What if I needed to print a gradient in an arch shape?? What would be the best way to apply that and make it work in almost a rainbow shaped arch in a half circle??
This is perfect this is what I need. What happen when gradient have some curves form, how we can sep this. For white base in gradient over a dark garment should we use a solid white base?

i'm applying the gradient tool, but it creates a layer with the gradient. On the video it seams as though the channel is getting the gradient fill. not sure what i'm doing wrong
So the gradient can be printed just like that onto the transparency film right, then exposed right? No need to convert to half tones at all for a smooth gradient?
It will need to be halftones. I recommend RIP software such as AccuRIP for the best results. As a second option you can bitmap your channels to halftones but the dots will not be as smooth.
So what order would you print this in? Would you just let your printer figure that out? and should anything be flashed in the print order? or just let them keep going and get buildup on the screens?. Great Video BTW liked and subscribed! :)
I number the channels in my recommended print order, but the printer can always switch them around to whatever works best for them. I sep the files to be printed wet on wet, but occasionally the printer will need to add a flash if there are any potential issues (dot gain, etc.). Most seps only need 1 flash after the base white.
I find my shop needs to flash after the base and also after about 3 colors in due to ink buildup on the bottom of the screen, my first printer had 5 months experience May 2nd one 15 years and my current third one has had 3 years

I do my gradient seps the same way except I didnt think about using the Tri-blend for the middle (yellow) color. Thanks for the tips!

I can barely see your channels panel, thus was unable to follow exactly what you are doing. Can you make the panel options MED or LARGE size?

Why do you choose 20% for all colors except for black, which is 100%?
Out of curosity if you try to open a file that contains two spot layers. Would you be able to set them to the same swatch in illistrator?
Yes the colors can be set to the same swatch. The layers don't really matter

How do you add the 2 black mask at 2:03 mark
Load the mask and then fill with white
too fast and hard to see but possibly pretty helpful if i watch it about 5 times
For the one way gradient how do i print it off onto the screen?
Make a selection and create the gradient inside it.
