    On the right side his nose goes over his right knee. On the left side his nose lands centre body.

    I get about the same results as in the video, but there is no pain. Instead, it seems like the range of motion is 2" less on that side. Abduction, adduction, flexion, extension and internal and external rotation are OK. I do get a catching hip pain sometimes when "braking" or stopping while walking and when stair climbing. Some adductor pain. No morning problems. No more crepitus on that side compared to other.

    Doctor, i am in my late 30's. I have a right hip joint arthritis at the beginning stage and 3mm lower back disc protrusion. Are they interrelated, did one resulted the other, does treatment of one will heal the other? Did covid19 treatment (azythromycin) caused one or both of them? I think many people have such issue nowadays and your answer would benefit hundreds if not thousands. Many thanks!

      How many people who have hip arthritis also have low back issues. They don’t always cause problems with each other but can. Azythrmyecin is not a common cause of either of these

    how do you diagnose bone on bone hip pain without diagnostic test? I play tennis after I played 2 sets tennis, hip turn painful in 3rd set, turning my hip to hit forehand hip progressively got worse. If I had bone on bone hip, wouldnt it hurt from the beginning?

      In your case, you may have an "Over-use" and muscle imbalance problem, so other muscles are getting strained, compensating for the over-use. The solution: Do balanced stretch and strengthening, nothing gung-ho which would make it worse, so ice, then heat, every hour, and let your rehab work. When your muscles are balanced, you should be able to play a "reasonable" game of tennis.
      There are some exercises to do like "ball squeeze" between your knees, and a doubled-up pillow between your thighs, plus a few more. Don't overdo the rehab.
      I speak from experience, over-use and compensation has taken me to the point where I cannot get down on the floor as I once could, or get back up without what I used to call "like a baby giraffe." I do also have hip and other arthritis, goes with the territory for many of us in our 60s.
      I follow Alyssa Kuhn, doctor in physical therapy, because she's awesome for showing multiple exercises, why to do them, what they target, and more.
      Good luck!

    Does this mean that if you are able to do this movement with elbows on each side, you don't have arthritis?

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  2 роки тому +3

      Not necessarily but this is a common presentation when AR gets worse

      You need to pay attention if you feel discomfort on one side. Hip discomfort gradually gets worse over time. Go for an x ray and see what the surgeon says.

    These useless DUTCH doctors, during years, did not check my hip mobility when I came to them, many times, with low back and legs pain. Six years ago they did a MRI and could find nothing and affirmed that it was muscular tension. In january this year, due to my insistence my doctor referred me for a hip X-Ray and 3-4 grade hip osteoarthritis was diagnosed. A real disaster!

    Well why don't you show us what it should look like he is showing that he has a problem with his hip. Why don't you show us what it looks like to do that when your hip normal? We're only seeing the abnormal hip. Why don't you show a picture of what it looks like when you've bend.down and you have a normal hip

      Correct. The AR is most involved in the left hip. Sorry, old video and should have pointed that out better.
