Buying a Zaku I and turning it into a Zaku II with a scratch-built bazooka is certainly an interesting choice instead of buying the Origin Zaku II that comes with a bazooka.
His motives are beyond our comprehension
Not available? I know the origins model resells for like 20-30% over msrp because its less common but more desirable.
Glad we got more gunpla on here! I have been curious on how a mini painter would take a gundam artifact kit since they are about the same size as a Warhammer mini
Njm Marco did a good Video a couple months ago you might want to check out.
Gundam eldar titan?
We need Murray narrating more of the spectacular lives of clay creatures, that was a pretty good impression.
I know nothing about gundam, but that’s what I love about this channel. Even if it’s from a game/ series/ fandom you’re not familiar with, you can appreciate the skill it takes to produce these pieces of art.
I wonder why Murry didn't use the actual Zaku 2 but since stock is hard to get and he got a video to make. CUSTOM it and make due what you got. Murry knows the gunpla knowledge.
Rock on Murry
Problem is there's a lot more differences between a Zaku I and a Zaku II than what he modded. And I'm pretty sure you can still find some variant of a Zaku II for less money than a typical 40k box.
I found one at my local hobbytown recently
@@bad-people6510 Bruh it doesn't matter if you want to use the actual Kit is use what you got, if you have the skills of custom build then do it. Adapt it
@@rubberduct2938 For you but not his area
I am actually curious, I would love to see Murray do a "exploded" master grade, where all the armor pieces have been "blown" off the main frame and hover around it. Like a blueprint image but with the main armor off. There's a couple people who have done this with the Master Grade Gundam Virtue from MSG:00. Also, for my favorite gunpla, I'd have to go with either the MG Ver.ka Psycho Zaku or the HG Hygogg (this one is more funny than anything else)
If you guys didn't know, there is a tabletop wargame using Gunplas called Mobile Suit Skirmish. It's fan made but quite well supported. I would like to see the game to be covered in here.
It looks fantastic. I love the cell shaded/cartoony style of painting models, and Murray, you have done a great job!
I noticed the Freedom sitting on the shelf in it’s box…the upgraded version (in Gundam Seed Destiny) the Strike Freedom is my favourite Gundam!
It’s cool that you went for an anime style approach rather than a miniature approach.
Stuff in this kinda style is always super cool!
that style is SO sleek, and Murray just killed it! I have nothing other to say than it looks amazing and I'd love to see more of it!!!
When you were examining the... Sculpt, I was glad to see that my concerns weren't entirely of my own perception haha
Murray is a dope member of the team. I really enjoy watching his features. The Tyranid diorama was beautiful. He did an excellent job on the space marine color scheme. Always professional and unique. It's great to see not Warhammer come to the channel too. I haven't ever had interest in building a Gundam but after his videos on it I might just have to with a friend.
Abrolutely awesome work.
As for what I'd like to see going forward: Maybe some content about the mobile suit skirmish game. Each one of you could customize their own gundam (kinda similar to the mcfarlane space marines) and you could make an awesome battle report maybe even on a custom colony styled gaming board similar to the battles in gundam 0080 war in the pocket.
Keep up the great work can't wait to see what you do next. :D
I like how the intro was just them typing rapidly away and then it just cuts to Murray being Murray
I love how you stuck to a very classic anime-esque style even on the smoke and the starscape, it really feels like it was just taken off the screen and put onto the table!
i probably woke someone up with my laugh when murray starerd at the oddly shaped sculpture
awesome vid we need MORE
Glad to see more mini painters taking a twist on gunpla painting. Always some great work! Keep it up!
This is amaaaaaazing, love the style of painting and would be awesome to see this become a series!
This video made my day and really inspired me!! I love Gunpla kits and seeing you bring the best character in the series alive was so cool to watch!
Manga Style seems really hard to do. The wall mounting was really a great idea. (And I see your brushes do that odd little bend at the top that mine always do after I have used for a while. Thought it was only me)
Man this is so cool!
If we are talking strictly Gundam, it is MS 08th Team. But if we are expanding it to all mecha, it is a toss up between Fang of the Sun Dougram or VOTOMS
Looks great! As someone outside the hobby, I am continually impressed by everyone's creativity!
I found that expanding foam is a great way to get smoke effects in certain scenarios
Murray is the David Attenborough of Tabletop Time... Love the Gunpla, Murray
I think I'm going to have to buy a gunpla for myself soon. That looked like a lot of fun to work on. Plus my youngest has been building up a collection of his own so maybe we could find a project together 😁
100% go for it, he describes it perfectly, it’s calming and makes you proud when you finish your gundam, only problem is money though
Go for it man! It is so much fun. I started collecting them a couple years ago. And have about 100 of them now. They are so fun to build
Please supply me more
@@greyperrin5929 sure you want Some zakus? 😂 i have an army
This is by far one of the coolest ways to paint a gunpla kit
I truly enjoyed this build, customization, and painting you did a fantastic job and produced a glorious piece. Now if we could somehow motivate GW to produce their large models to the same quality as gunpla. It would be truly fantastic.
