Not only a keyboard giant but also an excellent narrator with a good sense of humour.

Nice reference to Keith Emerson there.

Rick speaks with such passion and compassion, and his hands speak so fluently and magically for all of us to experience his joy in playing.

As well as being a fantastic player and writer, Rick also happens to be one of funniest and friendliest people around.

With only our outsider view of Rick Wakeman, I think we can still tell, he's a really decent guy!

My Dear Mr. Wakeman , I remember seeing you in Toronto when we still had the Maple Leaf Gargans. It was Procal Harem who opened up your show. I bought your albums ever since. King Arther, Journey to centre of Earth, and Olypic games . I really enjoy your album King Henry wives.
You and Larry Fast, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Phillip Glass, Karl Stockhaussen , Legiti, Delia Derryshire, wow,,, the list goes on.
Thank you for starting my interest in my venture and exploration of the best music that we can create. My late Father was an organist for our church, back in the days, so, I learned just how great music is. Now, I create my own. I am not a professional. However I try to create my art because I love it. It's not work.
    It's life.
Yours and forever, Mr. Rick Wakeman,
Thank you for kick starting my life.
    Many Thanks and Blessings,
    Yours,
    Janet Craft🌙

I got to meet Rick, Jon, and Trevor. Nothing unique. Just a meet and greet before a show. But I was still blown away by how genial and warm they all were towards everyone there. I've had the chance to meet a handful of renowned musicians under various circumstances, but the three of them really did go the distance in regards to how they treat their fans.

I met Jon Anderson and his wife on their way to big sur California in Monterey at a convenience store and a very good friend of mine who I lived with came from and move back to your town! Mr Wakeman ! Also Rick Wakeman is a monster who I have wittiness to the same thing he does here , making a mini Moog stand up and come alive . I hung out with Bob at a conference and he was and will always by one in a million. He is looking down on Rick every day for what he has done for this incredible instrument. Peace Christo 👽🐕🎶🛸❤️

I learned what music was when I heard the album "Journey to the Center of the Earth". Then there were so many other wonderful albums, and I became a Rick fan like so many others around the world. Long live the genius of keyboards.

Something about the Minimoog, Once I start playing with i end up burning 2 hours playing it and it would feel like you were just playing for 15 min. Its an amazing instrument.

Very cool interview with Rick and Michelle. I've been a fan of Rick's, since his 1st solo album, and Close to the Edge. I was able to buy my Mini back in the mid 80's for $650 when everyone was dumping their analog keys, for the new digital stuff that was starting to come out. Although it wasn't fully functional, I put it aside for years (actually decades) until I finally found someone that I felt could trust to restore it. Got it back this past January, from being restored, and now it sounds beautiful. If any of you with Minis that need to be repaired or restored, contact "Synthpro". He is one of the best (if not THE best) repair techs out there. He has many videos on UA-cam showing what he does to make a Mini sound great again. He has done restorations for the Moogseum Minimoog raffles also.

What I find interesting is that if you hear Wakeman, or Moraz, or Banks, etc. fooling around on a Moog, it's very hard to tell who it is by what they play. But when you hear Emerson fooling around on a Moog, you know almost instantly it's him. His style is that unique.

Hi Rick. I worked many times with a mutual pal, a drummer, Mack Poole. He was always surprised when I would show up to play R&R with my Model D. Mack promised one day that he'd introduce me to you. Mack sadly passed away as you may probably know before he had the opportunity. Best wishes. I, like you, could not live without my MiniMoog.

As usual Rick had me piss myself laughing. And that is almost as valuable a part of him as his music. I found this to be enjoyable. I got caught up with ELP back in the 70s and had to get a synth but couldn't afford a minimoog and ended up with a Roland SH-1000. Still had fun and learned alot.

What a wonderful insight into the world of Moog. Robert's legacy will live on for ever through the joy of music. He literally changed the world as those iconic sounds reach far and wide.
Just one thing Mr Wakeman............those poor Minimoogs............don't they get very cold all alone in the cold, damp shed?

    • @NeuronalAxon

Should be a dehumidifier and heater in that shed, at least.

I cant believe he has a lifetime of gear in some old barn with a rickety wooden door... in Norfolk? That treasure should be in a proper bldg with HVAC on his own property, fenced in with savage guard dogs surrounding the premises.

I Very much share Rick’s love of the Minimoog. That they all sound different is brilliant and fascinating to me. I’d love to hear Rick play his classic saw lead on the one that really sings beautifully compared with one that doesn’t. I’ve owned three that don’t, maybe I’m unlucky, more likely I just can’t make them sing!

OK I love the Moog model D even if it is Monophonic. I do not have one but I did latch on to a Moog Slim Phatty, hardly a Tone Monster but it was quite affordable from the Analog Haven, and somehow I received the fourth one off the production line #000004.
It really sucks the Model D purchased from Jack Wild was knicked, I hope it DID quit working for the sot that took it. lol

Bought a minimoog back in 1978 for $1600 tagged up with some friends to try and start a band but all they wanted to do was cover genesis songs so I left hoping to find someone else who would start an original band but to no avail after 6months sold the moog for$1000🙄
