5 years later and that 16 low rider is still the perfect bike
Just picked up my Low Rider S yesterday with the 117. Holy $hit does that thing move! I felt like a little kid again with a new toy. Thanks to you Matt and the videos that you produce, I opted for the 117 installation. Keep up the excellent work.
Aprojeep Congrats brother. Enjoy that thing. Try to stay out of trouble on that beast.
The club style 2 tone low rider is probably the sexiest bike ive ever seen. I like em usually just black paint w the quarter fairing all custom but this 2 tone is mean. Ive watched this video a bunch in the last few years and when i get a harley it will look identical to this. In either solid black or just like this
The Low Rider is very well done. Tasteful and functional. Beyond the fashionista handlebars I wouldn't change a thing.
I got a 2015 street bob with the SE stage 4 kit. Bassani road rage 2 exhaust with a Roland Sands air cleaner. TTS tuner, progressive 444 shocks Le Pera seat with a Conoly fairing, west coast T bars and am currently having some new low rider rims powder coated black and converting the front end into a dual disc.
Thanks for this one, definitely got my considering Lucky Dave's bars & seat for my fxdls!
You'll like them
They are both beautiful bikes. Once again another great video by you Matt. I am a proud owner of a 2017 Low Rider S and I will never get rid of it. It is an amazing motorcycle to look at and an even better bike to ride. It's got the club look right out of the factory and the power and performance to match. And although there are many out there who don't like the bronze/gold wheels I absolutely love them. They distinguish the bike from all other Harleys and let the world know its an S series Dyna. The Dyna was Harley's muscle bike and most badass offering. As nice as the new softail/dynas are to me they lack the look, personality and heritage of the true Dyna Glides. Thanks again Matt. Your videos are awesome.
getting my fxdls set up right now as we speak guy called said they couldn't do the quarter fairing so I looked up this video specifically and sure enough good ole Matt had my back with the brackets listed to make it work with the fairing, called my dealer back with info was handled in 10 mins. Thanks Matt!
Haha Nice! Glad I could help!
Can you post exactly what's needed for the HD fairing to fit a dyna. Thanks and great videos.
Looks like the Dynas are where it's at right now Matt. Tres cool, I really loved my Street Bob and these S Models are phenomenal. If I had the means I'd put together a Street Bob S. Thanks Matt.
this are pieces of art. Thanks for sharing. On 1st. low rider, what did you use to relocate the headlight to the bottom tree? I'm in the middle of that upgrade and I'm trying to avoid drilling the tree
JuanderBoy this!!! I'm in the same boat.
Frank Skrobot I found out 2 weeks ago that there is a really easy and cheap solution. You can get the block from a Street Bob, it goes right on the bottom tree and very inexpensive. Also get the LED Headlamp Housing Kit, part #: 67700093B. Both are original HD parts so the dealer can hook you up. You should be way under $100 for both.
JuanderBoy nice. Good looking out.
So much work was put into this video. So much detail. A lot of enthusiasm man ! It shows. I can't wait for the next video!
Thanks Richard
The FXDL wins with this one. It’s a perfect build imo. Seems as though people will pick a FXDLS just because of its acronym and the “status” with being able to say you own one these days. The showcase bikes are always great to see, thanks for doing these!
Yea, there is definitely a status and mystique that comes with the bike.
Matt what did you do for the lowrider headlight? I have a 2016 lowrider and I have t bars and a firing to put on but that stupid visor that holds the light has me curious if there is an easy way to remount the light. Thanks
On the first Dyna, do you happen to have the part number or more description on the rear LED turn signals? Those are slick
When I first clicked on the thumbnail, I didn’t even notice whose video it is.
Then I heard the monotone bored robot voice, and instantly knew, ah that’s matt laidlaw!!
Truly beautiful specimens of Dynas! Your shop and team are on point Matt! 👍🏽
Hey Matt nice review, any chance you could find out where that tail light came from? Thanks
Was the first Low Rider put together by you guys at your dealership? Thing is beautiful. I am looking for one like this in this color. Any chance that exact one might be for sale somewhere in your area?