Now I want to see an actual Gundam build with a manga cell shaded paint scheme, rather than a Zaku or grunt suit! That was amazing and would love to see more like this, if you are up for it! Maybe even try your hand at kitbashing?
Damn, Murray !!! That's something and a half! How about adding the rest of the "story" on the other side of the acrylic to show a gundam exploading on impact... Parts flying, leg armor here, chest plate there, dude imagine!! xD
The Intro to this video: tangible, visible proof of the phrase "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional."
And I have no problem whatsoever than this.
Favorite Gundam the MS-06S Zaku2 (Red comet version), Favorite series- Gndam Seed (Thanks Murray!)
The cool explosions in Gundam are called an Itano Circus, and the first time that aesthetic was ever used in animation was the Macross anime
"Named for the first animator to use the technique, the inventor, Ichiro Itano, is said to have discovered what it looks like to be in the middle of a hail of rockets when he attached fifty fireworks to his motorcycle and lit them all while driving it around on a beach. Alcohol may have been involved."
Apparently there's a fun story behind it too.
Finally! I've been waiting for a sequel to the gunpla vid for so long
My favourite Gundams, are the Core Gundam, Strike Gundam and Freedom Gundam. I'd like to see you all do core gundam kitbashes.
the smoke ploom looks cool and all, but what if he had inverted the shading? If the light is coming from within the ploom, then the lightest parts would be in the pits and recessions of the cloud bulges, while the darkest parts would be on the raised areas. This is because the raised areas are thicker, and further from the lightscource, and therefore darker. If you look at pictures of clouds with lighting internally illuminating them, thats what it looks like. I think if he had tried an alternative shading technique, the already cool looking purple mass would look even more awesome!!!
this is an impeccable piece i hope to see Murray and you all doing more gundam/gunplay pieces
You should definitely do more Gunpla stuff
Ripped it right out of a comic book. Looks good.
Is there anything that Murray can't do!?
I swear he's like a goddamn wizard when it comes to painting.
Nice work ! Murray did a great job !
I get that customising is a big part of gunpla... but there's already a kit of Char's Zaku II that has a bazooka XD
the sth-14s Hyakuri is a really cheap high grade but to this day is one of my favourites and one i always recommend, other than that the Blue Destiny HG is probably the tightest fitting kit i ever built, the catharsis of putting it's backpack on and how flush in clicks in just wow
I can never unsee Murray making eye contact with his black primed smoke.
This would look really awesome as a book end as well! Imagine making the other side where the rocket is close to hitting its target
finally! the first TTT gunpla!
Love to see more gunpla here! This is exactly the kind of style I’d like to try on my Entry Grade RX 78-2 one day
finally a gundam especially one of my favorites
Epic stuff! The Zaku is one of the coolest mech designs out there, and has even been my favorite mech since before I even knew what it was (seeing it as a kid but not knowing about the show). It's also always cool to see Gundam painted up in cell-shaded style; it really brings them to life, making them feel like the leapt straight out of the TV screen. More Gundam would be awesome to see.
Awesome vid, I like the cel shaded style painting on the model kit. Seeing this project makes me want to do a gunpla like this with a Borderlands Hyperion robot theme.
Good choice on the Zaku 1 kit too.
I love the Origin kits as well mate, they have the one of the best engineering on a HG model kit
That turned out amazing 👍🏻
I'd definitely like to see a graze build from Iron blooded orphans
I'm still new to the gumdam franchise, Gundam Seed was what introduced me to it. Iron blooded Orphan and Origin was the last series that I saw, I know I need to watch the original and I plan to one day
that looks amazing
Well done! That looks amazing, more gunpla
Great to see more gundam content, Hope's to see more in the future like dioramas, solo builds, and kit bashes, cant wait for more.
You should do the scene from ironblooded orphan season 2 where barbatos is fighting the mobile armor and he's gotten his arm ripped off so he jumps back and is standing on one of the other mobile suits and grabs the mobile suit sword. I think it's grimmgerd that he takes the sword from. that would be a sick diorama
Can you guys paint Commander Farsight in anime style? Or kitbash a Gunpla into Commander Farsight?
Yes
Yes
It would be really cool if you used an old kit or a first grade kit and customized it. They're way simpler and less detailed than modern kits, but it's really fun to turn then into something new.
