AVA is a band full of love, i dont mean only albums called Love 1,2, but their wibe,chords in every album. This one is their most dark. Best AVA albums are their two first albums, albums LOVE 1,2 too cool, other least honestly. This album is also good, but not as good as the previous ones in my opinion.

starting off with dream walker is interesting. it's definitely the most ambitious sounding album with them going with an entirely new experimental sound and Ilan Rubin helping out with the new sound. if you want prime AVA it's I-Empire.

I’d be interested to hear your reaction to California or Neighborhoods. Neighborhoods was post the first breakup and it sounds like AVA + Blink. California is the first album without Tom Delonge with Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio being the lead vocalist on that record, it’s actually quite good.
If you only ever listen to One AvA album, it should be "We don't need to whisper" I much prefer Blink and boxcar but We don't need to whisper and some of i-E are fantastic

Don't listen to the haters, Dream Walker is refined AVA wine. The first 2 albums are great, and Love 1&2 are incredible, but for a full AVA standalone experience, this album slaps.
I tried to love AVA because I love Tom but I just couldn’t get into them, I listened to this and fell in love instantly, and absolutely amazing album and the only one I listen to.

The album Dream Walker is for it, since the short film and two novels and graphic novels that goes with it all it's about dreams, and dream walking. Tom with AvA wanted to do a media house. I definitely prefer blink-182 over AVA and it’s not even close. Best albums to me were WDNTW and I-E, it starts to sound very samey after that with Love 1&2, then I stopped caring to bother. This was my first listen as well and though I liked a few songs this was just kinda meh to me.

I could talk about them for hours but I guess that's enough haha Also, lots of people call it a side project which I don't is fair. Box Car or Mark's +44 are side projects. Each had one album. AVA Has existed since 2005, has 5 albums, some EPs and was Tom's main band for years. I see it as Tom's baby in a sense that it's whatever he wants it to be, it's just his band really compared to Blink where it's the combination of the 3 guys. Tom loves to rip himself off. Paralyzed is nearly the same riff and melody as Rebel Girl. Also his vocal phrasing never has any kind of flow and is almost infuriating to listen to the choppiness in the lyrics. Not to mention the lyrics are terribly cringe. He can get away with it in Blink cause it’s pop punk but in this style of music it doesn’t fit.