These bike look fantastic... just those handlebars gotta go
Just my opinion... great videos bro keep up the good work 👍🏽
Best one I've seen , and not all black
Hey Matty, all these years later and I still love that FXDL. What sort of power and torque did it have with the stage 3 110” kit? Thinking of the same kit for my FXDB. Cheers mate.
I know this off topic, but in your opinion would you say not internally wiring a set of t bars on a 2016 street bob would make it look ugly ?
Eli Medina i had t bars on my street bob and never got around to run the wires internally and it bugged me
I am tired of watching these videos without having a Harley myself. Im gonna quit watching it now and go make some money! See you in a while
I like the attitude!
doing the same right here!
mrbige90 nice man. Get it.
Timo Brown hey wait for me! 😃
Timo Brown ..High cost of ownership just to say you have one. Loving Harley reminds me of that story called The Emperor has no clothes. Also remember, misery loves company.
Sick bikes! All the softail lowriders that have came into the local shops near me are still sitting there lol
Fantastic video on the Dyna low's, especially liken the info on the parts list, keep them coming.
Omg I love this bike looks clean AF! Thats the Dyna I want that colour combination is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I have seen my vision thank you😃🤙
what size rider would you say would be good for these Dyna Low Riders? Anyone over 6' and 250+ lbs? And are you going to do a ride review on this bike? I really like your videos bro. keep it the great work. ride safe.
Thank you. Get forward controls and a custom Dyna seat that kicks you back a couple inches.
Sorry to ask Matt but if you get the chance could you ask the owner what brand that taillight is because it is sweet?
Nice job perfect dyna for my taste !! Where buy this fender ? My street bob come with cut fender
What cables did you change in order to install a new luck Dave bars? I have a 16 lowrider.
Thanks for the video Matt, appreciate the time and effort you put into your work. Please keep them coming. Cheers
Hello Matt, any chance of finding out what the make and model (part number) of those high performance brake rotors are that you installed on the HD Low Rider-S. Also can you please try and get me the make and model of those "small" turn signals on the forks of the same bike (FXDLS). I'd greatly appreciate it. P.S GREAT videos, keep them coming.
D W thanks. Yea. I'll look into it for you.
D W lyndall
Great builds! I'm just waiting for spring before I pick up my Low Rider (currently all stock) - the Bassani Road Rage exhaust at the end of the video sounds pretty deep and throaty, kind of what I'm looking for, how does it sound under acceleration? Looking for something that sounds nice but doesn't piss off the whole neighbourhood at 5am when I go to work!
Jason Gordon it's a great sounding exhaust at all RPM. It's a little on the loud side.
the first dyna is a dream! even though I also like the low rider s those browny rims look really bad.
A perfect build.
Always wanted to check out laidlaw. You guys aren't too far from me. My buddy is trying to buy a lowrider. Any in stock at the moment?
justnmegs This is the first time in a long time we have been sold out. Harley hasn't made enough this model year. We will have plenty come January, February. I have a black used one. I think it's a 2016.
zeallistic what are you guys asking for it? I only ask because he's about a hour and a half away from you
justnmegs we just a new one In today. They are $17,500
Love the videos. You guys did an amazing job on all 3 builds . You have to do me a huge favor though . Let Harley-Davidson know that the low rider s is an amazing bike . They hit it out of the park , but it wasn't a grandslam . The only thing they need to change are the rims (I do prefer rims over spokes). If they were going for gold they could have used a high gloss gold or high gloss black even . Just a brighter shinier gold. Just pass it along cause I have noticed while researching this bike that 9 out of 10 riders don't like them . By the way I should be getting mine in January.
Thanks man. I agree with you. A high gloss would be better. I'll pass that info along.
That lowrider s is beautiful!! I think some straight T-Bars would look better imo but still beautiful nonetheless!
