Sea & Sea YS-D3 Duo Underwater Strobe Review

Review of the Sea & Sea YS-D3 DUO.
At Backscatter, we take the testing of strobes very seriously in order to provide our customers with the most accurate comparison between different models. As there isn't any industry standard for measuring strobe performance, we rely on our in-house testing process. Our testing process includes underwater testing of the strobe's guide number and beam pattern using a professional light meter inside a custom-made housing. We also conduct on-land testing of the strobe's color temperature, recycle time, and flash duration using a light meter and a spectrophotometer in a controlled environment. With this information, we are able to compare all of the strobes we sell on an even playing field.

I bought two of them. Weekend we go first time in the water. Strobes on red RC Mode, TG6 Flash on RC Mode....witch Mode on Camera is the best ? Underwater Wideangel ?? A ??
Maybe it will be an interessting Video about the Strobe working with the TG6 exactly.

How do the D3 and duo. Compare side by side power wise?

Performance wise they are the same. The only main difference is the Duo supports RC TTL for Olympus and Om System cameras.

Can it be used for the sealife micro3.0?

The Sealife Micro 3.0 does not have a built in flash, so unfortunately there is no way to attach a strobe. You will only be able to use a video light with this camera. We recommend the Backscatter MW4300 www.backscatter.com/Backscatter-Macro-Wide-Underwater-Video-Light-MW-4300
