Question: how can I use a video light as a strobe, for example the kraken hydra 2500, thanks!
The short answer is that you can't. A strobe and a video light are two very different tools that serve two different purposes. A video light cannot match the brightness of a strobe, and because of the different ways that the lights function, a video light cannot "freeze" motion on moving subjects or allow you to separate the background exposure from the foreground exposure (like you can with a strobe). I'm debating whether to buy two backscatter mini flash or one if mainly I will be doing macro and supermarcro??? Still new to the photo with the strobe!!
You will probably want to use just one to get started, but then will quickly want to add another one to use especially for remote lighting and back lighting using the Light Pipe and Muck Stick. Get them both in a package and save!

Do you have any videos on single strope placement?
We go a little more into how to use a single strobe for good macro placement with our TG Best Settings videos, specifically the Macro Photo settings. Most of it applies directly to TG-6, but the strobe positioning stuff is universal.