If I didn't want spend 25000 what would u recommend for long distance riding
Enjoying your videos. Question...Does the upgraded 117 motor put out more heat especially to the leg areas? That goes for the 110 as well. I am hoping to get a 110 in the future but am concerned about the heat output especially since I live in the deep south. Thank you and keep up the good work.
yea, going from a 103 to a 110 does create more heat radiating off the engine. This is more noticeable then the bump from a 110 to a 117. That's just my opinion from riding them though. I'm not able to offer up any exact temperature measurement though.
+zeallistic I recently talked to my best friends niebor and he said that he bought a 103 cubic inch harley he said he was thinking about purchasing the 110 but found out the 110 had over heating problems is this true or false??? if true have they fixed this problem???
That's False. In high temperatures they emit a decent amount of heat but they won't over heat unless you just sit there in high heat and don't move. They obviously are air cooled and need air.
Thanks and happy new year!
Thank you. Happy New Year.
Wow... what a nice piece of machine!!! Great taste on the mods!!!! Great Review Thx sharing!!!
Cleber Vieira thanks for watching!
What size handlebar you had on the low rider S?
Always liked the look of the Low Rider. In fact my first new Harley was a 1997 FXDL. Some scumbag stole it and it was never found.
Yea, it's a good looking bike. That sucks it was stolen.
how often do you do these builds? I am definitely interested in the silver and black low rider.
All the time. Builds this involved are bought and paid for by the customer in advance though. We don't build them out like this to then just put them on the showroom floor very often.
Great vid! How tall are the Lucky Dave`s Bars? They are the Lucky 13 bars, correct?
DRU yea I think so.
How do the fit a 6ft 185lb man? Would forward controls be best on it? Haven't had a chance to test ride one yet
Any power #s on the LowRider with the 110 , were there any mods or is it just a 110" shoved into it ? Thanks , I'm always looking for HP #s .
Nice gray seat lucky DAVES LOOKS LIKE I WILL ADD THAT TO THE PARTS LIST !!!!!!
I must say as much of a bad ass bike the low rider s is I would rather have the regular one the color scheme and overall design is perfect in my eyes
Andrew Casida I would agree.
I have a low rider s, thinking of what to modify on it, and cant seem to find what works........... any suggestions are welcome
@@cryptodemon9151 trade it for a Honda.
Love it I'll keep watching you the bikes are amazing the b/k Dyna with 117 is on my wish list keep going
Three great builds . Can't wait to see what comes next.
Thanks. I'll be posting more custom builds like these.
Stacey Ecoboost I'll be posting some customized ones.
Dyna's rock!
Hello, what's the make and model of those turn signals and the high performance rotors on the FXDLS. If you can please provide me with the make and part numbers I'd like to purchase them for my HD FXDLS.
Those are very sick
Wow my dream Bike
Hello Matt!
Do you know the code for the paint that you used for the fairing on the FXDL.. I know that the color is billet silver but I need the code if you have it..
I don’t have the code sorry
How's the handling on this really flickable?
Nice Dynas for sure
which footrests have been used on the first low rider? great video
Joker Machine
Is the two brother exhaust legal in California?
Awesome builds
beautiful bike
Do you have to remove the fender strut trim for those turn signals?
On that first low rider did you have to install longer cables?
ya that's a sweet build.
thats a beautiful bike .
Did you have to extend cables and wires to fit the t bars.
Looks like a victory
can those windscreen clips be replaced if one breaks???
how high are bars ?
How much money for the first bike?
Love the videos btw. And Do you know the bar set up on that street bob?!?
holy shit super sweet setup ..
What is the windshield fairing brand and headlamp? Pls reply these.
Hello, what do you recommend me? TBR exhaust or Bassani road rage ?
That's a tough one. They are both good and sound great. I would probably lean to the Two Brothers.
Hello Matt , Sorry to ask again can you please provide me with the make and part number of the "High" performance Rotors and if possible all so the make and part number for the Led turn signals that were both on the FXDLX Low Rider-S. Thanks for you time
The brake rotors are Lydall. www.lyndallbrakes.com/
I think the turn signals are Joker Machine www.jokermachine.com/products/harley-davidson/turn-signals.html?p=5
The turn signals might be

What size bars is that
those bikes would look better with some forbidden risers with pro tapers and 7/8 throttle
Hi, would the cost of a standard Low Rider with all these mods work out more expensive than the S version ?
