  • 2016 Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider S Review
Here it is! After a long wait I finally got my hands on the Dyna Low Rider S. On this review I was fortunate to have the bike for the day and I travelled over 130 miles in both motorway and urban environments.
Please note I do not claim to be an expert on reviews, I am simply describing my experience - I would alway recommend test reviewing all bikes before you purchase.

I literally just bought one today. My first Harley ever. I came from super bikes so definitely different but it’s exhilarating! I bought the 2019 Honda 450 L dual sport two weeks ago and now I just want to ride the Harley 😂

That was 100% pure awesomeness! I actually felt a hint of adrenaline like I was riding the bike when I was watching you tear through those streets. I have been wanting to test ride a Low Rider S for a while and watching this video solidified my desire to take one out. A+ video!

As another commenter stated so well, a Harley ignites a passion inside you. It's hard to explain, but that passion feels like this reviewer sounds - an ear to ear grin as you roll on that throttle and feel the thunder. I've owned 18 motorcycles from all over the world, but the only one that has ever touched my soul is a Harley dyna. It's not about the bike with the best performance statistics. It about the bike you can't stop thinking about riding.

I had the same reaction riding the 2016 Lowrider S. Hands down most exhilarating bike I ever rode! I currently own a 1977 Lowrider. (First year Lowrider model) Fun bike to ride, but it's a night and day difference compared to the FXDLS.... Great review man 👍

I'm new to being seriously interested in a Harley. I've known the name and people who have owned them, but haven't men interested until lately when I seen the Breakout. Your review of the dyna has put them on my radar. I like your style of review. Keep it up man!

I bought this bike (2017 FLXDLS) for my wife, 1st bike ever for her, I had to buy JRI 11" rear shocks, Progressive monotube 1" lower and a Lepera reduced reach seat and 7 adjustment Oberon brake/clutch levers and of course a crash bar/engine guard. She already made use of the crash bar, she dropped it at almost a stand still. The bike was too tall for her. She has not ridden yet with the shorter shocks, front end, and seat as of yet. That I put most on and Motonewbrider says this bike is f**king amazingly fast and you have to hold on.

excellent review and fun to watch! I have test ridden that model and it was impressive. BUT! For a third of the price, you can build a sportster 1250 that will be just as fast, or faster, and handle much better. I know because I've done it. I picked up an '01 sportster solid mount for 2k, added 4k in mods, engine, and clutch.

My only gripe is the fly by wire. I prefer the cables. No matter what there's gonna be a delay once your throttle starts to think. Aside from that throw a set of 12 or 14 inch apes and that would be the perfect Harley. I'm a huge bobber fan.

    HI BlockHead,
Cloud you help me with something. I have a 2016 HD 1200 Roadster with V&H Exhaust, RDS air Filter and FP3 Fuel pack and, by watching your video's i become caught up about this idea of changing the Roadster to an LowRider S from 2016.
The question that i have, is the Low Rider S good, maneuverable in the city? I will use the bike mostly for city rides, and not so much for out the city (for that i have a 2006 GSA)
I ve seen that you complained about the excessive heat, is that still present while using the LoveJags ventilators?

Test rode one last weekend - first Harley I've ever ridden. It looks pretty cool & that engine is really sweet and good fun. The handling and braking is impressive considering the weight & cruiser dynamics. I think the torque is probably limited in 1st & 2nd as it only has a 160 rear but never tried to light it up on full throttle & it feels quicker in 3rd than 2nd. Worst aspect for me was not being able to see the rev counter. They should build a discrete LCD into the back of the headlight. I found the gear shift OK but the rear brake awkward.
Nice ride. Not sure I'd buy one, but enjoyable.

Just a point that the 'mid-controls' on the Low Rider S are 'Further Forward mid controls'. So they are actually 2'' forward than standard mids like you find on streetbobs for example.

The Breakout is the one to ogle, but the Low Rider S is the one that's fun to ride (IMO). The only thing I don't like on the S model are those gold wheels. But it's easy enough to get them painted black or just polished, so it's not a real deal breaker.
Thanks for the upload review and enjoy the weekend.

What's the protocol on test riding at a dealership? Do you have to give money just in case you crash ?

Great review dude. I bought one of these things.
Know exactly where you're coming from on this test ride. I've had loads of bikes of all shapes and sizes and thought I'd seen it all, but this is hands down THE most fun motorcycle I've ever ridden.
It's total sensory bombardment and being so low to the tarmac and everything out in front of you. When you give it the beans OMFG!
I've had some really nice bikes, but I've never loved any bike like I love this. Anyone reading this, if you ride for the sheer pleasure of riding and you're just looking for something to put a massive smile on your face. Seriously even just cruising about, it just feel so good. The throttle's soooo smooth too, it's like a carb bike. The best fuel-injection on anything I've ridden (you reading this Yamaha?). I was the last guy who you'd have thought would be saying this about a Harley. Try one of these, before they water them down.
