I would love a modern day MemoryMoog. Reimplement the same sound engine with modern enhancements for reliability and convenience. Make it eight-voice. I would weep for joy.
I’ve seen quite a few expose on how Moog USA treats its employees. I know I’m supposed to be a Moog lover but I’m beginning to dismiss them more lately, Supercritical Redshift 6 seems like a better investment at this point! You can bet your hard working “assets” that you’ll have to empty all your pockets on THE MUSE. And it won’t make all that big a difference in your musical output. At this point I starting to see Moog like an actual piano…..it’s just pretty decor for the most part.
I’ll be interested to see the build quality on this. This is their first synth since InMusic bought them, and they’re not known for being the sturdiest gear in the world (coughing: “M-Audio!”)
I'm pretty apprehensive, I think I'll stick to the Grandmother and Matriarch. Besides I'm more of a pure Analog guy. But I hope it's a good build for the people who want it
@@ijmball123 Oh man, I don't know. It depends on how much you're willing to spend, how much you value the extra 2 oscillators that Matriarch has to offer, whether you want spring reverb over stereo delay. They can both do some things really similarly but I'd say Matriarch just because there's more possibilities there, especially with the 2 and 4 note paraphony. But if you're just getting into analog synthesis the Grandmother is so much fun. It can do great basslines too
I read in the /r/synthesizers subreddit someone from Asheville was saying he knew people that worked at the factory and this seems to be the last release with those workers who have been at Moog a while. Now anyone can get on the internet say anything they want but if true I’ll be really interested to see how it comes out.

@@balloonman8796if you had to choose one, would you pick the GM or the Matriarch?
The question is the price gonna be lowered due to the takeover
