You know I really love Dave Canterbury and have been a long fan but this is starting to feel gimmicky like I’m all for him branching out and finding new ways to make money but this is starting to feel farther away from who he is or was
Just curious about what you feel is gimmicky? I would certainly hope the Alcohol stove which has been re-engineered and re-designed for specific purposes isn't gimmicky? It's more functional now, especially with various stove stands we sell. Or a French press when coffee is an outdoors enthusiast best friend and a staple for outdoor people in general. Or a multi-functional stove stand when multi-function is what we preach on a regular basis? It's a stove stand that works with virtually all stoves on the market, map tool, can opener, bottle opener, measuring device. Certainly respect your opinion, but not seeing any gimmicks here. Multi-functional/ingenuity maybe, but not gimmicky.
@@SelfRelianceOutfit I do love the canteen and cook set since no one else makes them with the same specs to nest in each other which is awesome. I'll take back my gimmicky that wasn't a nice word, It just feels like the direction this is going in is not familiar to me. That's just my opinion, I'll always be a fan, and I really miss the fieldcraft content, seems like it has been primarily cooking for the last while but I get it, how many times do we need to be shown/taught the same techniques.

Can anyone confirm whether there is any wicking material in this new model burner? I have the original and it doesn't appear to. My original seemed slow to bloom and burned pretty yellow. I opened up the holes a scosche with a small bit and it now blooms a bit faster and burns blue.
Hopefully I can snag all 3 before thy're gone. I'll be prepared to Hit order button as soon as they are for sale.

I only wish that some of the prior purchases I've made were still available. There's a few knives and Sheaths that I'm mad that I didn't get. Different Tshirts. I do miss the knife sharpening you offered. Even though I have gotten better at it as a result. But, my knives could use a good touch up. Lol. Have a Blessed day.

Just got ride of a 1968 new unused Swedish M40 stainless to replace with this one. Really hope it’s the same gauge of steel and as well made as the original.
Only swapped for the stainless windshield. Definitely hope it turns out worth it

More info on coffee press please..size? Stainless or titanium? Does it nest with any of your other cups?
Stainless Steel. The 25oz cup nests inside. The 64oz bottle also nests inside. Our 8oz tins when available also slide down into the cup nicely, much like in our woodman's pantry plus kit which uses the 48oz cup. The same cup was used with modifications to create the French Press Kit.
What is the fuel capacity of the new stove? and does it leak like the old version or not?
