- I painted our dining room pink and I'm not 100% sure that I like it. When it first went on the wall, I was like, "I dunno". Right now, I'm at like, 95%.
In part 1 of this series, we're talking about all the changes in our dining room and then painting. In part 2, we'll start the gallery wall.

I am into the pink and red concept. I think your could have gone less warm in the color since you have the red and blue with kind of blue undertones. But I personally love warm pinks. I love the red bar cabinet on the pink wall. I think black handles on the bar will ground the piece especially since you have the black dining table. Love your makeovers! So original and always fun to watch your process. V
I feel like a pink dining room is so Black and I love it! It reminds me of the homes of some of the matriarchs in my family 🙌🏾

Hi Guys- I think you should paint the mirror and cabinet handles brushed gold. I don’t know what your ceiling light fixture looks like currently but something that has the gold or organic materials would tie it all together. Can’t wait to see part 2!

Yes! That's exactly what I wanted the pink to be, a "more exciting neutral".
I love it!! With the knobs, I personally would strip the paint … if it’s wooden, just stain them.. it would give it a mid century vibe

I absolutely love the pink walls, and the credenza! Pink with the contrast of wood makes both pop. I'm not a fan of the red cabinet and blue chairs, a wooden cabinet would also contrast with the pink walls so beautifully.
I always liked the green cradenza in your NYC apartment but the new one looks great in this room.

I was high key obsessed with this credenza when I first saw it! I don't think Ohio "gets" the look because I was trying to play it cool while messaging the lady over 2 weeks and no one swooped in and got it.

By the end of it the color grew on me. If the red cabinet was a lighter color metallic color knobs would be nice. I'm sure whatever you decide will look great as usual.

Celia, I LOVE the pink! For the mirror, my vote is for mimicking the look of your credenza’s handles. How about painting the handles on the cabinet in the same paint as your walls? Can’t wait to see part 2! And, as always, love to see you keep things real as you and Sean go through the process.

It's looks great. Im still team keep the knobs as is on the bar cabinet. It looks so unique on camera. Also not that you asked and not to annoy Shawn but have you guys considered doing the baseboards and trim with the pink as well? Just a thought. I think the full saturation would look great.

I live in a Los Angeles 1930 Spanish revival with Art Deco accents. I have been mulling over painting my bedroom pink for over a year. My ceiling is domed so I would paint it pink as well along with the baseboards, doors, and windowsills. I think it would warm the room up a bit and soften the natural light. I have north and west-facing windows. The color scheme is mostly reds, golds, some black, and mismatched dark woods. Every other room in the house is white. I was thinking of a shade very much like yours. There can be something very artistic and emotionally expressive about pink. ❤
If all the other walls are white you should definitely go for it! A private space like your bedroom is a great place to experiment with color.

I'm diggin it:) I used to use an angeled brush to cut in all the trim. However, a few years ago I discoved metal paint trim guards....and fell in love. I use them along with a mini roller (so that paint does not get underneath the guard), and cut my painting time tremendously. Can't wait for Part 2. You guys are an awesome duo🎨🖌
I love the pink and your credenza.Have you ever seen those antique Chinese cabinets that are red with dark bronze handles? Maybe you could try that with your cabinet.

Beautiful! But if you had to do it again, would you do more coats? I've never used Clare, do you need primer?
The pink walls, all the taupe and brown accessories and the sideboard look soothing together. The red and white cabinet is a little too kitschy, in my opinion, for the elegance the table and sideboard bring to the room but I just know this is a trust the process moment and I cant wait to see how you pull it all together.

i think the mirror would look good painted a canary yellow or a cool yellow
That's a great suggestion! I was thinking green but I have some pressed flowers from my mom that have a yellow background and it looked so good against the pink!

@@Celiadw You can’t buy it stateside. I was in Toronto in 2019 and I met a guy who was selling it out of his house. He charged me $80! I think I paid less than $15 when I visited Cuba in 2017.

I'm starting to feel like the cabinet knobs should be black now, to pull from your table color and all the decorative pieces you have on the labia console wall 🤔 🤔🤔🤔
I need to see it in a different light. I'm seeing that grandparents pink bathrooms vibe.. And I'm sure that's not the goal 🤣🤣🤣. If I understood you right your thinking about the knobs on that other piece. I saw a lady on Instagram have a piece something like that and it was painted green and she had pink tassels for knobs/ pull. If I see her picture/ page I'll it send to you.
Hahahaha! Fair enough on the pink. It can have brownish tinge in the right light which is what I love about it but it's not for everyone! Other people have sent the lady with the green cabinet to me! She's got quite the following!

I'm not a fan of pink shades at all (for me), but that pink looks pretty damn good, you made a solid choice. It complements the Labia Majora Console perfectly ❤️👍🏾 sorry I'm so unserious 😆
I think if you get another step ladder that has one more additional step (4 steps?), it will be easier for him to cut in so he won't have the 3rd-wall fall off issue 🤣
I’ve had a pink living dining room for 32 years. The room is about 25 ft long x 12-14 ft wide. We have a large East window and west sliders, so the light throughout the day is ever changing. With trees in the front and back, it is cozy.
I like how you are trying things.
Btw, the nightstand is cool, it needs it’s own spot.
I wish we got better light in this apartment in general but I love that I'm not alone on the color front! I will admit I'm a pink covert now, it'll definitely show up again.
