diode flashlight built in.
I work with arduino and electrical components a lot, and I've been struggling to find a more heavy duty version of this tool.
I'm not well acquainted with the everyday carry scene. So I figure I'd drop a line and as y'all if you know where to find something similar.

Seeing that SOG tool which incorporates a knife sharpener,I would think more tools should have one of those, because out in the bush or hiking, your knife going blunt on you could be a real nuisance. A sharpener on the multi tool would be a godsend.

Wait until they make the version with a locking driver arm. It has a tendency to fold over.

Like you said not for everyone. For me an old fashioned key ring beats those heavy and imo weird looking key holders all day long. Yeah I guess I'm not cool.... On that $99 bit driver, I'll take a HF 4 bit combination screw driver for a whopping $2
