July has been great for me, middle Tennessee area.

I felt this. The water in the ponds I fish has clearly become more stagnant over the last few weeks. Way more dead water. Most of my bites are coming in 1’-2’ of water in the shade, and mostly much smaller fish.

Great video . What’s your opinion on this in regards to lakes in the northeast ?
I’m in Connecticut and we have allot of natural lakes here .

I love fishing this time of year! All the new Covid fishermen are gone and, the "anyone can catch them during the spawn" people are gone too! I go out there and have the place basically to myself. I can also pick up some discounted gear from all of the "first day of fishing season folks" who no longer have any interest or have gone in June and caught nothing. I just hook up my swim jig on one rod and my drop shot or TRD on the other and head out. Most of the time I have to draw reaction strike but, it works in these hotter months by stroking my swim jig off the bottom. I'm standing in the water at my place so, it's almost like a day at the beach. Lastly, since I have the place to myself, there is little to no fishing pressure on my fish. I think Mid September to November is the toughest time to catch them.

The way I’ve understood it, if it’s so hot that it’s unbearable fish go where you wanna go if you can take some water with you and find some shade: you catch ‘em