My favorite models are the RX-0 Unicorn and Banshee, the Messer, and Gundam Exia from 00
It looks so good
Gundam wing as that was the first one I watched Tallgeese (all versions) was my fave (have tons of the toy action figures) but liked Iron Blooded Orphans as was nicely done but also no lasers so gave it a more rugged look
I'd love to see more Gunpla- some of the less Gundam knowledge trying to build and paint, say, a Master Grade or a Real Grade! Eventually a perfect grade would be awesome. Also, a video showing just how different the techniques and terminology between Gunpla and Mini building is! For example, in gunpla you cut the piece from the Runner, far away from the piece to not disturb the color of or warp the plastic.
Oh, a d my favorite Gundam series is Turn A Gundam. With mecha design by Syd Mead and imo Tomino's magnum opus, its not only my favorite Gundam series but my favorite anime period.
Murry, a battle scene between Gundam would be amazing a I know you could do it!
There's actually a zaku ii model from gundam the origin which comes with that particular bazooka,so when I was watching you build and customise the zaku,I was thinking:why? Amazing video by the way!
It would be sick to make a larger gundam possibly breaking though a wall or something like that. My favorite is the Barbatos Lupus Rex from Iron Blooded Orphans
I'd love to see you do a custom paint and diorama of a gundam, the RG Hi Nu Gundam (specifically they RX93-V2) would be super challenging due to it's complexity, but it's such a cool model kit.
Zaku is always my favorite, the classic green zaku ♥
I like a lot of the painting you did here, and I like the idea of the smoke bloom being the base, but I feel like that could have been executed a bit differently so you could see the front of the gundam instead of the back.
Yooooooooo! This is super dope! Haven't even thought of something like this existing. I hope you guys do more like this
3 of the group should paint Gaia, Mash and Ortega's Dom units to see who can do it best
Could’ve just got one of his Zaku 2 kits from origin instead. That already had the cables and proper chest as well as the bazooka
Kinda odd seeing power pipes on a Zaku I, but this is awesome none the less.
great video and beautiful Squidmar Airbrush
You did the Plume highlighting the wrong way around, if it’s illuminated from the inside the crevices would be the brightest being closer the the centre.
Well done on such a great kit also my favourite/movie series is UC 0093 Char's counterattack. My favourite gundam is the Nu Gundam (or the Hi-Nu) either way the RG kits are some of the best ever made I recommend you get one
This literally looks like it's straight out of Gundam the origin
More gunpla content please ❤
I love this build! But the zaku fan in me notices you didnt make the tubes going into the legs. Thats another big difference from the zaku i to zaku ii
YES MURRAY! That looked awesoome! I actually would love to see you paint up a kill team in this anime style! I think it would look awesome!
I have a master grade Zaku 2 in my pile of shame, I just kept putting it off because I wanted it to be my best work. The Zaku 2 has always been my favorite mobile suit design.
Nicely done!
I love gunpla, just to let you know that isn’t a gundam, it’s a zaku II
Oooh the Gundam 00 series were great. The 4 main Gundams were each unique with different tactical abilities.
Yes more Gunpla Stuff!! Been tempted to buy my first kit of ages but after watching this, definitely going to be ordering one and hiding it from the wife 🤫 as for Favourites
Show - Gundam Wing
Gundam - Barbatos Lupus Rex
The Master Grade Wing Zero EW Ver. Ka is a piece of art in itself. I'd love to see a take on those angel wings. Let's stealth Tabletop Time into a Gundam channel haha.
With just a little more work this would have been gunpla builders world cup level. GG
The battle between Wing Zero Custom and Altron Custom from Gundam Wing Endless Waltz would make a great 3D art
wow It's beautiful, I really like watching your videos. I want to be like you and until now I'm still learning to make it well.
Awesome work Muz he looks sick!
You've good some good comedy chops, Murry, bloody good video
Why do you talk like that?
If I had to pick my favorite mobile suits of all time they would be the Wing Zero and Deathscythe from Endless Waltz
Would be cool to see some IRON-BLOODED Orphans kits like Barbatos fighting the mobile armor or Flauros firing its deinslav (not sure how to spell it) at the Arianrhod.
You could've gotten the zaku II version lmao so you don't have to waste to much time converting it. Big props tho you actually did it.
Wow these sounding rods are getting pretty elaborate
Not a complaint or anything but why not buy a zaku 2 high mobility type with the bazooka and then paint it in chars colours? It's likely much easier (I've done it Myself) and more accurate
Otherwise spectacular job and that smoke plume was amazing
just saying, could've used the hg zaku ii revive or the hggto red comet. final result would be pretty much the same, but would've saved a lot of time with the scratch building
Hi love your content you should make another tabletop that would be great!
It would be incridible if you paint a Master Grade Barbatos
Theres a sculptor named LeesedRenfort that makes gundam models for Tau proxies. I actually thought this was one of his sculpts.
Yessss more Gunpla