Yes, the first Low Rider with the Mods is a $30,000 bike approximately. The Low Rider S is about $17,500. MSRP
Matt Laidlaw how much is the stock Lowrider S with a 117?
David Yergensen You can't just get a Low Rider S with a 117 stock. If you were interested head on over to a Harley dealer and you could have the 117 bolt on kit applied to one and have it thrown into the financial process I believe. That's what I plan to do anyway. It's going to add about $2,100+tax/labor fees. You'll probably wind up spending a rough estimate of $21,000 if that's the only mod you put on it. Well worth it if you ask me.
NUCLEARMOOSE1 thanks for the info
David Yergensen No problem, I hope you get one like you like it.
What is the differences from a street bob to a low rider
Nice bikes!!
the black gauge covers?
Would you happen to know the part number for the 13 spoke mag wheels on the silver and black fxdl
Ok I am a newbie how does this work? I go to Harley say I want this bike with these upgrades and they order them and I pay.or I buy the bike then order the shit on my own go back to Harley and pay to put it on. Great video
Jerome amato you can't order it that way from the factory. You can go to a dealer and have them order and install the parts. Or you can order the parts, take them to the dealer and have them install them. Or you can order you parts from a dealer and install them yourself.
Matt Laidlaw thank you for clearing that up for me. The cheapest route will be to do it myself but how expensive is it for them to order and install. Iam I paying extra for Harley to order parts for me. Thanks again and I've been enjoying your videos
Jerome amato it depends on the dealership. You shouldn't pay more through a dealership. I wouldn't recommend doing some of the work shown on this bike unless you really know what you're doing. If you do something wrong then it will really get expensive!
Matt Laidlaw thanks for the reply and info. Spoke with a dealer near me about all this. They told me the same ordering parts through the dealer acts as a hub no extra fee. If I try to work on Complicated stuff idk about yeah it will bite me In the wallet lol. I will be purchasing a low rider s just looking for best deal. They told me they would do 19000 stock and a 400 dollar gift card. Originally it was 20500. Do u think that is good cause I told them Iam going to another dealership to shop around to see if I can get a better deal. It was hard to walk out butt I had so many bad experiences with care dealers screwing me. I will say these guys were really nice. No pressure well not that much, seemed like stand up men
I want one, how much??
hey Brother. do another video of the Low Rider S. one with forward controls if possible. and do a video of the fat bob. still love your videos brother. look forward to more.
Christopher Heredia I'll definitely do a fat bob video. I'll try to get one up of a low rider S with forward controls
What suspension did he go with front and rear?
Matt, what happens when the paper in that air cleaner gets wet in the rain :/
Martial 3231 It boggs down really bad almost to the point of shutting down; I know, it happens to me all the time . Jeff
FXDXT reproduction bags, not FXRT.
Good looking bikes btw!
Fantastica!
I am interested in Thunder Header exhaust for my Lowrider S. How did you program your bikes after you installed the exhaust systems?
This one was done with the Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner I believe
Matt, you should do a video for those of us who don't get the appeal of Harley's explaining what it is that attracts you to them. I did some searching and what I found (besides an abundance of Harley-hate) was an assertion that cruisers are better for two-up riding, the idea of liking the way it looks, and some differing opinions on whether the quality per dollar is better between Harley and metric cruisers.
But it sounds amazing 😉 good work buddy
That's Black and Gray Dyna low s But the all Blacked out Dyna is on the list
Dream bike.I got a sportster 48 it was my first bike but I want to up grade to some kind of dyna.I could never afford a low rider s😞
Whats the name of that air cleaner
The good old days...
+Zachary Yost 😂 lol
Matt Laidlaw good looking bikes, hard to believe moco would dump the dyna
Nobody's buying the dyna named softails...
luuuuuuuuuuv it
where is the gloss black bezel on the gauges from?
John B they are the stock ones powder coated.
are any of these dynas for sale ?
No they are not. We built these all for specific customers. We can build you one just like it though.
